Avillion Holiday Apartments
Ranked #1 of 15 Paphos B&B and Inns
Reviewed 1 November 2011

This was our first stay at Avillion Holiday Apartments. We booked a studio for 3 nights and we where very happy when they upgraded us to a one room apartment!
The property lays on the front side of the busy Chlorakas Avenue. We had a room that was facing the main room so yes we could hear car noise, mostly during the day. The bedroom though was at the back of the apartment, not facing the main road so we did not have any trouble to sleep.
Generally the apartment was very clean. The cleaning lady was there every day to clean the rooms.

The apartments are modern designed with spot lights (my suggestion to the owner is to invest to led lights. We could see many spot lights that where not working and they consume a lot of electricity).

The Kitchen was well equipped with a small refrigerator, electric kitchen and oven, kettle etc. The only major thing that is missing is a microwave.

On our reservation we asked for an extra bed for our 3 year old child but we where very disappointed to see that the extra bed was actually a very uncomfortable sofa that turns into an uncomfortable bed that no one could ever sleep on that. I mean the sofa was very uncomfortable and hard even to sit on!!!
So our little one was sleeping with us in the double bed but we where all squeezed and not
having a relax sleep. The good thing is that even though they charge 10 Euro per night for an extra bed finally they did not charge us. (My advice to the management is to get decent extra beds. First they should try sleep on that sofa :) )

The bathroom was not big. It only had a shower and not a bathtub .

The Hotel advertise that they have satellite tv. Well they don't! The only satellite channel was BBC, 3 local channels and there was one channel from NOVA sat that the staff at the reception was changing to what ever channel they wanted to see at any time.

The location of the Hotel is very good if you have a car. You can easily go from there to many places like Pafos harbour, Coral Bay, Latsi etc. There was a bus stop outside the hotel and the buses looked to pass frequently.

Other hotel facilities: there was a nice pool, a playground for children with grass, i don't know
if there was wireless internet, free parking on the back of the hotel.

Generally we where very satisfied staying at Avillion. Value for money!!!
Probably we will stay again there for that range of prices, but they should conceder changing a few things to make things better (for sure they should change the extra beds).

Room Tip: Try get one not facing the main road.

I stayed here for a week recently when I was working in Cyprus. The location is just outside Pathos, and on a very busy road. The staff I found to be unfriendly and lazy. There was a male member of staff who seemed to run the bar, but all he did was sit and drink with his friends every evening, watching football by the pool. On Sunday eveing I asked why my room had not been cleaned and the bed made and I was told "it is the cleaners day off". I thought that perhaps I should have a day off paying for the room. We had collegues arriving throughout the week, and the staff seemed reluctant and impatient to wait for them to let them in. They wanted to go home as soon as possible and not welcome their guests. The pool is nice enough, and the rooms are clean and pleasant (apart from Sundays), but there is no atmoshphere and no service. Oh, and you have about 5 resident street cats that try to eat your food everytime you sit down.

Not in the best location (on a busy and dusty road) but inside the courtyard a tranquil haven. We chose the one-bedroom superior and were not disappointed. Very spacious and clean plus the bonus of air-conditioning. It's a small appartment complex, only 14 units but everything is well-cared for. Only little point of critisism is that the matrasses are very hard and the sofa in the livingroom is quite unconfortable. Avillion is outside the centre of Paphos, but we had a rental car so that wasn't a problem. For the ones who don't have a car: the bus stop is right outside the door! This bus runs frequently, as we noticed, and goes directly either to Coral Bay or into Paphos. We have relatives living in Cyprus, so this place will most probably be visited again by us.

My husband and I stayed at the Avillion Holiday Apartments between 25th May and 3rd of June and had a fabulous holiday. The apartments themselves are new, really clean and fully equipped with air con, tv etc. The apartments are based on the Tombs of the Kings road about halfway between Paphos Harbour and Coral Bay, but there is a bus stop directly outside the complex with buses running to Coral Bay, the Harbour and the Old Town about every fifteen minutes. The complex is only small and so is ideal if you want a relaxing, quiet holiday with easy access to Paphos town if needed. There is a lovely little courtyard bar by the pool which serves food and drinks until about 7pm, there is a restaurant /tavern directly opposite the apartments that serves lovely food and drinks on the evening. The most redeeming feature about the Avillion is the staff, they were so friendly and helpful but without being over the top. I would definately recommend these apartments, particularly for a quiet, chilled holiday.
