Just returned from one weeks break at the Avanti, we had read the reviews before going and had mixed thoughts on what our stay would be like!!! however it was as reported a hotel very much in need of a revamp the carpets were very worn and marked, the room was basic, the food was basically awful breakfast the same each day with no favour or taste!! limited choice of fruit and if something had run out no more came out of the kitchen!!! The room and hotel also had a lot of ants of which the hotel seemed to do nothing about. Our first room was very noisy above the hotels main air conditioning units but we only had to suffer the noise for one night as i wouldn't move from reception until another room was found.
The hotel did have a lovely large pool (needs new sunloungers very uncomfortable!!) and spacious gardens that were kept very well. The hotel is ideally located to walk into the centre of paphos. I believe this hotel is due for a refurbishment over the winter lets hope it is refurbished to 4 star standard

we stayed in the avanti village apartments just because we find it easier to please ourselves with having young children. The facilities were excellent for families, the apartments were very spacious with air conditioning and cleaned every day. The reception staff were very helpful and on hand 24 hours. we were married at the avanti hotel which is just accross a muck track or a 10 minute walk along the main road. we booked a wedding co-ordinator through our travel company but wish we had'nt as the hotel manager and staff were amazing and could have done everything through them. If anyone is thinking of marrying in cyprus we highly recomend the Avanti hotel and to just go through the hotel manager as he will cater for your every need. The food we had for our reception was a buffet which consisted of a salads and appetisers to start then roast beef, turkey and pork with veg, rice and potatoes for main then a dessert table that had no fewer than 5 different desserts as well as a bowl of fruit. The whole meal was delicious with no complaints from all 42 of our guests not even the kids. so if this is anything to go by i'm sure the hotel food in general is very nice. the hotel is kept spotless. I was very pleased with the room i was given to get ready in, it was spotless and had air conditioning. literally on the door step there are bars and restaurants and its about a 40 minutes walk to the harbour. We will definatley return in the future.

Just came back from a week at the Avanti hotel. We were given a room on the 5th floor with lovely pool / sea views. Would reccomend anyone to upgrade to a room with a view if possible.
We stayed on a half board basis and found the food lovely, always a different selection of food on offer. The salad starters were fantastic with a varied choice of mains and great puddings. Drinks in the hotel werent too expensive about 4 euros for two glasses of wine or 10 euros for a bottle.
From talking to the hotel sales manager (im a travel agent so met him while I was there) He confirmed the hotel is going to be closed for a referb over winter, all rooms are getting laminate flooring and repainted. Along woth other referb jobs.
As it is a family run hotel with the sister hotel the Avanti Village nothing is too much trouble. If you need a lower floor, or a room that sleeps 4, intorconecting rooms etc a quick email direct to the hotel should sort out your needs. The hotel gets a large amount of repeate guests and I can understand why.
Yes it may not be the best 4* hotel ive stayed in but the room, service, location, and overall holiday experiance is fantastic. I can not fault at all.
The beach is just across the road, its quite small, not much sand but great for sunbathing on teh surrounding grass. There are plenty of bars and restaurants around the hotel, can highly reccomend the Black Rose. We ate our lunch here almost everyday and was lovely.
The harbour is about 15mins walk away and if you want more lively bars / clubs these are set back (hard to find!!!) from the costal road that leads into the harbour.
Overall a great holiday and I would really recommend. Infact ive just booked my parents for Summer next year!!!!!!

Hotel best in the area, used by many groups including cyprians for weddings and functions which says a lot.
Food varied and of good standard. Staff very helpful and most speak English.
Pool and mature gardens better that most.
All in all a very well run hotel.

Just returned from a week at the Avanti Hotel and was disappointed to find the hotel looking a bit 'tired'. Our room was clean and but certainly in need of painting. The carpet was badly marked and the bathroom needed updating. The in-room safety deposit box can be hired at a non-refundable cost of 14 euros per week - this is the most we have ever paid and usually the cost is refunded at the end of the holiday. We were half-board and found the food to be good and varied with occasional theme nights. Daytime and evening entertainment was poor - however, this is maybe because it is getting late in the season.

We heard from one of the locals that the hotel was soon to close for 3 months to be refurbished. I am sure when it reopens it will be restored to its former glory!
