This is a lovely hotel right on the beach and central to paphos harbour and shops
The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble

However we were surprised to find that there were no tea or coffe making facilities in the room

We stayed at the Annabelle Hotel for 10 days from 26th June, and we got married there on 2nd July. The hotel is absolutely fantastic and we had an amazing wedding day.

The location of the wedding, on the wooden deck, and the hotel gardens are stunning, our pictures look wonderful, and its hard to imagine a nicer location. Sally, the hotel's wedding co-ordinator is brilliant - very helpful, friendly, organised and efficient.

The service from the staff at the hotel is wonderful, nothing is too much trouble, they spoil you from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave.

The hotel itself is lovely, and we plan on returning as soon as we can. The gardens are beautiful, and the pool area is lovely and clean and quiet.

We ate each day in the Fontana restaurant, the food is beautiful and the setting of the restaurant is lovely.

Our room was lovely, with an excellent view of the harbour and sea from our balcony.

We would recommend this hotel to anyone who wanted a top class hotel for a holiday in Paphos, and especially for anyone who wanted to get married in Paphos. It is quite expensive, but you do get what you pay for. The only slight downside is the cost of the drinks at the bar/pool bar/restaurant, however, as this is a 5 star hotel, you do expect them to be expensive!

Just spent a week at the Annabelle. Absolutely brilliant, everything you would expect from a traditional 5 star Cypriot hotel.
The staff, without exception, were warm and friendly and the service first class.
We ate mainly in the Fontana buffet restaurant on the terrace. Each night had a different theme, superb food with wide ranging choice.
Loads of room on the sunbeds and in the pool with no kids creating mayhem!
Our room had recently been redecorated and had great views towards the harbour. While not overlarge it was adequate, afterall who wants to spend their holiday in their room.
The drinks in the bar were not cheap but thats the price you pay for 5 star service. Would recommend the house wine for dinner at 20 euros, a good solid local red.
Only disappointment was the lack of entertainment in the Byzantine bar. There was a large TV showing football in Greek with no one watching! Bring back the live entertainment and encourage more guests into the bar.
Going back again later int the year for our thirteenth visit.

Stayed at Annabelle for our Honeymoon. I have read some amazing reviews about The Annabelle, however I am now assuming they were written by some of the many old folk that gather there! No offence to the old folk but we wanted a little bit more atmosphere instead of an unwritten rule of "lights out" by 10pm!
Bit of background about us.....I am 27 and my hubby is 31. We hate anything garish, tacky, too loud etc! What we do like is music (and not the headbanging kind you find over at Bar Street!) The Annabelle failed to entertain on any level...oh, apart from the classical pianist of an evening until 9pm! What the hotel is lacking is a bit of ambience! A bit of Barry White, Luther in the background wouldn't have gone a miss!
Dont get me wrong, the hotel was lovely. No complaints there but I would say it was also overpriced. We paid £1100 each for BandB 10 nights. For the same price, we couldve got a similar class hotel anywhere in the world! The staff are lovely, the maidss clean the room each day and turn it down each night wich was a nice touch. We have no complaints over the cleanliness, staff or service, location. (however do watch out for a particularly narky member of staff called Cyprian!) Our gripe is value for money and lack of atmosphere. In this hotel a bottle of wine (Persefoni) is 26 euro!! WOW!!! We bought same botlle in Paphos with our meal for 15 euro and same bottle in the supermarket for 5 euro!! The Annabelle really do like to rip you off!!! To rub the fact they rip you off too they also have the owners son pulling up in his brand new Lamborghini daily!!!! Yep - the amount we spent there in 10 days, Im sure we now own his front wheel at least!!!!! Also, they charge 17 euro to place items in your own room fridge!!! If this isnt bad enough, they charge you to replace the item you just bought from the mini bar back into the fridge!!!! Ouch!!!!!
Paphos itself is a little strange! It lovely down by the harbour. Food was always lovely but then again no music in any of the eateries (not even a bit of background music!) So we found ourselves having to retreat to the even quieter hotel at 10pm! One night we did go into Bar Street where there is music but this is like being in Falaraki on a club 18-30!!! The problem with Paphos is that there is no inbetween!
If yu are anything like us and would still like to visit Paphos, I would recceomend The Elysium! If you have already booked the annabelle then I would suggest The partner hotel next door, The Almyra Spa as this is where we spent our days as the annabelle was full of kids! We read on here that it was the other way around. Plus the almyra seemed to have more younger couples. Almyra also has a great gym and pool area.

Thank you for your comments, following your stay with us at Annabelle. It is important for us to receive feedback, even if it is indirectly.

Annabelle is a traditional property and it fits more with the needs of our clientele to provide low-key entertainment. You are correct in saying that we limit entertainment to early evening only, but this is done, as over the years we have more requests for a tranquil and peaceful environment. As you were probably informed, we only have a pianist on certain evenings, a duo on other evenings and a traditional Cypriot night with music and dancers once a week. Being within the lively town of Pafos, it allows guests who prefer “louder” entertainment to find more options around. However, we are respecting the preferences of most of our guests by keeping it discreet within.

Five star hotels, all over the world, have higher prices in food and beverage items, as they are proud of the atmosphere, attentiveness in service and environment that they provide. This is why Annabelle has regular guests who return year after year. One of our regular guests also owns the luxury car you noticed in the parking lot, just like other guests who also rent luxury cars during their stay. It is important to stress that our owner’s son is only ten years old, not even able to apply for a driving licence, just to avoid any misunderstandings.

Another point we would like to clarify is regarding the use of the mini-bar. What you will find in your room, is not a fridge and is not meant to be used as one. Many of the items provided within (wine, chocolate, etc) can be affected by the high temperatures that Cyprus enjoys, and we apply a charge for guests who empty their mini-bars in order to discourage them from doing that. Annabelle (as most 5-star hotels) does provide a mini-bar but not fridges.

Thank you once again for all your comments. We would have loved to clarify all the misconceptions during your stay, as we could have helped you to enjoy your week even more in that way. However, we are still grateful that you chose to stay with us in Annabelle this year and hope that you may return in the future.

Just returned from a lovely week having travelled with my father, stayed at the Annabelle. The hotel overall is very good, as all the reviews here have said. First off, the not so good bits...
We thought the hotel was in two parts; a bit of an old part, where we had a rather dull room in need of a refurb, as the decor although traditional was shabby in parts (the hotel balcony had peeling paint and was old, the corridor had a rather dull lighting, and carpets and a the odd stain on the walls. We had a courtesy room when we left, due to having a flight later in the day, the room was fantastic in comparison to ours and overlooked the pool, so we felt a bit disappointed having spent alot on this holiday. Our standard room was to the side of the hotel but we could see the sea and the neighbouring hotel, the Almyra, which is also owned by the same people/company as the Annabelle. Sadly we had alot of staff from the Almyra walking up and down outside their hotel with a squeeky trolley or rattling bottles which was quite annoying late at night. On a good point, we had a nest of kestrels in the palm tree outside the window, this was lovely to watch if you like nature. As with all five-star holidays I have expereinced, the hotel gave out robes and slippers and a nightly turn-down service with a poem card on the pillow but when the rooms are shabby this seemed a bit of an over-compensation. The staff are extremely friendly and at breakfast are so friendly and helpful, that it can be a bit annoying to have different staff keep coming over again and again and replace the napkin and ask if you require anything further. The pool is great and the gardens lovely, the sunbeds are a bit tatty as are some of the umbrellas, they could do with a separate children's pool as peace and quiet is in small measure when noisy children are in the pool. (sorry if you have kids but we were away for a rest!)
There are plenty of sunbeds with hotel towels, the hotel shop is understandably pricey.
I was recommended to have the Meze meal at the hotel, this was very good and each of the seven courses is very large (dinner plate size) and we couldn't do it justice even though we had not had a lunch! So be warned as you won't be able to finish it. The meze and two 'Keo' beers was 108 euros! the most expensive hotel meal we had. I wouldn't have bothered as it was way too large a meal for us. Lunch menu is 14 euros for a small chicken salad and ice creams are 4 euros. Please be careful with the prices and signing for things for your room tab, especially around the pool, as prices differed according to who served you, as we were charged 11 euros for two half beers one day and 9 euros for two pints the next day!? I queried this but nothing was done. The same goes for the man who stocks up the mini bar; we knew prices would be extravagant but we were nearly charged for a bottle of red wine we didn't have, so check when you get into the room just what is there as the red wine wasn't (I had a real time explaining this) so I gave up on the mini bar and bought wine & nibbles from the local supermarket - which had everything and was very good. Having lived in Cyprus, its fair to say Paphos is a chav city, with lots of pubs advertising England games and Grand Prix, (similar to Aya Napa to the East of the island) you get the picture! A real 'Kiss me Quick' place but for two pints of beer in the street cafe I noticed was 3.45 euros. A bit different to the pool bar! There is a restaurant across the road (The Adelaide) that did a three course meal for 14.50 euros, this was a very nice basic meal and very, very popular and worth the money. We were told about this by the taxi driver who picked us up from the airport.. he was obviously on commission but we checked it out anyway. There is a fish eaterie in the town near to the supermarket which is very good value and quite nice fresh fish but nothing fancy - chips if you want!. The hotel doesn't have much of a beach and there are rocks and a small patch of beach near to the front of the hotel, but a beach nevertheless!
Pahhos has had investment and now has a long path to walk from the harbour past all the hotels along the front, this is well lit and very pleasant to walk off a large meal! I would probably not visit this hotel again, as I like a beach and as said earlier, parts orf the hotel were very nice parts weren't, so it's pot luck where you have a room and therefore what experience you have here. I would recommend the beautiful gardens and the decking area over-looking the sea is also nice. The breakfasts are fabulous and cater for all tastes. I noticed the dining area/restaurant has beautiful white decor and dining outside overlooking the gardens and the sea views are spectacular. Shame about the room but a nice week's break all the same. 6/10.

We had our wedding ceremony and reception at the Annabelle and we had the most fantastic experience. The staff were extremely helpful, efficient and friendly, the food was gorgeous and the setting to die for.

All this was overseen by the hotel's excellent wedding co-ordinator, Sally, who provided an unobtrusive guiding hand for the whole event. Nothing was too much trouble and, although the price was not cheap, we felt it was excellent value.

I would urge anybody thinking of getting married in Paphos to consider the Annabelle for their event.

We stayed in the hotel for 2 nights and the rooms were comfortable and well equipped. We had an excellent breakfast on the terrace both mornings and the range of food options was extensive.

We have just returned from a fantastic one week stay at the Annabelle. We have had a brilliant week - so relaxing. The staff at this hotel are wonderful, nothing is too much trouble. The food is excellent, we had breakfast and dinner in the hotel and the choice and quality of food was great. I need to enrol at weight watchers again now! Drinks with dinner tend to be a bit on the expensive side - 5 euros for a small bottle of water and 20 euros for the cheapest bottle of wine. The hotel is in a good location close to the harbour and overlooking the sea. There are several bars nearby - Pinguino (good cocktails) and the Seagull (good place for lengthy lunches overlooking the sea). Point to note - you don't need a travel adaptor for the Annabelle - all 3 pin plugs in our room - UK voltage.
