I have read the other unfortunate peoples review of this site and I have actually made a formal complaint to Olympic holidays as the brochure information is incorrect and that is being kind. I have many photos of the state of the rooms and the terrible repair or lack of.

10 days of no shower facility as our taps were actually hanging of the wall tiles were covered in mold and smelled awful. 5th floor and the railings were coming away from the raw plugs and i banned my kids from going out unless I was with them.

Bedding and cleaning was completely filthy and the staff did not seem to care. Any complaint to the manager was met with a shrug of his shoulders and a pretence not to understand.

Gym --- where it was so hidden away with no equipment as they are packing up because the building has been sold for development in November not hearsay straight from the manager and various members of staff and family who took over the place one weekend for whatever they wanted to do. 3 private functions inour 10 days meant that we could not even sit and have a drink at night.

I feel i am going on and on but this place is incredible in how bad it could be I will inform you all of my success with Olympic but dont hold your breath, if any one wants photos let me know at least it would make you laugh.

this is the first time I have taken my kids away on there own since divorced and I am stunned as I travel abroad at least 4 times a year and have been to cyprus before many times and never seen anything like this place. as you pull up on the coach you can hear the sigh of relief from people who realise its not theres.

Thanks for reading my rants at least I feel better and as a plus the area is actually very nice and the bars are pretty good and look after the kids well.

Read the brochures it has loads to offer -
pool bar: was not there!
safety box: available for £ 5.00 a week
a room with seaview: you have to take a room with seaview for £ 35.00 a week , or else you are sleeping in a room with a lot of noise of the mainroad of Limassol (near the hotel).

entertainment: only a very bad radio by the pool, with the same music all day long.
gym: in the filthy / smelling basement, nothing works how it should be
conference rooms: was not ther
radio: was not working
satellite TV: BBC but very bad connection
sandy beaches: you could better say : watch your step when you want to go for a swim into te sea, because the rocks are very slippery and the sandy beach? Pfffff you can lay into the sun on the sand with 2 persons and that was the sandy beach in front of our Avenida Beach Hotel, for a sandy beach you have to go to the beach in front of the Amathus Hotel wich is 10 minutes walk from our hotel, but you have to pay £ 1.00 for a parasol and £ 1.25 for a sunbed
Lovely bars, shops and restaurants 400 meters from the hotel: a few but not 400 meters near the hotel and the bars en restaurants were empty!

Well, I can describe more but i haven't got all week.

If you are led to believe everything in the brochures you like may others would expect a nice family run hotel with alot to offer - its all cosmetic - The hotel has local functions and parties, again pushing payed holiday makers to one side, doors hang off their hinges, linen doesnt fit the beds, towels shabby and stained along with funriture. . . . . . and dont forget the resident roaches - trust me we came and we saw and we wont be going back again!!!!

Basically - the hotel has been bled and drained of all its life. Fancy cars arrive, and fancy cars leave - but no money seems to be put back into the hotel, and thats what its desperately needs! Some TLC!

Stay clear is your best bet!

If you want a quit hotel with a pool all by yourself, a lazy vacation, its an opportunity, (the bartenders are nice and helpfull)--> that's the only positive thing I, well WE can say, because when we were on this vacation, there were a lot of custumors who agree with all this [----].

SO DONT GO TO THIS HOTEL IF YOU EXPECT SOME LUXURY!!!!!!!!!!!

the stay we had at the avenida was dissapointing, the rooms were damp and really basic. The breakfasts were not worth getting up for, no entertainment and the same songs played over and over again at poolside, food was poor and the same dinner time choice consisting of 5 seperate meals. Do not go, put that bit extra towards your hotel and check reviews i will in futured

The description about this building in the brochure is obviously about a different hotel a there is no resemblence!
Many of the facilities are non existant and the ones that are, are in very poor conditon such as the bedrooms, they are very shabby and have a musty smell. The en suite is disgusting as the shower curtain is filthy and it is completly rotten! we had damp walls and rusty plug holes.
The only good thing about the room is the sea view but only if you are on the right side of the building as one side overlooks the main road.
The pool area is small, run down with dirty parasols and beds. The pool and out door facilities were never cleaned when we were there. Cats and their kittens were running riot and a disturbing fact was one had a horrendous infection in its eye!
A very disturbing fact was many of the guests complained about money going missing from their rooms and the manager was very arrogant and said "why didn't you get a safety deposit box?!" after a few incidents of stolen money, posters went up all over the hotel suggesting that a safety box should be used.
The food was not edible. Parents of young children often asked for sandwiches to be made as they did not cater fot them. It was very repetitive and vile to say the least.
There is a lot of restaurants around however they all seem to be sea food restaurants. There was also repetitive kareoke bars which were empty. The whole place seemed deserted. We never had one drink in the hotel as it was often closed and there was no entertainment at all - apart from 1 private party for a christening by locals.
The hotel is surrounded by high class hotels which are very well looked after and are what hotels should be. The Avienda should take a look at them and sort out their hotel as it should be rated 1star

Scruffy, run down many areas in need of repair, some dangerous areas around pool - raised drain covers. Rooms in urgent need of refurbishment tatty furnishings, standard of clenliness discusting - showerhead thick with limescale, stained bedding. grubby towels. Room doors do not lock properly many broken into. Breakfast - very little selection, No bacon as it is too expensive! (as one staff member informed me) Locals allowed access to hotel facilities, Beach is three feet wide! No entertainment or much of anything advertised it has to offer. Would rate it one star not three.
Hotel hosted wedding receptions & kids parties pushing guets who have already paid to one side. longest 14 days of my life GLAD TO GO HOME!

This is a hotel with many +s and many -s.

Many features described by this hotel do not exist except in High Season, and the rooms are in need of many small repairs. Only one electrical socket in the room, so take your adaptor.

However, the hotel is in a great setting next to the sea, where you can walk on a pathway for several Kms in each direction. Hotel has a nice private pool area, with large pool.

The surrounding area has plenty of good quality bars and restaurants, along with some very high quality hotels. The area is generally quite at night.

Hotel food is of good quality and plentiful, but repetitive. Service staff are also helpful and pleasant.

Access to Limassol (8km) is easy as a regular bus service stops outside. Also plenty local car hire facilities, mini markets etc.
