“P-Y-R-A-M-O-S let the rhythm take you over!”
Reviewed 14 November 2013

I'm really grateful to Trip Advisor as you can get a general idea of a place before you try it out for yourself and - the reviews here did not disappoint. Much of what is below has been said before but I hope this review provides more insight into our personal experience of Pyramos Hotel.

The décor of the hotel is grand, beautiful and modern and I was DAZZLED by the fact that this was only a two star hotel. Were it for the ground floor interior alone, this would easily register as a three star stay. Unfortunately, the splodges of dirt on the carpets upstairs ruins this illusion but I'm sure (and I hope) this will be sorted in time.

Perfectly situated about 5 minutes walk from the Harbour and local amenities, Pyramos was near enough to the 'life' and activity of Kato, Paphos but at a distance that allowed for peace and quiet when required.

Upon arrival we were greeted by 'NICK the barman' and he kindly helped us with our luggage without hesitation. The other gem of Pyramos was ORSI who, from the start to the finish of our holiday was on hand to help with a range of queries having accumulated a good knowledge of the area. She was a very pleasant and lovely member of staff.

The room was big enough for us but good luck if you are a pound overweight as quite frankly you will have trouble fitting in the cubicle of a shower. I wondered how some of the obese guests managed to wash themselves and I could only surmise that they did it limb by limb popping each one at a time in to the shower.

We didn't have the most spectacular of views and found ourselves facing the back of a shisha bar and on one occasion we noticed a PEEPING TOM staring over directly into our room - which freaked us out for the rest of the duration of our stay. Unless you want Jack Nicholson from the Shining staring over at night, make sure you close your curtains when you have the lights on.

The television channels were limited but we enjoyed watching CNN world news. The bed was comfortable but we couldn't get the air conditioner to work. We were thankful for the free lockable storage in the room.

The STARS of the Pyramos show were no doubt the three cleaners - especially the two young girls who did a spectacular job every morning of cleaning our room to a high standard - we very much appreciate the effort that they made and can say with confidence that our rooms were pine fresh every morning. I hope they are earning a decent wage because they deserve it and it can be put towards their Education (one girl tried her very best to speak English, bless).

We feel that one way to immediately improve Pyramos hotel would be to offer a wider variety at breakfast as the slices of cucumber, tomato and processed cheese did not suffice in the morning. I lived off the marble cake that was offered for a limited period but would have appreciated some cheap cereal such as cornflakes - my stomach was not used to this sparse breakfast.

Overall, a very good experience. Thank you Pryamos and I hope you do take these comments on-board so that you may get more business and perhaps and extra star!

Best wishes

lechatnoir

Me and my Wife stayed here last week for her 50th,Having Trusted Trip Advisor Sites Reviews, and we must say we where not Disappointed. The Hotel May only be Ranked as a 2star Hotel, But the Hospitality and Thoughtfulness of the Staff is 5Star. There is nothing too Much that they can do for you. Orsi and Nick may have been Strangers when we arrived ,but we regard them now as Friends. Hotel is cleaned every day, and the Breakfast Lounge And Bar Area is very Modern and Comfortable. Yes we will be Back Try Stopping us. This is the GEM of Paphos. ;Shame about Result Nick.

I was there in April, and I could book a room in very good price. It was rather cheap (in the low-season) and good quality. It was like a 5 star hotel. The breakfast was enough, the staff is nice, the hotel and the rooms are clean, and the bar on the ground floor was up to par.
There is nothing I didn't like.

We have just returned from a three week holiday in Cyprus, staying at the Pyramos. This hotel is a little gem in a good location - 5 mins walk to the seashore and harbour. We arrived late evening and were greeted by Nik the barman/ evening receptionist. He was very very welcoming and we were in our room within a few minutes. The rooms are small but spotless and were serviced every day, towels and sheets changed every three days(more often if required - just ask the cleaners). Breakfast is continental style - as much as you want or you can get a full English round the corner for 1.50 euros if you prefer. The daytime receptionist Orsi is lovely and can't do enough to help. We had a small problem with the T.V which couldn't' be fixed so Orsi arranged a room swap. The hotel is more suited to adults as there are no facilities such as games rooms or swimming pool but that suited us fine. The Sky bar is a big plus with Nik in charge making everyone feel welcome. The bar is open to the street.
We had a great time here and we will definitely be going back. Cyprus is a lovely island with lots to see. Car hire is cheap and the roads are goo and driving on the left makes it easy.

We only stopped two nights but the staff could not be more helpful and the hotel was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was fine, I would have loved fresh coffee but at the price you can't grumble. The only downside was that the walls are thin and the doors bang closed so you do hear a lot but that would not put us off stopping again or recommending it to anyone.

To start with, we only paid £88 each for 7 nights so we didn't expect The Ritz! We were greeted by Nick, the barman and evening receptionist who's first task was to help break into our suitcase as the lock had been damaged during transit. The crowning glory of this hotel was the bar and lounge areas which have been built to a very comfortable, modern design, open to the street. During our stay we had drinks in there every evening, and host Nick was the perfect barman.
Breakfast was ok but the same every day, maybe if there was also a cereal on offer then it would have been great, but still, it was excellent VFM. Reeptionist and breakfast waitress Orsi always had a smile and was very willing to help us out on whatever we needed, especially the bus timetable, giving us valuable info and bus numbers which really helped.
Our room was small but comfortable, but as we only slept, showered and changed in there then there was really nothing to complain about.
The only downer was the location, surrounded by empty and some falling down properties at the end of "Bar Street". This and the absence of a pool in my opinion is why it is only 2*, but as I said, at £11 per night I'm certainly not complaining. It was only 5 minutes walk to the sea front anyway so not really a problem.
Would we stay there again? MOST DEFINITELY!!!!!
