My Husband and i have just returned from a weeks stay at the Atlantica Bay. I have to agree with other comments that on the face of it, the hotel was looking "tired". Having booked in we ventured of up to our room in a lift that would hold at most 4 people..Snug you may say.
The room was tidy and clean and served it's purpose, but we were unable to get to sleep at night as the Entertainment went on till midnight prompt and there was no escaping it!!
Hotel staff very hard working and very pleasant...Yes there were a few small children but they were obviously not English and were well behaved so i guess we were lucky.
The food at the hotel was superb and plentiful and we were treated to an "A la Carte" evening by Thomson Gold which was very intimate and romantic so thanks for that..
You are away from bright lights and commercialism, but we enjoyed our break.
Would i return? Possibly not. The beach let it down as it was dirty and location wasn't that good. If anything i'd return just for the food!! Also free towels are not available on a daily basis. They are only changed Twice a week and you have to sign for them.

Went here as a last minute deal and i could not praise it any higher. The hotel was absolutley stunning, the staff were very helpful Everything aout the hotel was brilliant.

I must say that the thomson gold team were amazing in all aspects of their daily routine.

The staff everwhere were brilliant. The food was too die for and what more could you want when you are on holiday.

The gala dinner was brilliant and not to be missed.

We've stayed at the hotel with my husband for two weeks. We booked the hotel early in January after reading excellent reviews and paid around 3000 Euros. For us this hotel was not worth the money at all.

Advantages:

The hotel has very good public areas (lobby, restaurant, pool areas) which could easily belong to a 5 star property. A free Wi-Fi in all public areas, the phone calls abroad from the room are really low-priced. The service was very good, especially by the pool, the waiters pass by every minute. Christina, the receptionist is really professional, very friendly and helpful. The beach towels are free of charge and can be changed by reception.

The negative:

The room was tired, definitely not 4 stars, really dirty, old bath with dark silicone stripes, the shower and tap started to rust. During our stay only towels were changed, the room stayed unclean.

There are constructions all around the hotel, we were warned by our tour operator, but it was too late for us to book another hotel. The construction starts on 7 am and they were working on Saturday as well.

We were very disappointed by the food and beverage quality. We booked all inclusive. Wines that were offered were only table wines and of very poor quality. The wine on the board of the plane on the way back tasted unbelievable nice!!! The cocktails were undrinkable. Beer was good, especially the Cypriote one.

The food was very repetitive and of average and sometimes poor quality, exactly the same salads every day. During our stay we were 2 times at Gala-Dinners and the food was exactly the same. The desserts though were really great. We tried to escape 2 times from another boring dinner and found out that there are no restaurants near the hotels. To go to Limassol and to come back we paid almost 40 euros only for the taxi.

There were many guests with children during our stay and it was bothering, but for me not so bothering as to stand up at 6 am, like you have to go to work, only to find a place by the pool. Very relaxing!

And the last and the most bothering: the "entertaintment". One DJ could save the hotel management a lot of money and bring much more entertainment to the guests.

We had wonderful holidays, but it had nothing to do with this hotel. We are definitely not going to come back here.

Thank you for your comments.

As a Thomson Gold Award winning hotel for the last 10 years we take pride in the excellent service and facilities that we offer. The Gold Award is a high achievement, and is based on guest satisfaction and comments in all areas ie: food, service, accommodation, cleanliness and entertainment. All these details are carefully calculated in order to provide the highest standard possible. With an extensive hot & cold buffet, live show cooking and specially designed house wine exclusively for the Atlantica Bay and an upgraded entertainment program we believe we continue to achieve our goals.

Although there are some building works near the hotel, we do not face any major issues. Just for your information, the hotel at the moment is almost fully booked and the feedback we get from our guests shows a high level of guest satisfaction in all aspects. We assure you that our management team and staff do their best to make our guests’ stay the most enjoyable.

Once again we thank you for your comments

My wife and I stayed here during July for 10 days. We had a very enjoyable stay, the staff were on hand for any of your requirements, this also included the Thompson Reps who were very helpful at all times and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were very clean, the food was in abundance with plenty of choice for all dietry requirments. We upgraded from half board to full when we arrived, but found out we should have just upgraded to include the drinks package as we had more than enough food for breakfast and evening meal without having lunch as well. Top marks go to "Jamie" and "Debbie" for their hard work in providing the entertainment they put on during the day/evening, so "well done" and thankyou! We have no complaints and really enjoyed our stay and would recommened this hotel.

I came here 3 years ago, and since then ive been to 2 other all inclusive hotels and to be honest it make's me a little upset as the later two hotels cant hold a candle to this hotel, it was the first holiday for my girlfriend and I and we talk about it whenever we disucuss holidays, the hotel is in a lovely location over looking the sea, yes its a lttle remote but thats no problem, the hotels is spacious, well designed and and above the staff and reps are fantastic. This is really how a holiday should be, the foods is great and the drinks package really good value for money. I dont know if disco dave and jo-slow are still there but im sure whoever is there, thompsons has got their best there, a truely wonderfull holiday and I hope to return one day soon. 5 stars!

We have just returned from The Atlantica Bay, we had booked this hotel for our delayed honeymoon, and we were left feeling disappointed. The hotel staff are wonderful and can't do enough for you. The public areas of the hotel are great and very clean., but our room had damp patches on the walls, broken lampshades, and broken chairs on the balcony! Not much to quibble about really but when you've paid to upgrade the room, it sorta stings a bit! When we booked this hotel we were led to believe it was 'exclusive' to Thomson Gold, thinking rightly or wrongly that it would be child free-wrong! On our 1st morning there were screaming children in the restaurant, and later in the week, jumping in and out of the pool, which for a relaxing holiday isn't good!
The food although nice gets very repetivite and boring, we went all inclusive. But another option is to upgrade to a drinks package. There is nothing around the hotel, a few bars about 10 mins away but thats it! The hotels private beach is awful, and not well looked after either. The entertainment is good, but there is no escape from it, if you want a drink on the terrace you have no choice but to listen to the entertainment! If you get the chance to catch an act called Operatunity do it because they were fabulous!
A few have said this hotel is quite it isn't the surrounding areas outside of the hotel are but not the hotel itself.
The Gala Dinner didn't impress us either, the only difference to a normal night is that you eat out by the pool, which when it's warm isn't very comfortable, and you don't get the choice of joining in with the Gala dinner, you sort of get held to ransom, you either join in or don't eat, unless you're willing to pay for room service, which isn't cheap!
This hotel does have it's plus points, the waiting staff are excellent, both in the bars and resturant. Debbie and Jamie, the entertainment team do a sterling job but again there is no escaping the noise coming from the entertainment as most of it is centred around the pool, and trying to relax with a water polo match going on isn't great. Sunbeds-what fun, if your idea of a relaxing holiday is getting up at 6.30 for sun loungers then this is the hotel for you! If you didn't get up early to put towels on the sun loungers, you didn't get one! The hotel allow the towels to be left on loungers ALL day without anyone on them! The hotel has apparently told the Thomson reps NOT to remove the towels on loungers!
We went on an excursion 'Cyprus Uncorked', please avoid this trip, it is 122 euros, and we were fleeced is all I can say. We spent 7 hours in total on this trip,on a bus with very limited air conditioning going around in circles. We booked on it because we had wanted to visit the Kurion, we spent 15 mins there, very disappointing as all the guide books say it's a great place to see, such a short time that we didn't see all of it. This trip takes you to the foothills of the Troodos mountains, why I still don't know, then lunch is in the roughest, dodgyest part of Limassol old town, just don't beleive the hype on any information about this excursion! We complained about this trip to the rep, and all we were told is she'd pass the information on, but i really doubt that will happen I got the feeling from the reps, that all they wanted was their commission from selling the trips!

We enjoyed the holiday and it's is the little things that let this hotel down, and that is mainly because of Thomsons I think, they make the hotel feel like a holiday camp, and it's not what we paid our money for.

Thank you for your comments.

We are very surprised to hear your comments regarding the food, as our Executive Chef takes pride in his varied daily menu offering a wide range of choice from carvery, plain dishes, sauce dishes, live made to order show cooking and an extensive salad buffet as well. Furthermore, as a Gold Hotel, one of our highlights is our Gala Dinner which we have always received excellent comments on. Although the Gala Dinner is specially set up by the poolside, we do appreciate that not everyone enjoys sitting outside which is why the restaurant seating is also always available should anyone express the desire to sit inside.

We do appreciate that Thomson Gold does not book any children under 16, however, as it clearly states in the brochure “other tour operators may allow children” and at the moment we only have a couple of children in the hotel as the hotel is not designed for children.

Regarding the comments on the sun-beds it is hotel policy that any towels found before 9:00 shall be removed. Similarly, any towels left unattended throughout the day shall also be removed. Our pool attendants do their very best to ensure this policy for the continued service to all of our guests in addition to the ample sun beds we provide for our guests.

Once again thank you for your comments.
