My partner and i married in Cyprus this year, although not at the hotel, i would still recommend it. Originally we were supposed to stay at the Coral Beach Hotel but decided to change, and we are so glad we did. What an amazing hotel, with brilliant, friendly staff.
From the moment we arrived we were waitied on, nothing seemed to much trouble. As it was our wedding / honeymoon we had our room upgraded free of charge, we were then taken to our room where throughout the day we were brought bottles of champagne.
We were B&B basis and the selection of food was like nothing i have seen before, salmon, champagne, three different timed boiled eggs, fresh fruit, pastries, cheeses, meats, you name it they had it.
The pool area was spacious and clean, with a lovely private beach and bay. All the staff were so helpful. I really cannot rate this hotel enough.
Food and drink was very pricey, we paid 15euros for two milkshakes, and the evening meals were very pricey, but worth every penny, i would certainly recommend half board.
The gym facilites were very adequate, and there are exta classes put on at an extra charge, there is an indoor swimming pool.
Overall this hotel is the best in Cyprus, agreed by all the locals. The location is a slight downside, walking distance to Paphos Harbour but a bus ride to Coral Bay. Local buses are a euro per person per trip, and every 15 minutes, very well priced compared to the taxis. I would love to return to this hotel and cannot pick a fault in it, a perfect wedding or special occasion location.

Very nice comfortable hotel. Staff are excellent, as other reviews suggest.
We ate at the buffet every night, even though there were other restaurants in the hotel we could have gone to. It was perfectly fine - not high cuisine, but a wide selection of salady-type things and meat and fish dishes. The desserts were to die for!

The hotel has a good range of spa and exercise options (gym, tennis, etc) which we didn't use - all we did was slob around the garden / pool / private beach (the sea is protected by a barrier so is as safe as it could be).

Good points:
1) the beds. They are huge!! Wonderful. I didn't get kicked in the head by my husband the whole time we were there!
2) the ambience - the hotel and grounds are designed and kept spotless
3) the staff - friendly and very efficient

Bad points:
1) Beware of service charges / tips for drinks or food in the bar or in the grounds. The menus say that service is included, but the bill has a large space for 'tips'. Well, which is it? I could have done without that sort of psychological pressure on holiday.
2) the hotel's internet charging policy is daft - I had to send three emails a few days apart, and because the charges are per 24 hour period (10 euros!!!) midday to midday (not a useful period in its own right), and not 24 hours total access it cost 30 euros to send three emails. The charges changed whilst we were there - but only to 5 euros for one hour or more for a 24 hour access. Fortunately there are lots of bars in Paphos port and on the main road a few hundred metres from the hotel with totally free internet access. I discovered this too late. But it is clearly not a problem for these bars - so why is it such a problem for the hotel. It felt like profiteering.
There was no GPRS in the area that I could find, so I couldn't use the email on my phone.

Points about the area
Good points.
1) Hire a car and drive to Troodos mountains - absolutely wonderful. Try and pick a day where visibility is good - you can see for miles.
2) There is a lovely fish restaurant overlooking the harbour at Agios Georgios about 15 miles away

Bad points
1) the 'real glass bottomed boat" trip that you can take from Paphos harbour was totally underwhelming. A complete waste of money. 10 euros for about half an hour, and the only underwater things of interest were a few bits of metal from a wreck that sunk in the 1950s and a place where sponges grew. Once you have seen one sponge you have seen enough.
2) car hire is extortionate. We declined the company offered by the hotel and went to Chris' in Paphos harbour. We hired a wreck, but it was a third of the price. It did the job.

The grounds are pristine. When we entered the grounds, it reminded me of a massive Vegas style resort (think Wynn or Bellagio). Everything you could possibly need you will find at the resort, which is a good thing considering the location is not in the center of town.
The staff at the reception desk could use a bit of an attitude adjustment. Other than the front desk, the service was excellent. Everyone from the bag porters, to the restaurant staff, and particularly the pool and beach attendants were lovely. You needn't lift a finger while outdoors having your chairs, umbrellas and side tables set up to your liking.
It did seem to take a while for drink orders, but it wasn't too terrible.
The restaurants were adequate and the breakfast buffet had something for everyone. The gentleman at the omelet station had a larger than life presences and was absolutely delightful.
The accommodations at the Elysium are very comfortable, the bathrooms were lovely, spacious and clean. The amenities were lovely.
The gym is one of the best I've experienced at a hotel, and the spa is fantastic.

We got married at the Elysium Hotel and it is truly beautiful. In all we spent 2 weeks there and couldn't fault anything apart from the cost of drinks etc which we expected. It cost 10euros for a small child size pizza and your talking 8euros a cocktail. 3.75 for a bottle of water ! I must say though that the food is lovely. I did here there was problems with the swimming pool water and my 4 year old son was with the string of children suffering from an ear infection, so the ear plugs are a very good idear. Although , I to witnessed more chlorine being added to the water. There's not much in the way of restaurants and bars around the hotel so we was travelling by bus down to the harbour which made a nice change. The no15 bus you can get cost 1 euro to go back and forward. The cleanliness of the hotel itself is of a very high standered. I wore my wedding dress all around the grounds and inside of the hotel and it was still spotless after. The cleaners came in upto 3-4 times day so change our towels and leave little sweets , they even put slippers by your bed of an evening. The kids club is very good and alot of the kids really enjoyed going and making biscuits , playing uno and creating t-shirts. The lady who runs the kids club is wonderful as are all the staff cannot do enough to help you . Don't be put off by any bad comments . This hotel is amazing and we would love to go back again .

We stayed here for 7 days and enjoyed every minute.
What makes this place is the service the staff fantastic, from the chef at breakfast, to the
room stewardess and everyone else they really want to look after you.

The food is of top order in all the restuarants, we tried room service just as good and held in a hot box till you are ready to eat. Tried the BBQ buffet outside lovely watching the sunset and eating well. They do a dine around which we wished we had taken it up as it would be really worth it.

In the lounge is a display of cakes stunning in both taste and visual looks and coffee is made fresh great after walking around pafos.

Local dining is of good to indifferent or if you have hired a car go further out and get some nice tavernas and prices. Though there is a big Kentucky Fried Chicken joint at the top of the road!!

We both had a spa treatment really good and very professional loved it.

Ok the beach sand is black but they built a barrier so no really big waves and for the snorkelers plenty of fish all sizes to see and watch near the barrier and rocky edges.

We would love to come back and it will stay in our minds for a long time.

They have there own chapel on site and that would make this a great wedding venue.

Thankyou Elysium for such a great stay

We stayed at Elyseum for 4 days and was really sorry to leave. The hotel and its grounds are really nice but what is really outstanding is the service. Everyone is doing its best to serve or be helpful with a smile. Fantastic breakfast and a cheerful start of the day by the smiling people serving.
Drink prices not more expensive than other less fancy hotels in Cyprus.
The only minor comment I have is that pools are not more than 1.5 m deep and so water temperature under the August Cyprus sun gets too warm for comfort.
All in all a truly fantastic stay and will surely visit again
