We visited this hotel as a family (including a toddler) of what was expected to be a nice weekend away from our normal routine. However, we understood that would not be the case the moment we arrived there:
1. Hotel's parking area (underground and overground) is "reserved" for members of staff, so we had to find a place to park about 0,5km away from the hotel;
2. Reception staff were not interested in assisting people walking in the hotel;
3. When we reported the parking issue to the reception manager, their reaction was "where should we park our cars?";
4. Breakfast was very poor with bread and croissants being at least 2 days' old;
5. Cleanliness of the rooms, hotel areas and childern swimming pool was very poor;
6. The room was basic, bathroom tired and the air con barely functioned (I stole this from worldtraveller7's report);
7. ....

The hotel needs a serious re-examination of its star status. I have stayed in better 3 star hotels.

I would not recommend this to anyone...

We have just returned from the Venus beach hotel pathos on an all inclusive 7 day holiday. After reading other reviews we were worry that our holiday would be spoilt but having been there ourselves I have had to write and put my opinion down. We were greeted by a very helpful receptionist who told us a cold meal had been put aside for us as we arrived too late for dinner. Our bags were taken up by a very obliging porter who showed us how to work air conditioning ect. The rooms were not the most modern but were very clean and tidy. Our breakfast was very enjoyable, and may I say I have one of the worlds most fussy eaters for a husband and he had no problem finding something at every meal. The best thing that made the Venus beach hotel stand out was the most friendliest and obliging staff we have ever met nothing was too much for them and there only aim was to make your holiday the most relaxing they could. Our thanks to Peter,Razvan, Thomas ect for doing just that.

I don't understand the great reviews for this place. I agree with a previous review that it is indeed poor and old. Anybody who reckons they have stayed at a five star hotel at this place cannot have experienced a proper five star on Cyprus eg. The Anassa, Amathus Beach or The Almyra. We booked in here for 2 nights at the end of a week's stay in a beautiful villa. We checked out after the first night. The room was basic, bathroom tired and the air con barely functioned. It was baking in the room. The pool area needs a massive update. The pool itself is quite nice but many loungers are broken and it all needs a revamp. A curious feature of a "5 star" hotel is that you are given a ticket allowing you the use of 2 towels at the pool -surely not!
Reception staff were uninterested. When he queried about us leaving after one night we just said we were leaving early. He just shrugged his shoulders and made no attempt to enquire why. We left it at that. Would never go back.

Room Tip: There isn't one!

We had a great family holiday this August in Venus Beach Hotel in Paphos.
From our connecting sea view rooms' verandas we enjoyed every afternoon the most beautiful sunsets together with a glass of wine complimentary from the hotel. Real Magic!!
Though hotel is close to the main sights of the town, we preferred spending our days relaxing in the hotel's spacious swimming pool, while our children had fun in the kids pool and kids club. The food was excellent, and every night with different theme! We are definitely going back again.

I think most people summed this hotel up perfect it's a 3 star not 5. Beware in cyprus they seem to do this a lot think when booking pay cheap get cheap there are so many 5 stars that don't deserve it. This hotel is old, dated decor miserable sun chairs ripped gym from the 80s. Staff nice, they try. The hotel needs a complete refurbish.

have got to say this was my first holiday in cyprus for my wife and i and what a lovely holiday we had . we met up with my wifes sister and husband at this hotel and on arrival were greeted with respect from the night receptionist phillip who originates from birmingham in england and with a glass of cold orange juice as it was after 11pm when we arrived. when entering our room we were overjoyed to find a cold meat salad for the two of us which was a pleasant surprise , after meeting all the management staff at a cocktail party where everyone at the hotel is invited but so few decided to attend , to their loss i might add as there was the chance to air their views and complaints to give the hotel the chance to rectify any problems they may have encountered . IN our view the hotel staff go above and beyond to make your holiday here a special one and my special thanks to you all on behalf of my wife and i, also a special mention to thomas the bar manager and his staff both inside the hotel and outside bar areas and special mention to peter, gabriel and razran , 3 super waiters, the restaraunt manager and his staff well done and a special mention to the head chef what a wonderful man who came out to see us after preparing us a steak meal for four was absolutely fabulous . all in all would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a great break, yes i might agree 5 stars this hotel isnt but 5 stars to its staff it sure is from cleaners to the general manager Memnos Sophocleous . will definately holiday here here again in the near future as i told the manager so and will email him to tell him i will be going back , would love sky television on here so i wouldnt have to go out across the road to the irish bar to watch football matches . we went all inclusive here and always had a great choice of food every day for ten days, refreshments and alchahol are available from 10am till 12 midnight so enough for everyone , dont take my word for this or anyone else on here who maybe have an axe to grind all i will say is go and try it , i dont bull on my reviews as you will see on previous reviews on other hotels, IN our opinion its a great hotel with great staff great food , its not 5 star to british standards but if you take this into account you wont be disapointed , well done to you all at venus beach my wife and i will definately be back , Gordon and Sandra Cutmore room 558

Room Tip: a sea view room is essential to take in the views
