We stayed four nights for a family wedding. The Londa is a nice, well kept, modern hotel on the sea front and done in a very contemporary style which may not be to everyone's taste. The staff were charming and helpful, the food was fine and we had a pleasant stay. We had booked the cheapest room but were upgraded on arrival to a side suite which was comfortable in a minimalist way.
The only real downside is the location. The hotel is in the 'tourist area' of Limassol about 5k east of the town centre. A two lane highway runs behind the hotel and every evening local lunatics roar up and down on motorbikes and in souped up cars. This 'strip' must have been engaging 30 years ago with beachside bars and restaurants but is is not pretty monstrous - old blocks of flats which are crumbling and seedy, abandoned shops, fast food outlets, topless bars and souvenir shops. Dotted among this dross are a few nice hotels, one of which is the Londa, as well as Starbucks, Haagen Dazs etc. The Londa occupies a narrow strip between the highway and the shore with unappealing apartment blocks directly on each side. It all feels a bit uncomfortable even though the pool area, the public rooms etc are comfortable and appealing.More
