“Great Hotel, great staff.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 June 2007

23rdMay2007 - 30th May2007
We booked this hotel via the internet through a travel agency, we wanted a hotel in Limassol as we have family out there and wanted to be close. The travel agents then later informed us that the hotel was now unavailable due to work being carried out on the Atlantica Oasis hotel complex across the road and they were going to put us in a remote location north of Paphos, I contacted the Atlantica Gardens directly by e-mail and by phone, the staff were incredibly helpful and they contacted the travel agents for me. By the end of the day the travel agents had contacted me and I was now able to go to the hotel I had originally booked.
After more holiday changes from the travel agents we eventually got to our hotel at about 4am local time. We did not know what to expect but we were greated by a very friendly man at reception who was called Mr Nick. We then went to our room expecting the one bedroom studio we had booked, we found that we had been upgraded to a family apartment with 2 bedrooms, 2 balconies, bathroom and small kitchen area. There was a large basket of fruit and 2 small bottles of wine waiting for us as well. The following moring we went for breakfast in the hotel, it cost £6.05(cyprus) for myself, my wife and little boy, it was great, an all you could eat breakfast buffet with evreything from cereals to a full cooked breakfast, fruit to greek yoghurt and nice coffee as well. Very nice food and friendly staff. That night we decided to have an evening meal at the hotel as well, £17(cyprus) for 3 of us, again all you could eat, very nice food and with the evening meal came a voucher for a free breakfast!!! We had booked self catering but you could upgrade while there or book meals on an ad hoc basis. The hotel was very clean and the maid service was great, rooms were made up daily apart from the bank holiday monday. There was a swimming pool, nicely kept gardens, bar area, in fact it was a very neat self contained hotel complex . We could not work out why our travel company had told us we could not stay there, there was even a kids club(Eddie and Heather) they seemed really nice and looked after our little boy really well. All the staff at the hotel were always friendly and helpful and always made sure everything was ok. I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to stay in Limassol or in fact Cyprus. Ok Limassol is perhaps a bit more built up than say Pahos but it is in a good location to go out and explore, get a car and just drive (shop around for a car). It is about 45min-1hr from Paphos, Larnaca, Troodos and about 1 1/2 to Ayia Napa and Nicosia. Beaches to visit, Curium for the waves and the ruins on the sea cliffs, Governers beach for a dabble at snorkling and Larnaca to watch the planes land.
Also get out to a proper Cyprus kebab shop(away from the tourist areas), great food especially the Sheftalia Mmmmmmmmm.
We like Cyprus and have been going for years but have always stopped with family, we would definitely go back to this hotel.
Exchange rates are always better in Cyprus and it is very easy to change sterling travellers cheques or cash at banks or even a lot of shops. They do get the EURO next year though.

First week fantastic, thought we had made a great choice appart from the digger noises the other side of the wall from the pool. 2 nd week went from bad to worse they started shutting down things a week early as they was shutting down for a refit after we had gone, started with the pool bar & pizza express, then all games out of arcade then the settees from the lobby, tables taken out of restaurant whilst we was eating lunch and so on, the food wasnt as good the second week. The plans for the newly refitted hotel looks really good, but you think they could have waited until we left before they started.

We stayed at the Atlantica hotel & gardens for 1 week (7th to 14th oct), and had a fantastic time, the hotel itself has 3 blocks in an L-shape plus the more quieter gardens block across the road. Evening entertainment was good some nights and not so good on others but generally for the time of year the club reps did a very good job.We stayed on a half board basis which for us was just right with the food being so much better than we expected, suffice to say our choice of hotel couldn,t have been better.Going out was straight forward, you walk down to the main road and catch the no.30 bus which takes you the length and breadth of the Limassol seafront, we rather enjoyed visiting the old town ,having lunch by the historical limassol castle and bagging a bargain or two! Back to the hotel, the swimming pool was a little smaller than the brochure pictures but we managed to swim plenty and have loads of water fun with the kids. Overall we definately recommend this hotel to anyone who has a family or even couples. This hotel is currently 3.5 star rated but is closing sometime toward the end of november for a 25th anniversary refurbishment with some major works and general alterations being made before they reopen May 2007.The Atlantica are going for 4 stars come May 2007 and personally cant wait to come back! Finally an interesting note for anyone planning on coming to this hotel,If your thinking on booking through a travel agent, get their price, dont commit to anything and contact the hotel direct, you WILL save a huge amount!! The amount of money we paid our travel agent for 1 week we could,ve had two weeks with £450 left over, food for thought, anyway were booking direct now for two weeks with the hotel for August 2007. p.s.the hotel takes as little as 1 days room rate (£63 2007 prices) as a deposit to book your 1or2 week stay with them with paying the balance over the phone or internet or even paying the balance in full upon your arrival. Happy holidays.

I stayed in the Atlantica Gardens with my boyfriend. It was the first time we had been away together. I booked it as a surprise for him and so was grateful when we had a wicked holiday.

The hotel is split into the hotel part and across the road is the gardens complex where we stayed. We had a large room with two bedrooms!!! One would have done! We had 2 balconies, and overlooked the garden part. This part of the hotel was just across a road from the main hotel. We spent most of our time in the hotel part, the swimming pool was massive, although it was very busy when we went and so was sometimes annoying when all the best spots for the sunbeds were taken... but we just moved about and followed the sun.

This hotel is definately for couple and familes, i would not recommed this hotel for groups of youngsters wanting a partying holiday. We were self catering, but all inclusive would be good here too.

There are lots or bars and restaurants on the main road which you can walk to. You can jump on the number 30 bus which runs every 15 mins up and down the whole shore of Limassol.

The beach near the hotel is small but if you walk along a bit you can find a nice spot! The whole length of the shore isnt beach, alot of it is rocky but you can find some nice spots!

Limassol waterpark is very good, definately recommend it.

I had a lovely holiday and the staff are very friendly. The hotel is having a refurb to celebrate 25 years, so when thats done should be lovely!

There are lots of water activities during day, water aerobics, volleyball, basketball!

Overall had lovely holiday....... and so did my boyfriend!

We booked all inclusive but were put into the Gardens part of the hotel which is the self catering part of the complex, we were glad of this because it is a much quieter part of the hotel.
We asked for a sea view and got one, our balcony was bigger than most with a great view over the garden area. The room itself was quite large with plenty of storage, the fridge is free when you are A.I. The self catering facilities is the only thing which let the room down, there is just two cooking rings and a kettle and basic pots and utensils. I can't see how people on self catering manage to prepare even the most basic of meals.
The Gardens Hotel has its own pool which although is smaller than the main, it is much quieter and you can always guarantee on getting a sun bed. The pool area also has its own bar.
There is also a main bar downstairs at the hotel, so if you want a quiet drink it is perfect.
You are able to use all the facilities of the main hotel aswell, so you can use their pool, gym etc. We found that getting sunbeds here wasnt really a problem, there always seemed to be plenty available. (this was probably due to the time of year, we were told that the two weeks before we arrived that it was nigh on impossible to get a sunbed ) The pool itself was nice and WARM usually they are really cold but this was was just right, it didnt really get crowded whilst we were there.
The food itself was great, there was quite a few different things to choose from each night, however if you go looking for vegetables you might be disappointed. However there was always different meat dishes and a few times a week there was theme nights (ie) italian and cypriot. Although the childrens selection was poor, just burger, chips and pasta most nights.
The entertainment was rather poor, its perfectly adequate for the children but theres not much for anyone else. We watched a magic show, but most of the illusions have been done before and was a little tired looking.
The location of the Gardens hotel is down a side street so we didnt hear much traffic. There aren't many beaches close to the hotel, but we walked to the Dassoudi beach about 15 minutes up the road, its grey sand and warm water. If you want to go into Limassol centre just hop onto the number 30 bus, the drivers are a little crazy but its better than walking 8km (believe me!)
There are plenty of bars and restaurants nearby to choose from.
We didnt opt for any trips but instead hired a car for two days and went to Paphos to see Aphrodities Rock, Kourion and The Tombs of the Kings. We drove to Ayia Napa the second day to check out the beaches.
The main hotel is to undergo extensive remodeling over the winter, so it would be interesting to go back and see all the changes.
Overall I would visit this hotel again, as we really enjoyed our week here and really wished we had booked to stay for two weeks as one isnt really enough. Cyprus is a place with lots to do and see with wonderful weather. We are hoping to come back next year.

We have just returned from two wonderful weeks at the Atlantica Gardens. Although we booked the Atlantica Hotel we were put in the Atlantica Gardens across the road. We were not disappointed. It was much quieter than the Atlantica hotel, the pool was smaller, but with a lot less people it did not matter. The gates to the pool did not open until about 7.00am so no-one could reserve beds before then. There always seemed to be a few sunbeds spare during the morning. The quiet bar at the hotel was excellent. Not many people from the main hotel ventured over. A must for a quiet drink without entertainment. This is the second time we have stayed at this complex and would definitely return a third time! The food was fantastic with something to please everyone (even our vegan 15 year old daughter and fussy 11 year old son!) The Atlantica Gardens is quiet and the Atlantica Hotel is not. Something to please everyone and all age groups. We did not find the cats a problem, even my husband who hates them! If you leave them alone, they don't bother you.

Rooms and air conditioning are really good. The food is generally excellent.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. Nearly out numbered by cats though.
But!
The two pools are not as big as they seem in the pictures and the policy about reserving sunbeds does not happen as we found out! People are getting up at 5.30am to reserve sunbeds because there is just not enough especially for people with small children who want to be near the shallow end and kiddies pool.
Apart from that everything you want from an hotel complex is there.
