I have eaten here 3 times and the food is reliably good. Unfortunately, the service is reliably poor. The waiting staff seem to disappear for long periods of time, so that if you need anything there is no-one available to help. I waited a good 10 minutes for a bottle of water to arrive at the table after ordering. We didn't have starters and waited a long time for our meals to arrive. Again, when we wanted to get the bill it was difficult to catch someone to ask. The location is good and the menu varied, so if you are happy to take it very sloooowly - you'll probably enjoy.

My wife and i arived with high hopes having seen such good reports. We ordered a carafe of house wine whilst browsing the menu and I had to go for my beloved Sifado (although finding a genuine one is hard these days) After waiting quite some time in anticipation the waitress came and said `sorry no stifado left` Could have told us a lot earlier this must have been after sitting there 15-20 minutes. So i decided having never had it before and maybe now never will again to order pork afelia described as cooked in wine and mushrooms. I thought this sounds nice. What i got was obviously some lumps of pork from a kebab skewer which had never seen any sauce in its life, let alone been cooked in one. I left most of the meal, it was poor! and it all took ages, spoilt one night of our hols.

We unfortunately found the Gourmet Taverna in the last couple of days of our holiday in Pafos. We ate their twice, and both times were excellent, the food and service were first class. The first night we ate we were so impressed we booked a table for the following night. We found that their menu was not the normal dishes everyone else was offering, and everything was homemade. We were even offered an amouse bouch to begin, of leek and potato soup, nice touch. You may have to wait during busy times but it is worth it and fresh prepared food does take time. We will definitely return to this restaurant well worth it.

We ate here 3 times during our 2 week holiday which is unheard of for us. The Cyprian food is fabulous. Of special note is the meze which, unlike some other places we went to, was very well presented quality food - not just plates of sloppy dip.

The service was also really good with the waiters remembering returning customers. We never reserved a table and always got one outside where we wanted to be. Maybe that was because we tended to dine around 9pm.

We waited twenty minutes for a table even though there were lots 'reserved'. Service was desperately slow - we didn't have starters but were there for two and a half hours - and the food was okay but nothing special. This restaurant needs a reality check and should stop relying on easily impressed tourists. On the plus side, the house wine was really good.
