“very nice public areas”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 November 2009

We stayed here back in the summer for a week, my first impression of the hotel was very good as the reception lounge area and the bar and restaurants were very 4 star. However the corridors leading to the bedrooms and the 2 bedrooms we had were tired and needed refurbishing. The bedrooms were also much smaller than any we have stayed in in Cyprus. In addition the bathrooms were functional but needed a good scrub. I requested larger rooms as we had three teenage boys staying in one room but despite the fact the hotel was far from full we were told we would have had to pay a supplement. The hotel is in a good position and the well manicured gardens lead down to the beach. The breakfast choice is good, I couldn' t comment on the evening meals as we did not use them. Overall this hotel is a bit deceptive as the bedrooms should be as luxurious as the public areas.

have just returned from a 2 week stay and wished we could have stayed longer. Hotel has been refurbished with 2 new restaurants added since my last stay and it is so much better. The staff, without exception, were polite, friendly and efficient. Management were very hands on to ensure the smooth running of the hotel especially in the restaurants. It could get hectic in the morning at breakfast due to the high volume of guests but Andy would make sure you got the table you wanted -" outside? No problem" The man deserved a medal. It had been mentioned in previous reviews about rude Russians. Didn't find them, just nice people on holiday. The food was of a high standard. Tried the Italian restaurant -set menu if you are on half board. Really nice experience. Plenty of sunbeds in the grounds, loads of umbrellas.Fabulous Blue Flag beach. Recommend upgrade to sea view room as it is quieter. Loads of weddings to watch - wasn't noisy, no disturbance. Found cheap cocktail bar 10 minutes down the road at Hamlets Pub - 1.20 euros for a Cosmopolitan! Or stay at the hotel and enjoy happy hour 6 -7. Can't wait to go back.

we stayed in this hotel on our honeymoon, it was a lovley hotel friendly staff exeptionally clean, house keeping was great and deserve a medal. the pool and gardens and outside in general was very clean and well equipt for lazy evenings relaxing, (the little guy on the guitar kept us amused on wednesday evening. My only gripe was they were aware on reception we were a honeymoon couple and didnt offer us any upgrades. not that it spoilt anything but it would have been nice if they had asked. all in all a great holiday will definatley be going back, will have a sea veiw room next time as the road noise was a little off putting (i live in the quietness of the country usually)

No real problems , pleasant tourist hotel with comfortable multi level pool area and directly downto the sea. We were very fortunate to be offered an exchange deal to go to their sister hotel in Paphos ( the Elysium) for two nights of our 5 night stay. This was a fab hotel ( we are spoilt on the hotel front living in Dubai!)
The staff at the Mediterranean were very friendly, breakfast was excellent, rooms average ( shame not all grades of room have tea and coffee making facillities). Lots of bars and restaurants on the doorstep.

Just got back from a weeks stay at the Mediterranean Beach Hotel and would like to say how lovely it was. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was good, with lots of choices and the swimming pool and beach area was within such a lovely setting. We did'nt chose to spend the extra on sea view rooms as we do not spend enough time in them, and I must say that the main road was noisey, but we found it to be probably more interesting with all the cars and bikes racing along!! It was noisey, but did'nt really bother us. There were a couple of negatives and the first one was the prices of the drinks in the hotel, so during the day we use to shop opposite in the supermarket, also we thought the hotel did not have enough entertainment. Apart from that, the hotel really deserves it 's 4 star rating.

This was our sixth stay at this hotel and we will never stay at the Hotel again. Our room was on the third floor with a lovely view over the swimming pool and towards the sea. Unfortunately, it was also above a function room that the Hotel hired out for wedding receptions every weekend of our two and a half week stay. The music emanating from the receptions was so loud our room vibrated from the noise making it impossible to sleep. Despite several requests to reception for the music to be turned down it continued at the same very loud level until after 3am on each occasion. We were informed that because they were wedding receptions the wedding guests were entitled to enjoy themselves come what may.
The Hotel also started work on the kitchen/restaurant below the room. The meant that we had to endure the sound of drilling and hammering from 7am. This was finally put back to 8am after requests for the noise levels in the room to be turned down. When we returned to the room early evening, the drilling and hammering was still ongoing. This went on for best part of two weeks.
The final straw was having to endure the loud music from the hotel provided entertainment every night. The singing and music was of a very poor standard and continued until midnight most evenings. Closing the balcony doors and the curtains failed to reduce the loudness of the music. This also made it impossible to get a good nights sleep.
The attitude of the Hotel Management was very much 'could not care less'. We were not the only guests to complain about the ongoing noise levels. Guests also complained about having to leave the swimming pool area mid afternoon every weekend to enable wedding receptions to take place around the pool. The clear message from the Hotel Management was that paying hotel guests were a very low priority.
The car park which was meant to be for the use of Hotel Guests was frequently left open to everyone meaning it was often impossible for guests to park there. Given how busy the area is, it was often impossible to find alternative parking in the area.
The standards of what used to be a very lovely hotel have gone down drastically this year. The room was dusty and the bathroom was not cleaned properly. The room was supposed to be one of the best at the Hotel but the fixtures and fittings were worn, outdated and in some cases broken. Add this to the high room rates and the 'could not care less' attitude of the Hotel Management it is difficult to understand how this Hotel continues to maintain its 4* status.
The only positive thing about the Hotel these days is its location.

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel for a weeks holiday in July, we stayed Bed and Breakfast and the choice of food for breakfast was amazing, they cater for everyone! The rooms are clean and quite spacious, the only problem we found was the main road outside, there is alot of traffic noise from early evening through to the early hours of the morning, we would definitely stay again but would choose a sea view room without a doubt. One other slightly annoying point but not one to lose any sleep over, there was no plug in the bathroom to charge a mans electric shaver. Other than the above points we were very happy with the hotel. The pools and surrounding areas are lovely and clean and one of the warmest pools I have ever swam in, there is also a lifeguard on patrol at all times. The location is ok, the hotel is situated right on the beach front and there are a few bars and restaurants around the hotel but if you prefer a clubbing atmosphere it is a short taxi ride into the more lively part, watch out for drink prices though!!
