We went here as the reviews were good. How disappointing this visit was. There is nothing traditional about this pace at all. I think it relies on the quirky surroundings to impress people. The starter arrived but there was no garlic taste to the tzatziki so I asked if thee was any more garlic to add. This was not possible. The Moussaka was tasteless. Extremely disappointed. We also pestered by a cat.

We went to this on the basis that it was off the beaten track, and the reviews on Tripadvisor were fairly good. It was probably not the right night, as although it was quiet, service (even at 7 pm) was slow and indifferent. With two other tables taken, we waited 10 minutes for a drink order (not really a problem, but given that our host was just cleaning and stacking glasses, not a good start).

The menu was not extensive, but looked good - nice Greek food. We had a shared portion of giant (i.e butter) beans to share to start (nice sauce) with freshly baked bread, folowed by Atheniya (chicken fillet with cream sauce and rice) and a kleftiko. The chicken was nice, but bland, and the kleftiko was dry, overcooked and fibrous (could have done with a sauce to hide that overcooking). The restaurant itself is set in a nice courtyard, which could be lovely, but it lacked any enthusiasm or real atmosphere. A shared starter, 2 mains, a bottle of beer (no draft) and a carafe of local wine at Eu35.

Disappointing, as it has a lot of potential. On top of that, they seemed to have run out of a lot of courses (the table next to us came especially for a legendary orange cake, but all they had was chocolate, not even ice cream - and this was 8 pm!)

We wanted something traditional and that’s exactly what this was. We had the meze for two and experienced lots of delicious little bits and pieces. Finished off with a lovely bottle of dry red wine and pudding. A really lovely evening. Thank you ☺️
