Stayed in last week of June for our 25 Wedding Anniversary, and we are so glad we picked this fantastic hotel. Best all inclusive we have ever stayed in, everything you could want from a holiday.

Food- you can eat from 07.00-21.00 in the resturant , and pool side bars from 10.30-17.00 with a marvellous chinese buffet from lunchtime (closed wednesdays). Food is outstanding all fresh and hot, so much choice you dont know where to begin. deserts to die for. Drinks from 10.00 to midnight, help yourself to beer in pool bar, cocktails great and big choice. Drinks from midnight to 01.00 but you have to pay then. Terrace great to sit on on hot evening or lovley bar inside. Computer Juke box free to chose your own music.

Pools- brilliant main pool, second quieter big pool, fantastic childrens pool indoor pool. water slides great fun for adults and older children, spent lots of time on these.

Rooms lovley room adequate for time you are in them, very clean, room cleaned and beds made every day.

Paphos has lovley harbour to walk around, must go to market. Bus costs 2 euros for all day nice for a day away from pool. If you walk out of back of hotel there is also a sandy beach 2 mins walk, very shallow water and nice for the kids. Coral bay has a nice beach and makes a change from the pool.

Staff are very helpful and will do anything to help you, waiters work so hard, and the animation team work all day and night. If you dont want to take part they do not hassle you. Life guards at all pools and very attentive to make sure everything is safe.

English 3 pin plugs and every one speak perfect english.

All in all a brilliant holiday such good value, and good for both couples and families.

Dont take any notice of any negative reviews of this hotel, because if you find fault with all this hotel has to offer, then you must be very very sad.

This was our first holiday abroad with our 20 month old, it was a lovely hotel to go to with a family and kids of all ages. The food was lovely and always plenty of it, lots of fresh fruit and plenty of choice.

Pools clean and plenty of sun beds with umbrellas for a bit of shade. Staff very helpful and friendly, hotel rooms and surroundings lovely and clean would definately recommend it and will definately look to return there.

Everything about the Phaethon is perfect. The rooms, the preople who work there and the food - the best in Cyprus such a choice and so well cooked and presented. We go every winter and so look forward to it.
Indoor pool, sauna, jacuzzi, steam room gym all free as are the towels. Brilliant. This hotel deserves 5 stars. It has recently been refurbished so is even better then before.
Love the place.

Room Tip: All rooms are good.

We stayed at the Phaethon late June/early July 2011 and had a great time. The hotel was always very clean and unlike other reviewers we didn't have any problems with the other guests- clearly must have slept through it all!

The staff were always very polite and friendly, particularly the bar staff. Yes I agree sometimes it did take a few minutes to get a drink but that's mainly because the bar staff liked to have a chat to guests- which all adds to the atmosphere if you ask me. It wasn't as if you ever were thirsty!

Our thomson reps whilst they were polite and friendly, didn't really offer much and the 'intor meeting' was a waste of time. It was very scripted, blatantly trying to sell you their trips more than providing information we needed. Incidentally, unless you want to cross the green line, the trips on offer can be bought much more cheaply down in the town than via the rep- we took two trips on the Wave Dancer boat cruise (one during the day and one at night) and paid around £30 less than we would have had we gone with Thomson.

The rooms were cleaned on a daily basis though they are very small (I would not like to be a family of four in one). The air conditioning unit wasn't great and for one of our nights (when it was around 37 degrees during the day) the heat kept me up. The newly refurbished sinks aren't the greatest of design- if you turned the tap on too low, the water never quite reached the sink and instead poured onto the work surface and onto the floor- this also hapened in the ladies toilets which made the floor very slippy.

The food in the restaurant was of good quality but we were quite shocked when we saw things like beef and yorkshire puddings on the menu. We're not a couple who like to travel 2500miles to get the same food as we would at home, though from what we saw we were clearly in the minority. They did do theme nights and I recommend their Cypriot night. Service in the restaurant was a little too much like a canteen at times, with staff removng plates when you hadnt even finished your last mouthful- not very relaxing.

The pools were nice, always clean and pleasant-and the pools for the kids were great, I was a bit jealous of all their play items! Also agree with other reviewers that the life guards were always on the ball.

The hotel itself is the last one on the outskirts of Pafos and is a good walk outside of town, though a bus is available outside the hotel for a Euro. Pafos itself didn't really have that much to offer (again it was too English for our liking, doesn't have that much in way of authentic cypriot experience) and it seemed very very expensive but that maybe the low exchange rate- we were certainly pleased we went all-inclusive. We ate out just once, a two course meal for two with very bad wine set us back around £60.

Would recommend visiting the Tombs of the Kings and the Paphos Mosaics- very maginificant if you appreciate history and really cheap to get into, though as they are very exposed it's best to go first thing in the morning or towards the later part of the day as it gets incredibly hot.

Dear guest,

We thank you for your comments about the Louis Phaethon Beach.

We were pleased to read that you appreciated the cleanliness of our hotel, our friendly staff and our pools. Regarding the food, we understand your point of view, but we try to serve a wide selection of food in order to cater for all our guests, therefore, you can find some typical english meals in the restaurant.

Regarding the service in the restaurant, we apologize if you felt your dinners were rushed, we actually remind our staff on a weekly basis, not to clear plates before the whole table has finished eating. Following your comment, we will have to do so again.

Your other comments regarding the air condition will be taken into consideration for improvement.

We look forward to welcoming you in one of our hotels soon.

Kind regards

Just returned from a week at the Phaethon Beach. This is a great family hotel with great facilities for children.

Hotel rooms pools and public areas are great. Rooms have plenty of storage space, but would have been improved if they also had a fridge, this would help especially if you have children.

The hotel is in a good location and has a regular bus service right outside taking you to the centre of Paphos.

The hotel staff all work very hard keeping the hotel clean and also giving great customer service. This hotel certainly needs some improvement to really deserve and give their clients what they have come to expect with the Thomson 4T rating. We have stayed in many Thomson all inclusive hotels before and have had no grumbles before. We have never before had to supply our own pool towels, neither have we had to pay for the use of the room safe!

If liquors including brandy and triple sec are offered on the all inclusive, then please dont water them down so much to make them undrinkable, such a waste. The food was OK, although only offering the buffet on an evening was a shame, as this soon became monotonous as there was not a lot of variety to choose from. How about a Greek Taverna or similar for a weekly visit as found at other all inclusives around the world. Salads lacked variety and a choice of dressing would have been nice and some show cooking would have been an advantage, just a few small aditions to the dining experience would have made our stay so much more enjoyable and not have sent us scurrying to the nearest taverna for half of our stay!

Ice cream all day was also a nice touch, which we have only experienced once before in Mexico, as was help yourself to beer soft drinks at both the pool bar and restaurants where wine was also included in the self service bar. Breakfast was OK if you timed it right, but most times food at breakfast was at best luke warm, and the coffee machines, well they must win first prize for the slowest dispensing coffee machines in the world, and thus large queue's quickly formed.

Would we return? We will certainly return to Paphos, but sadly this hotel would have to improve its standard of food before we would consider it.

Dear guest,

Thank you for taking the time to share your opinion about the Louis Phaethon Beach.

With the amount of positive comments and awards our hotel has received the past 2 months, your slightly negative review has come as a surprise. Especially the part about the food. We offer buffets 3 times a day, at breakfast, lunch and dinner. At lunch, there are even 2 buffets: one inside and one outside. Moreover, there is a Chinese restaurant available to our customers.
Our salad corner has been very popular all summer and there is always a choice of 4 dressings: cocktail dressing, french dressing, italian dressing and balsamic dressing.
In addition to these, there is a wide selection of refined oils and vinegars.
Finally, as we are sure you may have noticed, in between meals, we serve snacks, like freshly made burgers and freshly made baguettes (there is even a choice for vegetarians). So as you can see, food is available at Louis Hotels from 7am until midnight non-stop.

Thank you once again for your comments.

Best regards
