“Not what we were expecting..”
Reviewed 21 June 2014

Food: Firstly the food was great, we went bed and breakfast and there was always a great variety including full English, fruit, cereals and meats and cheeses.

Beach: We chose this hotel because it was supposedly on the beach where we planned to spend most of our days. As soon as we got there the rep advised us to lay on the grass as you cannot actually get to the beach. It is all just rocks and seaweed, so do not choose this hotel if you are looking for a beach holiday. We were very disappointed with this. Thankfully there was a bus stop about a 7 min walk away which takes you to Coral Bay Beach (about 20 min journey) which was lovely would definitely recommend going here. There are great bars and restaurants near by, and if we were to go back to Cyprus we would stay on Coral Bay.

Hotel and pool: The hotel itself was fine and the grounds were quite pretty. There is only one pool, and if you come down after 11 you will struggle to find a bed. There are some beds on the grass but these are soo uncomfortable. The staff were friendly enough.

Harbour: We took a stroll down to the harbour one day along the beach, and this took about 45 mins for us, so we got the bus down there every other time.

Eating out: The food in Cyprus is great if you love lots of meat and fish. This is ok for me for a few nights but I would have liked a bit more variety as a fussy eater myself. Prices weren't too bad, but were a bit more expensive if you eat out at the harbour.

Rooms: The rooms are very basic and not modern, unfortunately upon arrival the toilet in our room had not been flushed by the previous occupants which wasn't a great way to start the holiday :(
We also didn't like the fact you cannot flush toilet paper down the toilet.

Overview: all in all, we did have a wonderful time but wouldn't return, we were disappointed as had expected great things based on all of the wonderful reviews. It was a nice cheap holiday, and I guess you do get what you pay for.

This hotel was amazing. The rooms were spacious and the self catering facilities were awesome. My only downside is that although it's a beach front resort you were unable to get into the sea due to rocks and slippery boulders. The pool area was great and the grass area was well kept with ample sun beds and plenty of space. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Beach front if possible. Amazing views from either ground or first.

10 night stay incorporating Daughters wedding at the Town Hall. Stayed with family and friends at Kefalos Beach Village. Daughter had stayed there a few years ago and wanted to return for her special holiday. We were not disappointed. Service, staff, location, cleanliness all spot on. We had the choice of sitting round the pool area (which was lovely and never too busy) or a few yards away, relaxing on the grassed area facing the sea. The food from the pool bar is gorgeous, varied and we found there was always to much! The rooms were spacious and comfortable. We didn't have the wedding at the hotel but Elena, the Hotel's wedding planner, was really helpful when we needed to tweak a few arrangements. Pick this hotel up and plonk it in every resort I visit in the future and I would book it every time. Thank you.

Had a wonderful stay with family at this nice hotel along beach near Pafos. Located between two World Heritage archeological sites with pedestrian path to Pafos historical harbour, the hotel offers both a good basis for visits to the surrounding region as swimming and sunbathing in the pool and sea. Accommodation is spacy and kept clean. Breakfast is average, easy access to restaurants in Pafos.

Room Tip: Rooms along the beach have nicest view (628-651 and 319-326), rooms near the swimming pool and along...

Just returned from a weeks holiday at the Kefalos Beach Village, booked through Thomson, on B&B basis. Paid extra for sea view and were thrilled to discover our first floor apartment was just yards from the sea and we were lulled to sleep nightly by the sound of the waves! The hotel staff were all extremely helpful and the hotel itself spotless, with rooms well equipped for self-catering. The supermarket on site was able to provide everything that we wanted to buy and prices were competitive. Plenty of places to eat & drink within 10/15 minute walk, varied in cost and style/cuisine. Paphos harbour & promenade, with shops, restaurants etc. half hour walk or €1.50 each on the bus. These run about every 15mins and the bus stop is only a 10 min walk away. Hired a car for two days and no problem parking on site. Great holiday, will certainly return.

have just returned from the kefalos beach village which is a really good hotel. check in was really quick and was taken by Geoff in a golf buggy to our apartment ( with a quick tour on the way of restaurant and swimming pool). we had paid for a side sea view but was amazed we had been upgraded to full sea view) what a view.. my husband celebrated his birthday while we were there ( I did inform the hotel prior to us arriving that it was going to be his birthday ) and on the day we had a bottle of champagne and a fruit basket in our room. we stayed bed and breakfast as we like to eat out and there are plenty of choices within a ten minute walk. breakfast was very good would of liked pancakes every day though. the hotel is extremely clean and rooms were spotless.you can walk the coastal path to the harbour which takes around thirty minutes. it gets very hot though in the afternoon so try the walk early morning or early evening. beautiful place to stay that I would give five stars all round. well done kefalos and team.

Room Tip: 652 full sea view at the quiet end we had the sunbeds to ourselves with an open view of the beach an...

Our 1st trip to Cyprus. We travelled as a family,me,my husband and 2 of our sons aged 17 & 10.Booked through Thomsons.
Check in was quick and easy, and Geoff took us on the buggy to our apartment which was lovely. We paid for a side sea view but when we got to our apartment we were very pleased to have been given an apartment facing the sea......which was wonderful!
We booked half board, but the apartment was well equipped for those who had chosen the self catering option.
The food was great even for my very fussy 10 year old!.Every night is a different theme,BBQ night was our fave.
The pool was great for all,my boys were hardly ever out of it,lots of games to join in with during the day.Ricco, bobby,Ramona & Taylor were great with the kids.
Evening entertainment started with kiddies disco, quiz and bingo. Then a different type of entertainment every evening. Ricco and his fire show was the best!.
The location of the kefalos was fantastic, right on the beach. My husband used to go on his daily exploring walk..... I was happy to just sit by the pool all day!!
You can get a bus to paphos harbour for €1.50 each. The bus stop is about a 10 minute walk from the apartments. We got a taxi back from the harbour and that was €8.
We celebrated our sons birthday while we were there and the kefalos organised a gorgeous chocolate cake for him (€17)!!!!
My boys loved the free wifi in the lobby area, and they were allowed an hour after dinner.
On our 1st night we had a problem with the air-con,but I reported it the next morning and someone was there within a minute to fix it......thank god.......it was very hot!!!!
We made some great friends and all the kids used to play together in the pool all day.
I cannot recommended the kefalos enough.......we loved it and can't wait to go back.

Room Tip: We had a 2nd floor room, right at the end of the complex. Room 336.
