“Nice apartments, good location, great beach”
Reviewed 29 November 2010

This is generally a small-to-medium size apartment hotel, so you basically learn the faces around you very fast, which is good as it makes you more confortable with surroundings. Helios has very helpful staff and the managers of the hotel are always out in the crowd checking if everything is going well and that guests are happy. Both girls sitting at the receprion in shifts speak well English, Greek and Russian, so it might be helpful for those not proficinet in languages very much.

I stayed here with my family: wife and a small daughter of 3 y.o. The hotel is a good place to stay for families where children need to have food specially cooked for them. As we wanted our sweet baby not to eat fries and all the other junk food available everywhere, and also not to eat so much spice that is always added to the restaurant food, we were specifically looking for an apartment with good self-cooking facilities. And Helios has exceeded our expectations in this regard! We were living in a studio, and it has a very good kitchen (although it is officially called kitchenette as it is not a separate room). Once we have even used the oven to prepare some fish and it was great! In the kitchen you'll find all the things you would need, only the ingredients themselves shall be bought.

Overall feeling from staying at Helios is very good if you intend to find a quiet place with self-cooking amenities and great sea. Definitely Helios is a great value for its money.

We have just returned from Helios Bay Hotel. I've lost track of how many times we have stayed there - this was our second trip this year. The Tooulias family make you feel at home; always on hand to have a chat or give advice. Beautiful gardens, stunning views of the sea and mountains, perfectly located for sunsets. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Will be returning as soon as we can.

I took my elderly parents to the Helios Bay Hotel in October. When the coach dropped us off they helped my parents with their luggage. We had a ground floor appartment right beside the pool which was perfect for my parents. It was not fancy but had everything we needed including a kettle. The sunsets from the pool bar & upper floors are stunning. The gardens were lovely. It has a tiny shop open 24 hours so you can get essentials no matter when you arrive.
Everyone was so friendly & helpful. It is family owned & run & Grandpa (aged 89) came over every day for a drink & a walk. They organised a hire car at 1/2 the price Thomas Cook wanted & gave us good advice on where to go. We also went by bus to Paphos twice. The buses are every 15 minutes & stop right at the door & only cost 1euro some even go to the airport.
There are 3 restaurants very nearby We had lovely meals at the friendly Wisdom & Sienna but did not try the Indian Restaurant opposite.
The small supermarket next to wisdom opened & closed late but further along there was another that opened earlier.
Thre is a lovely walk along the coast heading south.
We visited the Tombs of the Kings & the mosaics in Paphos; drove north to Polis, the Baths of Aphrodite , Latsi & Pomos; drove up to the Troodos; went a boat trip to Lara Bay ( booked at the hotel); Ayios Georgios & Lempa. Allvery interesting

We had a very relaxing stay at the Helios Bay. The appartment was well equipped and comfortable, very clean and was properly maintained throughout our stay. The staff were all very friendly, courteous and helpful, especially those at the pool bar. No fighting for sunbeds here:-) The pool was great and the beach just a few minutes away. We liked being that little bit out of town but still having the option to visit tourist attractions and shops when we wanted to, the bus-stop across the road was well used. The Wisdom and the Sienna were both lovely places to eat and the New Horizon for a drink in the evenings. During the day the pool bar at the Helios had all you could want. I have a feeling we will be making a return visit.

Just arrived back last week from beautiful Helios Bay Hotel. This was my second visit and I have already booked for next Spring! The holiday was brilliant as it was a quiet or as lively as we wanted, due to the bus stop being outside and the fare into Paphos only 1 Euro each way. We had some lovely meals at both Sienna and Wisdom restaurants next door as well as on the barbeque nights in Helios Bay. Where I must say the food was absolutely gorgeous and very good value for money at 12 Euros for food and entertainment. the poolside restaurant was great in the day for snacks and lunches and all the restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful, as were the receptionists and other hotel staff we came across. The rooms were spotless and very comfortable with everything anyone could need to cook a meal if they wanted or just chill out on the balcony. We saw glorious sunsets on most evenings from our balcony which faced west. As anyone can see from all the previous testimonies, including a previous one from me following my earlier visit, Helios Bay continues to thrive and to offer excellent value for money in these straightened times. Paphos is a beautiful part of Cyprus and Helios Bay Hotel is situated in a particularly beautiful setting with the panoramic views of the sea. I will look forward to visiting again next year and I'm sure I'm becoming one of the returning visitors Helios seems to foster. I don't normall go back to the same place, but this place is perfect if you just want to chill out in a lovely setting amongst friendly and kind people with all the comforts of home!

Took the grand kids to Helios because we knew that it would be a convenient and safe place to visit the local beaches and taverns. The beaches at Coral bay were ideal for the kids to play in and the local taverns were brilliant in making sure that they got something they would like to eat even though it was different to what they are used to at home. The grand daughter aged 4 is normally very picky but even she ate calamari (ringos) and other local dishes.
The hotel appartments were great with plenty of room and good views of the bay. Hopefully will get back next May, this time with my father who I would love to show the local treasures at the Mosaics and other places of interest.

Just back after another holiday at this gem of a hotel. I can't remember how many times we have been back but we are well behind the 25/30 times veterans !! Once you have been to the Helios you will always go back; it is simply that good.
The constant upgrading of the rooms is to be commended and the cleanliness, always a strong point of the Helios, is outstanding.
Nicos, was, as usual, the very essence of the perfect owner, nothing, but nothing, is ever too much trouble and he always ensures his guests have a wonderful holiday.
Don't hesitate, BOOK NOW.
