“Great place to stay”
Reviewed 15 September 2011

The hotel was really nice and friendly. The reception area was great, it was kept clean at all times. The pool area was fantastic. We stayed next to the adult pool most of the time. It was very clean and very well maintained. The pool staff was very helpfull and pleasent. Dont expect to see a beach when you get there. It was a small sliver of sand, and that was not very nice. Full of stones, but once you got past the stones and into the sea, it was great. We went in sept, the sea was lovely and warm and clear. There is also a jetty, if you dont want to walk over the stones. We had s sea view which was very nice. The rooms were ok, they were very clean. But the beds not too good. We had to swap ours twice. The resturant was lovely, the food was good. But it was just like any other hotel food. We went on half board, and at luuch time we went to a cafe just outside of the hotel which was called seville. It was very nice, and i would recommend it.If you wander out of the hotel, when you get to the top of the street, turn right. There are plenty of bars and resturants there. Aslo there is starbucks, coffee republic as well. One night we walked into limassol. Wow what a trek, but it was ok. If i can manage it anyone can. If you want you can catch a bus or get a taxi. But taxi's are very expensive. On the hole the hotel is a great place to stay, very clean, pleasent staff. But because it's such a big hotel, i feel your not really anything special to them, just another holiday maker. (Ship em in, and ship em out.

Room Tip: Sea views are good. But if you want an early night, you cant because of the entertainment. It finish...

My husband & I, and our two friends stayed here from 31st August for 11 nights. The check in was very quick with very friendly staff! We paid for Sea View rooms but also asked for top floor rooms and we got exactly what we asked and paid for. Your rooms have a fridge filled with soft drinks, water & alcholic minitures in, but you have to PAYE to drink any items out your fridge, they do not form part of your all inclusive package which we thought was a bit naughty! The Thomsons Rep was awful, she had no personality and her welcome meeting was so rehearsed & scripted she bored her audience and never mentioned things about the Hotel that we would have found useful! The Hotel has an Adults Only Pool which is just great, very peaceful and the pool attendants made sure no one under 18 went in this pool. The food is lovely, but like alot of all inclusive hotels the food is very repetative! A down side to this hotel is that it does not really have a lunch time snack bar, you eat your lunch in the restaurant where you have breakfast and your evening meal, so for lunch the food was very similar to the evening meals. There were burgers, pizzas & hotdogs in heated trays & little cakes, by the bar area that you could help yourself too, but they were normally all gone by about 1pm and this was the only choice every afternoon! A seperate snack bar offering lunch time snacks would be a nicer alternative to the normal meats & fish & salads etc each afternoon! There is a New Red Room Restaurant which we thought being all inclusive we would be allowed to go to for free once a week but we were annoyed to find that you only got a 10 euro reduction off each meal, if memory serves me right it was roughly 65 euros for 2 meals. Most all inclusive hotels we have been to in the past, have allowed you to visit the A' la Carte restaurants for free as part of your holiday! The entertainment was OK, look out for the Magician, he was so funny, (bad but funny) he is worth watching! Saturday nights is locals night in the Hotel, a two piece cypriot band play whilst the locals dance the night away, the only problem is there are no seats for paying holidaymakers as they are all taken by the locals. We also had locals weddings on the Fri, Sat & Sunday during our stay! We were told there is a wedding each weekend throughout the whole of September. The only problem with this is that the pool attendants need to start clearing away all your sunbeds at about 3pm to start setting up for these weddings and you also get moved out of the main restaurant and your lunches and evening meals are taken in another room so that the wedding party can have the main room. To sum this Hotel up, it is lovely, clean, well maintained, with the most attentive friendly helpful staff I have ever come across. It is worth a visit, but we wont be going back but that is only because we expected alot more for our money and it is not a 5 Star property that we are used too.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms are worth paying for as the view is wonderful, although we noticed that a room facing...

Very good hotel. Large clean rooms, very comfortable beds and a big wardrobe. The food was excellent, always both meat and fish, fresh salads and vine in bottles at lunch and dinner. The pools vere clean, one only for adlts and one for children was a good thing. An indoor pool as well were you could swim if you wanted to do that.
The 3 girls who provided activitis in the day were very good, we did dart, boule, water gymnastics and zoomba and other activitis every day, that is good for all the food you eat during all inclusive. There is a beachwalk whick is perfect for morning powerwalks and if you want to go into the center of the city that is a perfect choice.
If you go to the Mall be sure to order taxt back when you are there, it is not easy to get one at the spot. The Mall was an expensive collection of shops, better to shop in the old town and mor pleasent.
If there was anything to complain about it was the evening entertainment, it was not much to speak about, there they could improve a lot.
We would go back to this hotel if we ever go to Limassol again, but we are travellers who like to see new places whenever we make a trip, but who knows.

.. but I am a very hard person to please sometimes!! The write up Thomson gives it makes it seem like its out of this world, its a very nice hotel dont get me wrong but as for it being amazing, no. The staff were excellent, friendly and very efficient. The food was good, lots of choice and fresh, but I got a little bored of it by day 4. Never did try the "Egg, rice and lemon" soup.... must have been catering for aliens that day!! The dining hall was nice and your empty plate never sat in front of you for more than a few minutes. The kids pool is nice and the swim up bar is ok. The adult pool is lovely and they are quick to evict any kids who sneak in. The room was very nice, the bathroom was tiny! Had a lovely sea view. I am not one for entertainment at hotels but I have to admit it was the best I have seen. The comedy magician Paul was hilarious, if you only see one act see his. Tried the spa and had a massage which was good. You can use the steam and sauna once as part of (our) package. The indoor pool is almost always empty so if your a swimmer and want an uninterrupted swim this is the place for you. Free wireless in the lobby and outside in the bar by the adult pool. In your room there is a lead to plug your laptop into. As for outside the hotel................ very run down and VERY expenisve. As most of the hotels are all inclusive is it any wonder most of the businesses around have failed or failing. We made the mistake of trying the Adonis restaurant just up the road. Ice cold red wine, cold jacket potato, over cooked in old oil fish.... AVOID. The bars around were empty and drink average £5 for a spirit and mixer - hence the reason people dont bother going out the hotel to drink. I can definately recommend a fantastic place to eat if you dont mind paying a fair bit, but this was the best food I have ever eaten. Go to Colombia Plaza (about 9 euros in taxi from hotel) and inside there is the Colombia Steak House, The service is excellent, they show you the cuts of meat and its done to perfection. You wont regret eating there. I just think for the amount of money Thomson charges for this hotel you cant help but expect more. Its a lovely hotel and they are booked up way in advance, but the way this part of Cyprus is going you are going to pay alot of money to stay within the hotel as outside is outrageously expensive. If you need to iron your clothes its probably best to pack an iron. You cant get one in your room, you have to get an iron from reception - whilst holding your clothes - then go to a small room round the back and do your ironing - then take the iron back to reception! So if you dont mind doing this then fine!! I had a very nice relaxing week there but wouldnt go back as I think its too expenisve for what it is and was not impressed at all with life outside the hotel.

Room Tip: Get a sea view

I stayed with my husband at Atlantica Miramare for 6 nights during August for a combined business/relax time on our first trip to Cyprus.

Rooms:
We arrived late in the evening and the moment we stepped in the room we knew we are going to really enjoy our time here. The room had an incredible ocean view and a jacuzzi and sun beds on the balcony! What I liked most about the hotel and one could see it in the room was the attention to detail. Everything was tastefully designed and I could tell that no item was chosen by chance. The bed is very comfortable and the bathroom is functional.

Facilities:
They have both an adult pool (very quiet and with attentive staff) and a kids and family pool in a different area. We mostly used the adult pool, very clean and with amazingly warm water.
Got a chance to experience their spa with a massage (very relaxing) and the "fish pedicure" which was...interesting.
We also had some sandwiches at the pool bar and also some drinks which were really good.
The business center is very functional and there is wireless in the lobby and they have some reading books in various languages in the business center which I loved because I just finished my book there.

Restaurants:
We had breakfast and dinner buffet style and it had a lot of choices both hot and cold dishes and desserts. I personally am not very fond of eating beans and sausage in the morning but since English are it just shows their attention for their customers.
If you have a chance try the "Red Room". It is a newly opened terrace and restaurant, very intimate and with great service. The specialties - seafood.

Entertainment:
I have never been in a hotel that had entertainment so I am not an expert in this but I am recommending Paul - the magician - he is fantastic and super funny and the special effects guys which made an amazing show with fire and lights and gymnastics.
Loved the cocktail quizzes and almost won one (tip if you get into a tiebreak: Atlantica has 24 hotels - or at least that is what the girls told us and the girls' ages are 20 and 21 :) ).

Staff & Service:
Very nice staff, always smiling.
There are a lot of languages spoken by staff which gives the place a multicultural feeling and one can even meet staff from their home country which gives it a personal touch. Everyone though speaks very good English. The staff in the restaurant is very attentive and quick in clearing your table, taking drink orders in the evening and I have noticed that they are very well coordinated by their supervisors.
The sun beds at the pool are mostly occupied by 10 am but the pool staff always finds a spare sunbed and brings it over to wherever you want to lie. Also they are really paying attention not to have kids in the adult pool.

All in all it was a very nice experience for our first time in Cyprus and we will definitely return.

The Atlantic Miramare is not the most elegant or new of hotels, but made a good option for us as a short-stay break and Limassol is a good location from which to visit the rest of Cyprus. The reservations staff were extremely helpful in trying to meet our request for rooms close to each other, given that we had booked through 2 different booking companies and the hotel was completely full. We managed to move our daughter to a room nearby on the second day at the hotel.

The hotel is not new, but has been updated and is located close to the main street in the tourist area with lots of options for eating out and shopping. We had both a sea view and garden view room in the main building. It was definitely worth paying the extra for the sea view, since the room was lighter and more spacious than the garden view. The downside, however, is that our room was towards the centre of the hotel and overlooked the pool and bar area where the evening entertainment takes place. This is loud and goes on until 11pm, so if you want an early night, bring ear plugs! The garden view room overlooks the car park and is much darker and more cramped with lower ceilings to accommodate the a/c.

We stayed on a half board basis and found that this probably worked out best for price as well as enabling us to eat outside the hotel each day. The food in the main restaurant (buffet style) was plentiful and of good quality for such mass-produced fayre. We found the head waiter a little overbearing and on the last night, for some reason, all the English-speaking guests were corralled into one section of the restaurant - we felt as though we had some dreadful disease! The vast majority of guests were Russian (around 90%), with a small minority of guests from the UK and Germany.

Although the hotel was full, we were able to find sunbeds each day and whilst the children's pool was very busy, the main "adults only" pool was always pretty empty. There are water sports available on the beach directly in front of the hotel. The beach is dark sand, very pebbly and just a narrow strip.

Overall, a very pleasant stay, with friendly and helpful staff, but beware if you have young children looking for English-speaking playmates!

Room Tip: Definitely the sea-view room or superior sea-view which are lighter and more spacious
