My wife and I spent a week at the King Jason in Paphos. We were warmly welcomed from the time we arrived eve though it was well after midnight due to a delayed flight. The apartment was very clean, adequately equipped and regularly serviced. The pool areas are well maintained and the hotel is family friendly. The hotel staff are all obliging and courteous. The manager Andreas is ever present and at hand to make everyone comfortable. Maria in reception is amazing and made our stay all the more worthwhile with her warmth, friendliness and helped us with drawing up an itinerary for our holiday. We would definitely return to this hotel for a break in the future. Very good value for money.

It's definitely testament to excellent service when you return home from a holiday and miss the staff you met more than the holiday destination itself and the sun!

After staying in the King Jason for the first time between the 8th and 16th of July, it is a fair assumption that we will be returning next year! We based our trip primarily on the excellent reviews here on trip advisor and we were not disappointed.

After arriving at the hotel, we were given a cold drink on arrival and had our cases taken to our standard double apartment (apartment 49). The standard double apartments are comfortable, clean and extremely pleasant. The only slight negative with our apartment was that as a "double" apartment we were slightly surprised that the double bed consisted of two mattresses pushed together, meaning that rolling over in the night meant a risk of falling down a gap in the middle! I must say that we didn't feel this was a big enough issue to raise with anyone as we were so tired after each day that it didn't affect things too much. Based on the customer service we did receive, I have no doubt that if we had raised it as an issue, it would've been sorted immediately. The only other minor issue we found during the entire week was that the outdoor area for room 49 with the two chairs and a table sometimes had rubbish and ashes (presumably from the kitchen) blown on to it by the wind. Again - this only happened two or three times and was not a major enough issue for us to feel it necessary to report as we barely spent any time in the apartment during the day.

We booked the holiday as half board - so breakfast and dinner were included in our price and the range of options for both are fantastic. Breakfasts include a range of options every day from full freshly cooked breakfast, pancakes, waffles, fruits, yoghurts and bakery items. There are four fresh fruit juices to choose from as well as hot drinks and water.

There are seven dinner menus rotating throughout the week. Each dinner menu has 7 or 8 dishes which are freshly cooked for dinner. There is a different soup each evening for a starter, these are delicious. The wide range of main courses are also excellent, particularly on gourmet night.

However, what really sets the King Jason as a class apart from other hotels/apartments is the customer service. Every single member of staff who we encountered on reception, behind the bar, as waiters/waitresses were fantastic, and the owners (Andreas & Maria) go so far beyond the call of duty. Special mentions must go to Dumitry on the main reception and Socrates, one of the waiters - thanks to you both for being absolutely fantastic. All of the waiters and waitresses are kind, eager to help and go out of their way to make sure that you have the best service possible.

There isn't much about Andreas or Maria that hasn't already been said in other reviews. The hours that both of these owners work are beyond belief, but the customer interaction they offer is second to none. On the day we left, our flight was late-afternoon and we were offered to swap a lunch for the dinner which we were missing out on due to travel. Every member of staff is beyond friendly, beyond helpful and extremely chatty. We want to say a huge thank you to every single one of the staff for making the holiday absolutely perfect. Socrates - if you go to Oslo - good luck!

The facilities are also excellent. The hydro-pool is excellent to relax in, the adults only pool is a lovely, chilled out area and the main pool is perfect for playing in and for kids. There are more sun loungers than there are guests so there is never a struggle to find one, the gym is well equipped and fully functional, and the shop in the resort for drinks/foods/souvenirs is well stocked. The King Jason does not claim to be a hotel full of entertainment and cabaret evenings, it is a relaxed place where guests come and go as they please.

In terms of location, the King Jason is more than adequate. It is a 5-10 minute walk to the Mall which contains Burger King, TGI Fridays, Cinnabon, Costa etc if you are wanting some more "English/American" style food during the day. The harbour is well within walking distance, and to get to attractions such as Coral Bay, the 615 bus from a nearby bus stop takes you there in approximately 20 minutes.

Leaving was extremely sad due to the people we had met even more so than going home from a holiday normally is! We could not recommend the King Jason more and if there was a higher option than 5 stars, particularly for customer service, we would be choosing it.

Thankyou to Andreas, Maria, Dumitry, Socrates, the entire team of waitresses/waiters/bar staff, and the maids who come in daily to make sure everything is clean and replace towels. I certainly hope we will be coming back to see you all again!

Andy & Soph

I visited the King Jason with a friend and our teenage daughters and we were thrilled with this hotel. Attractively appointed, contemporary furnishings, spacious accommodation, well supplied kitchenette and the most comfortable beds and fluffy pillows I've ever slept on in an hotel! It was also incredibly clean! The staff were lovely, polite, and Maria on reception particularly helpful with suggestions for restaurants and trips in and around Paphos. The night porter even got a McDonald's delivered for the girls one night! It was my birthday whilst we were there and the hotel kindly sent a bottle of bubbly for us to celebrate with! A lovely touch! The hotel has 3 pool areas, one for families with inflatables, a small horizon pool for adults only and a hydro contact pool for aged 14 and over. Our teenage girls loved it, they felt safe and met friends there. Thankfully no cheesy entertainment in the hotel or kids clubs, although the big screen TVS were on to show the World Cup matches. We self-catered, the hotel shop had enough to keep us going and a local supermarket around the corner sold scrumptious fresh fruit and bread. Fabulous time, we'll definitely be back!

Room Tip: We were in room 40, ground floor and the view was over a storage area, however it was very secluded...

We have just finished a one week stay at the King Jason. It is easy to see why people come back time and time again. The rooms are spacious and well equipped with a little kitchenette. The breakfast was great and choices varied. The hotel is a short walk from the harbour but there are regular buses and taxis cost 8 euros. The reception were always helpful and cars can be hired cheaply as can day tours. The friendliness, efficiency and helpfulness of the staff are what makes this hotel a fantastic place to stay.

Having read all the reviews regarding the hotel we were looking forward to our time here and the hotel didn't disappoint. The food was great, the rooms were smart and clean and the hotel had everything catered for. You could always get a sun lounger around one of the pools and the area surrounding is very clean. There was some service for drinks at poolside though this was usually one lad who seemed very overworked and it could often take a while to get continuous drink.

The only downside was we were on the self catering option and therefore settled a tab at the end of the holiday, in the day around the pool we were only getting small drink measures such as 3/4 pints and being charged the full whack (the hotel caters for lots of all inclusive so this wouldn't affect them) and in the evening there is no bar service - table service only.

Dear guest,

Thank you so much for holidaying at the King Jason and for sharing your views with the online community.

We are pleased that overall our hotel managed to meet your expectations especially regarding the food, cleanliness and facilities. We are nevertheless disappointed that our pool service was not to the standard you expected and rest assured that we will be looking into this issue immediately. Though surprised at your comment, we will also investigate the matter of portioning.

Hopefully none of the above would deter you from visiting the King Jason again...it would certainly be a pleasure to have you back here.

Regards,

The Management.

Just got back from our first visit to Cyprus- it will not be our last. When we do return we would have no problem in staying again at the King Jason. Previous reviews have really said it all. The staff here are excellent, and it is superbly managed making sure that everything runs like clockwork. We stayed self catering as we like the choice of different restuarants. However, the food at the hotel is very good. The pools are lovely and we always got a sunbed no matter what time we arrived at the pool.
Our 1 bed apartment was basic, but very, very clean. There were a couple of issues ( the freezer door was missing) but once reported they were sorted quickly.

The hotel is a little walk from Paphos centre but this perhaps is not a bad thing.

We loved the cats!! These too are well looked after by staff.

Paphos itself was a little run down in parts with quite a few empty units but it is a lively place with plenty of bars and restaurants. Our 21 year old found a good club which kept him out til 6.30am!

Room Tip: Over look pool.

You might be wondering what makes this little, back-street hotel with no kids club and no entertainment so special. Well, it is the comfort, the service, the food, the cleanliness and the overall ambience.
From the moment you arrive you are treated like an old friend. If you are on AI board basis and you arrive late at night they even put sandwiches and water in your fridge for you. It is little extra touches like this that make this hotel stand out.

The manager Andreas is a truly lovely person and runs the hotel extremely efficiently, aided by excellent staff. Maria, the restaurant manager is one of the nicest people you could hope to meet and together they make mealtimes almost like a big family gathering.
The food is excellent, there is always something for everyone and the desserts, oh my! All I can say is that you should expect to put on weight while you are there!

There is a good selection of drinks and thanks to the lovely Robert, a waiter service by the pool. A previous reviewer complained about getting a cocktail in a plastic beaker. Yes, they do this for drinks around the pool as it would be pretty stupid to use the real glass ones there but all drinks in the bar and restaurant are served in proper glasses.

The rooms are spotlessly clean, spacious and very comfortable. We had a one bed apartment and I think that perhaps for 3 people the storage may be pretty limited but overall the room was excellent with a free fridge and free air conditioning. You do get a hair dryer but if you have long hair I recommend either bringing your own or letting your hair dry naturally because the hairdryer provided has 2 settings: Baby’s Breath or Dante’s Inferno! Neither is efficient and you have to keep your finger on the button all the time which is annoying.

This was our second trip to the hotel, lots of people return and it is easy to see why. Since our last visit the shop has moved and a new lounge, pool and outside seating area has been added and as crazy as this sounds, the hotel didn’t really need improving but these new bits have actually made it better. The new pool is adults only and the seating area on the deck is lovely for enjoying your evening drinks.
The addition of the new area has, whilst adding to the hotel, also had the effect of making some aspects look worse i.e. the indoor pool and pool toilets which now look a bit tired. I believe, however that work is to be carried out on these for next season.

Greeks and Cypriots love cats and there are hotel cats, more in some areas than others but if you do not want to interact with them just ignore them and they will leave you alone. If you do like them though there are some that love to be stroked and a couple of the older ones that will accept a drink of water from you.

The location of the hotel is within a residential area of Paphos, you can walk to the centre within about 15 minutes or to the end of the harbour in approx 30. You are also quite close to the newly built Kings Avenue Mall. One thing we discovered last year is that it is much quicker to go out the back gate (rather than going out of reception) but the gate now closes at 11pm so if you are coming back later you do still have to come the front way. Maybe the hotel could consider some kind of swipe card/fob access to the gate for residents?

There are now 5 pools in total, an indoor one, a baby one, the Elegance adults’ only one, the main one and the Hydro spa pool. There are more than enough sun beds to go round and both times we went there was none of the crazy early reserving of beds that some hotels have. The thick sun bed mattresses are amazingly comfortable too. Mid morning you will have cold towels delivered to your sun bed; fruit will come a bit later then cake in the afternoon. The only thing we noticed this year was that the towels were nowhere near as cold as last year and the fruit now comes out at lunchtime rather than mid morning which seems a bit pointless as everyone is either eating lunch or just about to. This is me being incredibly fussy though because the fact that they bring it at all is lovely.

Overall this is an excellent hotel if you want to relax in comfortable, friendly surroundings whilst expanding your waistline consuming delicious food. We will definitely return.

Dear guest,

We would like to thank you for staying at the King Jason and for sharing your impression online.

It is wonderful to know that you deeply appreciated our high quality service, our excellent personnel, our spotless premises and rooms along with the pleasant overall atmosphere. Still, we are sorry to hear that our hair dryer did not meet your expectations; we duly note this for future improvements. As for your comment concerning our indoor pool and fitness area, please be informed that a total overhaul of the area is being considered for the winter. Finally we would like to thank you for commenting on the temperature of our complimentary pool towels and the timing of our delights around the pool; we will look into both immediately.

We hope to have the privilege of welcoming you back to the King Jason soon.

Warm regards,
