Due to buissines, i found the apportunity to go to cyprus, and stay at the kefalos hotel in paphos, since i checked it before and saw it was the best in reviews. The location is great, near the city center and the harbour which eased my way to work. Exelent food. Nice nights took place every night, with nice tradiotional bbq on saturday.

This was the best hotel ever to saty in in Cyprus. We went over to Cyprus to get married on October 14th and we were recomended to stay here by our wedding planner Ruth from Paphos Prestige who we also HIGHLY recomend. Elena and Vasilias at the hotel were also great at helping out with our wedding day. We got upgraded to the honeymoon suite for the whole fortnight which was an amazing surprise. the room was soo nice with a four poster bed and sea views. The hotel was kept very clean and all staff were very friendly especially Sohpie and Geoff. Geoff was the best taking us to our room with our bags in the golf buggy and helping us round our room with the air con and stuff. If you had any questions nothing was too much for Geoff.

We ate in the poor bar a few time and the food was amazing and we had our wedding dinner there also which was out of this world. We were half board which meant we got our breakfast and dinner there was plenty of choice for both however we did struggle the second week. You always managed to find something to eat but it wasn't out of this world. There are so many lovely restaurants in paphos its a crime not to eat out. So we decided to just do B&B the second week. The best places we found to eat was 'the prince' for beakfast and for dinner def go to Fat Mamas, the roof top (can't mind the name), raffles, Koi-i-noor Indian (a must go).

We also went on the open top bus 1 hour tour which was really good to see what about. You get it from the harbour right on the coner and it is 10 euro each which isn't too bad. Best to go at the start of your hols so you can see what about.

Def be returning here and can't wait for when we do.

Mr and Mrs Mackenzie x

Stayed here in Aug this year. We were travelling with 2 small toddlers aged 2 and 3. Difficult to rate this holiday. No major problems but quite a few things that detracted from the overall experience.

First the good stuff. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Service at the pool bar and dinning room was excellent. I'd rate the food about 7/10. Small problems in the apartment were fixed very quickly. Gardens were well looked after and general maintenance of the hotel was good. The highlight of the holiday was the outdoor BBQ which had a good atmosphere and we really enjoyed it. The kids mini disco was OK. They would have liked to have seen some of the shows but because there was always bingo before the show it was too late for the kids to stay up meaning we missed them too. The pool area was clean but a bit crowded at high season. There was a small kids playground near the beach which was a big hit but could have done with better lighting for night time play when it was a little cooler. There was also free wi-fi in the reception area which was great. (Surprised at just how many youngsters travel with laptops these days !)

First issue I think the hotel has is location. Its right on the beach but its not a good beach for kids.. Although there is a relatively new sea-front promenade that links the hotel to Paphos I would not recommend trying to walk it during the day in high season as its just too far in the heat. The hotel is surrounded by vacant plots so not much to explore on the door step. There is a five star hotel a few minutes walk along the promenade if you want to see how much you can spend on one round of drinks. The bus stop on the main road is about a 7 minute walk. Might not seem far but with pushchairs on poor pavements and searing heat even in the evenings you are going to be a sweaty mess by the time you get there. Did not try the restaurants on the main road. Its a really busy main road and the restaurants looked dusty. The strip clubs also detracted from the area.

I'll have to point out the toilet situation. We were told by the rep on the bus that Paphos has a poor sewage system and therefore toilet paper must be put in the bin by the toilet. Strange then that we have stayed in other hotels in the centre of Paphos which don't have this issue! Hotels and resorts might have got away with this 20 years ago but its just not acceptable these days. Might not be a problem for some people but bear in mind that the bathrooms at the Kefalos are not air-conditioned and if you time things wrong (ie after the maid has cleaned the room) your bathroom is going to stink for the rest of the day! Whilst we are on the subject, the hotel also has no baby change facilities in any of the public areas! So back to the room you have to go.

So there you go. Oh, one final point. I don't know if the hotel was hosting some kind of tattoo conference whilst we were there but I think we were the only ones without one! Maybe you also get a free England towel when you get ink done....saw quite a few of those too ;-)

While almost anywhere in Cyprus would be better than the UK or northern Europe in November (weather 28 degrees and cloudless skies), the extra effort put in by everyone at Kefalos Beach made this winter sun break perfect for us.

The hotel layout, with the apartments in small blocks surrounded by hedges, flowers and even banana trees is designed to look like a Cypriot Village and adds to the relaxed ambience, while the communal areas (pool, sun terraces, restaurant, bar/taverna) are as good as you will find anywhere. Hygiene and safety standards are also impressive.

For us, what really made Kefalos stand out though are the people who work there. From the housekeeping staff, who kept the apartments and public areas spotless, to the waiters, reception and management, everyone we met was so friendly and helpful that we really felt we were valued guests not just another piece of "package holiday fodder".

Being the end of season, some facilities were curtailed (there was no outdoor barbeque) but we were pleasantly surprised, on our second day, to be invited by the manager to a cocktail reception. This was a chance to meet the hotel management as well as other guests who had arrived with us. Being cynical, we were quite expecting a hard sell of excursions and future bookings but we were wrong and this was just a nice social get together, typical of the staff attitude we encountered at Kefalos.

Needless to say, this holiday went too quickly but we will surely be going back in the future.

An attractive resort, designed in the style of a village and adjacent to the beach and the coastal path. Fully accessible to my wife's wheelchair. Room was large and self catering facilities were ample. The TV had "live" BBC1 and BBC2 so my wife was able to keep up with Eastenders and Strictly Come Dancing! We changed from self catering to bed and breakfast, since the good buffet breakfast was only 3.50 euros per person. Bar and on-site supermarket prices were also lower than the norm in this sort of establishment. The beach cafe food was of good quality, reasonably priced and portions were large. The free wi-fi area in the lobby is a bit small but very much appreciated. In summary, excellent value for money.

Dear Elena/Nikki, thanks for all your help in finding rooms for us during our recent stay at Kefalos. Nikki you are a star. We had a great stay with you, your service and hospitality was superb. Best wishes to all there, particularly Geoff and Sophie who were brilliant !! and of course to the best barman in Cyprus (his own words) Dimos. We will definitely be returning next year but booking directly with yourselves to avoid problems.

We have just returned after a week at Kelalos Beach Tourist Village and cannot find anything to fault the place. Although we were half board the rooms have kitchen facilities which was really useful with having fridge, kettle, toaster together with a full set of crockery etc, this was ideal for lunches (and our cuppas!). All the staff were cheerful and friendly, and the food offered a good selection with a different theme each night.
The location was ideal with a beach just yards from the hotel (with no roads to cross), and a lovely swimming pool. a 20 minute walk along the coast takes you to the marina with all its coffee shops etc.
Overall I would recommend this hotal and would use it again.
