I always like to write a true review, The hotel was ok, as a budget hotel it was a roof over my head as I was not spending alot of time here, the only thing was at night the other residents slapping doors and it was a tiled floor so u cud hear chairs being moved all the time, very over priced food and drink thou I came across a bar just up from the hilltop called the Odyssess and u cud get a full english breakfast for 4 euro which was sausage, bacon, 2 eggs, beans toast and 4 wotever reason chips, furniture in hotel very out dated, beds were changed every couple of days, cant really complain but as I say ok if just staying a short time

We stayed here for a week in the middle of October 2011 and like other reviewers had read some mixed reviews but we were pleasantly surprised at how good the accommodation was. It was very clean and tidy, spacious, and in quiet surroundings. The room we were first allocated (C7 on the ground floor) was disappointing as we had just one small frying pan and a steamer for cooking, the gas cooker left much to be desired - the gas wasn't contained by the ring and went high into the air, dangerous in our opinion, and the patio area wasn't private enough so we asked to be moved to a higher level and we were able to do this the next day. We had a sea view and a first rate gas cooker with adequate cooking utensils so we were happy after that. No sign of cockroaches, just a few mosquitoes which latched on to me as usual but if we'd paid out for air con no doubt I wouldn't have had that problem. One day we found a lizard in the bath but hey, live and let live!!

The hotel was near an Aldi store which was great for bulk buying but you could get tins for individual meals such as spag bol, spag rings, baked beans, hot dog sausages, etc, in a supermarket just a bit further on and quite cheaply. The hotel's mini-market was fine for emergency provisions but a bit expensive although they were very accommodating and happy to open when we arrived at 10 at night so we could have something for breakfast. The pool was OK, plenty of sunbeds around it and the pool bar catered for snacks as well as drinks. Reception responded well to any query or complaint and basically staff couldn't do enough for you.

2 Euros buys you a day ticket on the local buses which is a great deal and we travelled about quite a lot on this. We also had a coach trip into the Troodos Mountains in response to a flyer found at the local bus stops - £20 euros each. They did lots of other trips as well.

We would quite happily return as it's centrally placed for touring the archaeological sites in the Paphos region. Perhaps we would hire a car next time.

Room Tip: There's more privacy and you feel more secure on the first or second floors.

A good place to stay. At the end of October, attending a family wedding, we found the facility to be a relaxingly peaceful oasis. Well away from the main road, in a quiet cul-de-sac. Plain, simple furnishings. Spacious living area. Hot water a bit hit and miss, otherwise nothing to fault. The rating system jumps from 'average' to 'very good' but does not have a 'good' tick box - if it did I would have placed the 'cleanliness' and 'rooms' in that category. Unhesitatingly recommend the Hilltop to be good value for money, out of season, budget conscious accommodation. Well worth considering as a comfortable, self-catering, serviced apartment in which to spend the winter months. Helpful front desk. Friendly staff.

We spent a very pleasant week at the Hilltop Gardens. We only paid £19 per night for a 1 bedroom apartment through Roomratecompare.com and it exceeded our expectations
.Check in was 5minute job and we were taken to our first floor apartment. Had cooker, toaster and electric kettle. There was always plenty hot water and for a change, the wardrobe had plenty coat hangers. Aircon was available if needed at 5 Euro, as was a safe at 2 Euro per day. The apartment was cleaned 5 days out of 7 days, towels every 2nd day.
The swimming pool was kept very clean and there were plenty of loungers. Drinks from the bar were cheap too - beer 1.90 and glass of wine 2 Euro.Food wise only really snacks All theop Hillt staff very friendly, as were all the guests, the week we were there.
A good choice of bars and some really nice restaurants were about 400 or 500 yards on Tomb of Kings Rd. 3 courses + couple of drinks each around 20 Euro a head- great value
Its also worth hiring a car for 3 days (about 100 Euro inc insurance) to see some of the many tourist attractions. They drive on the left, just like the UK and the roads are good.

Arrived at the Hilltop Gardens Apt open-minded after reading some good and some bad reviews on here. We emailed to get directions and we managed to find the Hilltop very easily driving from the airport. The Hilltop is about a 10 minute drive from Kato Paphos and is just off tomb of the kings road which has big selection of restaurants and kiosks to choose from.

When we got into the reception area we had to wait a while for someone to come to see us but it was our own fault..i never noticed the wee bell you ring for attention!! A friendly male came and checked us in and took us to our appartment C12....we stayed here for 2 weeks.

When we got to our appartment we were happy with what we saw. We were on a first floor apt. overlooking the entrance to the hotel and the front car park. We were in a 'Studio' Appartment. You have a kitchen area with a fridge/freezer, cooker, sink area and cupboards and you have some utensils to use. There is a dining table with 4 chairs to use also. In the living room area you have a sofa, 2 chairs, table and tv. We had a balcony with 3 chairs and a table and plenty room to pop up a rope to dry your towels on. We had a seperate bedroom area which had a large wardrobe in it and twin beds and also a dressing table area with drawers and bedside tables. In the bathroom you have a bath with a shower over it.

Yes the furniture is a little dated but they do what they are suppose to do and being in a place as beautiful as Paphos..you aint gonna spend most of the day in the apt. The appartment was clean and we got it cleaned and got fresh towels/linen every few days. The lady we serviced our place didnt speak much english but was very polite and friendly.

The cold water in the bathroom stopped working on about our 3rd day so we reported it to reception and as it was later in the day we knew it wouldnt be fixed that day but first thing the next morning the maintenance guy was right in to fix the problem and we had cold water in no time.

There is a good sized swimming pool and has plenty of sun beds too. There is also a small shop that has a good selection of goods for you to buy. If you want air-conditioning you have to pay 5 euros a day for it, which isnt too bad and you'll have to leave a 20 euro deposit at reception, for the tv & air conditioning remotes and you get the 20 euro back on your departure. There is plenty of car parking spaces if you have a hire car.

After we did a days shopping and sunbathing we sometimes would sit on the balcony and play cards...it was very peaceful most of the time except the odd car going by as the appartments are off the tomb of the kings road but you don't really hear the cars from the main road.

We only had one small complaint and that was on our last day...we had gone to reception to ask a question and rang the bell but no one came so we went to the bar just to ask if someone was on the reception and the girl at the bar just waved us away as she was too busy talking to someone which we thought was a bit rude. If there was no one at reception she could of said that she only works the bar and we could come back later which we would of no problem.

Otherwise the hotel was peaceful and quiet (But if you are at the front you may hear the laundry delivery come in a couple of times a week at about 8.30am and he uses a loud trolley but it only lasts about 5-10 mins) The Staff were helpful and the apt. is just right if you need somewhere clean and simple for a sunshine holiday. We would consider returning to the Hilltop Garden Apt when we go back to Paphos again next year and would recommend the Hilltop to other friends.

So if you want a simple, clean, quiet self catering Apt. then i would recommend the Hilltop.

Thought the furniture was dated and the rooms tired, the bathroom was clean no manky fittings except the type you would find in Greece,ie no shiny taps and the shower head being a little clogged. The staff were fantastic nothing too much trouble we had no water one afternoon my husband went to reception and came straight back with the handy man who fixed the problem in 5 mins. The beds were comfy and changed twice while we there and the towels. We enjoyed our stay there maybe a bit far out from eating and drinking, but Lidl was near at hand and we found a great eatery just past Lidl called DT's house wine carafe 7 euros no meals above 14 euros and portions were huge, not a big choice but what was there was excellant

staff friendly and helpful. not just room but a suite, sofa, two chairs, table plus 4 chairs, fridge and full size cooker (no extra charge), balcony, bathroom with full size bath, and separate bedroom. what more do you need.?? OK the furniture is old fashioned but you are not buying it. How long are you going to spend in the room anyway. you are meant to be on holiday. One of the best low-end price hotels that i have used.

Room Tip: had a corner site which was described as inland view but could see the sea. nice and quiet.
