My friend and I got back from the Phaethon on 27th Nov 13. We had the best Holiday in years. Even though we just chilled, and relaxed. We both felt exhillarated at the end of our stay.
The Management and staff are very hands on, and nothing was too much trouble. The level of service was superb, and so very friendly and approachable.
As for the food, 'DELICIOUS', something for every taste, from breakfast through to Dinner. Can't understand why anyone could complain about it. Once again the service was excellent.
Our room was kept spotless. Although rooms are on the small side, they are very comfortable. Just one thing, I think it might be better if they keep A/C going through to November, as rooms are warm. However, saying that, we asked for a fan, and one was sent up to our room immediately.
Just can't praise the Phaethon enough, can't wait to go back. We Loved it!!!

Room Tip: Think we'd try a corner suite next time. We were in 2032, but it had a great view of all going o...

My wife and I have just returned from a weeks holiday at this hotel. This was our first visit and we chose it because of the sequence dancing which takes place 6 nights a week during the winter months commencing at the beginning of November.
I have to say that we were greatly impressed by the all inclusive package which is excellent value for money. I will not go into any great detail as much has already been said about the hotel facilities and service.
I would however like to comment on the dancing which takes place there. We didn't know what to expect but were soon put at ease in a very informal and relaxed atmosphere. The dance floor is in a separate room adjacent to the main entertainment venue. Dancing takes place between 7.45 pm and 9.45 pm. each evening led by Dave and Margaret Berry. There is a mixture of ballroom, modern sequence and social sequence. Because of the mixture of dances we found that we were regularly on the floor with dances we knew. I am sure our fellow dancers found the same even though their preference may have been for ballroom or modern sequence.
We hope to return next year at the same time when no doubt we may again meet some of the great crowd we met who are regular attenders.

Thanks to Dave and Margaret for a great holiday.

Dear guest,

Thank you for sharing your views of a recent holiday at Louis Phaethon with the Tripadvisor community.

We are delighted that our ballroom/sequence dancing was the highlight of your stay and it's true that it is a very popular activity at this time of the year. We are also happy that other aspects of your holiday like the value for money of our all inclusive package were to your entire satisfaction. Hopefully both of the above are enough to entice you back to the Louis Phaethon next year.

Returned to the Phaethon to complete our Christmas holiday which was interrupted by my husband unfortunately being hospitalised due to an irregular heartbeat. Food was excellent, particularly the Steak and Mushroom pie at Dinner time & the Chinese style food at lunchtime. Particular thanks should go to the tall, long haired lady on reception (whose name I did not make a note of) who changed our room within 30 minutes of arrival to one with a much better sea view.
Two members of the restaurant staff who deserve a special mention are Meroula, who always spoke and remembered us from last year, and Thanasis who always made a point of speaking to us and asking if everything was OK.
The entertainment team worked very hard as usual with George as crazy as ever.
The weather was very good for the fortnight we were there, the only slight criticism being that the aircon in the rooms didn't work. I believe it was turned off at the beginning of November.
Another bonus this year was that the fridge was free. Given the amount of money it costs to go on holiday it's a shame the wifi isn't free as it is in most hotels. That aside I've got no complaints about the hotel or the holiday particularly as I won 220 euros on the bingo.
Will go back to this hotel again.

I did my research before coming to this hotel and it met our expectations. I don't understand why people moan at the silliest of things. I don't see the problem with not being given your own towel for the pool if you read trip advisor then you know to take one problem solved. People who moan about ants and mosquitos which cannot be helped even though the hotel tries if you report it to spray your room for you. People who moan about air conditioning being switched off during their out of season, we just opened our balcony doors it had a nice cool breeze at night, and i saw people being given fans sorted, and again the moan of the size of the room at the end of the day i don't spend my holiday contained in one room, i like to actually venture the hotel and its facilities and venture the island, a rooms for sleeping in and freshening up and for sitting on the balcony having a drink, another moan was the planes making a noise, but if people did their research they would know its situated by the airport, me and my partner loved watching the planes coming in while we were in the pool, another grumble i read was the cold pool, don't be a sissy and just get in i thought it was quite refreshing, and the beach people moaned about its not the Caribbean !! we just went on a boat trip that went to nice beaches, right i will get to my report.
My only problem i had was booking with Thomson first time so i know next time i will book through another company but thats not the hotels fault for Thomson's incompetent reps while there.
The hotel wasn't far from the airport roughly a good 40 minutes at a guess so one of the first drop offs which was great.
We were greeted with friendly reception staff a basic form had to be filled in which was nice and easy to fill in, we sat down and took in the view of a lovely reception area and bar and we were given a drink of champagne and my partner had a bottle of Keo which both tasted nice, I was then told that a table would be sorted for my birthday in the dinning area which was a lovely gesture.
We stayed on the first floor and we had a view over the pool and sea which my partner had told me he emailed the hotel before hand and asked for a sea view and they kindly gave us one so it was beautiful at night. The room was clean and plenty of drawers to put things in, the English plugs were a blessing too. Had plenty of lights and mirrors in the room and a fridge that was good, you can also have a safe at €3 a day which most hotels charge for safe so found this not a problem. The room had a hair dyer too so that was less for me to pack for my holiday, they had extra pillows and sheets in the cupboards so that also was good. You needed your key in a slot by the door to control all your electrics so there was no chance you were going to loose your key another positive.
Bar service was good you could order as many drinks as you wanted all inclusive and the drinks were laced with plenty of alcohol and the cocktails seemed to be our favorites, we liked spending the holiday going down the list. All inclusive included liquors, spirits and mixers, keo beer, cocktails, non alcoholic drinks so there was always something to try, you have to pay for drinks after 12am so get your drinks in before that :), also you had to pay for labelled drinks like baileys and whiskies etc... Think mainly around €5 which is expensive but they have to make their money somewhere so its best to go all inclusive, the food was good plenty to choose from but we did go out some nights to try different things as it did get repetitive towards the end of our first week. On my birthday they took us to our own table with champagne in a bucket, some flowers and a candle and lantern and balloon and also a lovely cake which they sang happy birthday which made me smile, also they very kindly boxed up the cake so we could enjoy it back in the room, We had some nice walks to the harbor it is a good half an hour but don't worry if you cannot walk it as outside the hotel there were regular buses at €1.50 one way to the harbor and other places they ran till about 11pm so we had some good nights out at the harbor. They had a shop in the hotel but found the magazines were cheaper at the supermarket down the road. The entertainment was good and Dido was hilarious doing the bingo, the dancers worked hard all day by the pool arranging games and dancing at night, they don't have much time to themselves so i bet they get quite tired and you always see them smiling so good for them, the pool area was very spacious and tidy and they have lifeguards around the pool so i felt quite safe, they had a pool bar which opened and closed some days depending on weather as some days were breezy and slight thunder when we were there.
So my overall view of this hotel reasonably priced to come and stay, warm and welcoming hotel, cheerful and hard working staff, nice food, plenty of alcohol laced drinks, clean and spacious hotel, entertainment good, plenty to do in and out of the hotel, nicely situated near the bus routes, i would come back here but i do like to try other places around the world. But you just never know as i do miss the place already, and it was me and my partners first holiday together so we throughly enjoyed it :)

Not usually one for revisiting hotels but after last year , we just had to. Cannot speak highly enough about the hotel and amenities with it's very friendly staff ( and abundant food)

The clincher for us is the dancing 6 nights a week with leaders Dave and Margaret ( who also run four lessons on up to date and social sequence dances over the week) . At night there is varied programme of dancing split evenly between ballroom , up to date sequence and social sequence so there is something for all preferences. A great social crowd where we met up with a lot of repeat guests

Hotel looks far out from Paphos Harbour which is 40/45 min walk but the bus stops right outside the hotel with a 1.50 euros each way or a 5 euro all day ticket which allows you to roam all over the area if you wish . Personally , we walked in and bussed back out

Shame that Thomsons have now stopped the Glasgow flights until Spring . We are already planning to return next year

Room Tip: A high floor and a low room number to keep you towards the centre of the hotel . The hotel is very l...

We have just returned from our first holiday at the Phaethon and we plan to go again next year. The hotel, food, staff, rooms, entertainment, if fact everything, and, especially for us as sequence and ballroom dancers, the dancing program was fantastic. Dave and Margaret were superbe as dance MCs and really made the holiday for us. Just one word of caution, the food is so good that you will need elasticated waistbands!!
