we stayed mid may, no complaints, room was lovely overlooking the adult pool in fishing village, swam every day. food was good and great variety. i5live entertainers were brilliant, fab kids shows and even better shows later on for adults, sadly not many people stayed to watch presumably because kids went to bed. Staff friendly & helpful, overall a brilliant holiday.

We stayed in the Aegean village, quieter area & pretty basic rooms - but HUGE! always a plus when travelling in a group! two bedroom apartment had two bathrooms two - major plus! As we were self catering we only ate in the restaurant once, there was plenty of choice and the food was good. Staff were polite and helpful - always said hello when you walked by. Would stay here again if we ever visit Paphos again!

We stayed hear mid May. With my Wife, our 7 month old, and 3 year old, and my parents.

What can i say about the Aliathon holiday village.

2 complaints first, or though only small, and one delt with very quickly. All credit due to the hotel.
My mum suffers with MS, and is very unsteady on her feet, and walks with a stick. One of the first things she noticed, was a lack of handrails on steps. Plenty of ramps to make life easy, for wheelchairs, and prams etc. But not a lot of handrails. Mum made a complaint to reception. The very next day, the manager went to see mum, to thank her for her views, and to say, that with in a few weeks, handrails will be installed in all locations mum mentioned. Pretty spot on for me that.
The only other complaint, was the lack of trays, and very hot plates in the restaurants, took me 3 attempts to get my plate to my seat.
So the good
Everything really. We had a supior room in the Fishing Village, overlooking the adult section of the pool. The room was very nice. Very clean, and kept clean everyday. Big double bed in bedroom, with a cot for our little one. And a fold out bed in the lounge for our 3 year old. Where i slept most nights. A very large, and safe balcony over looking the pool. With the sun on it all day.
A small kitchen area, with combined microwave, and oven.

The Pools.
Amazing. There was a great splash pool for the kids, with lots of slides, and fountains etc. A Pirate boat, and a water tower, dropping water every few mins.
But the main hub of the action was centred around the concreat beach area of the main pool. A very clean large pool, which sloped very gentle to about 1.4 meters. Excellent for the kids, and most of the water activities with the reps happened hear. The music was a little loud, there were loads of kids, but that's what its all about.
The other side of the bridge, was the adults section of pool, and it was very quiet. Maybe 3 or 4 people in the pool at one time. This was to do with most people having kids, so down at the kids section. The adult section, was very quiet, and a great place to relax away from the kids.
There were also 2 other pools in the other part of hotel. A simple rectangle small pool, with a shallow section, and a small lagoon style pool. Both areas had kids, but were quiet, and a nice pleasant place to be. All pools were super clean, and cleaned daily.
The food restaurants.
What can i say. 3 main restaurants. The main self service, a Greek, and Mexican. You had the option to try the Greek, and Mexican once per week. Although we choose not to, as the food in the self service was brilliant. Breakfast consisted of. Full English, continental, various cereals, and fruits. Breads cakes, biscuits etc. Midday dinner we spent around the pool, at the snack bar. Like most other types of snack bar. All sort of finger foods, and fruit and cakes. Still spot on. Evening meal, was simply stunning every night. They have themed night every night, but don't worry, there was always plenty of English food to choose. And always a carvery. With amazing meets. The food was stunning.
The staff always happy to help, and always smiling. Always paying attention, to our 7 month old.
Talking of staff, the I Five Live crew were spot on with the kids. Our 3 year old, was straight in to play in there games, with most of the reps learning her name, after the first day, and that seemed the case with all kids. Also plenty of adult games to be played as well.
We did not see much of the evening entertainment, as the kids were tired out through the day. What we did see, was your typical kiddie entertainment, loud and in your face, with the kids loving it. Did not stay for the adult entertainment later. Instead spent my time in the very quiet adults bar, drinking cocktails, over looking the pools.
All in all, one of the best holidays ive been on. Brilliant for couples with kids, and if you want a nice hotel, and don't mind kids, the place to go. Although, other than meal, times, theres plenty of places to escape from the kids, and find a quiet spot, next to the pool.

Will only think of using this hotel, next time we are back in Paphos. Thank you to al the staff, that made this holiday, one of my favourite.

Steve

Both me and my husband stayed here for what was our first holiday without the kids and was most certainly one of the best holiday places we've been to so far. The village itself is split into 2 main areas - Aegean area and the Fishing village. The Fishing village area is largely populated by First Choice all inclusive guests although even if you are staying self catering which we were you had the opportunity to use all the facilities available. We stayed in the Aegean part which nearest the front (commercial area) and had 2 pools, one of which was used by families and the other with more comfortable sunbed cushions which was directly outside the reception area. The apartments were cleaned daily and very comfortable. When we go back I will definitely be requesting a ground floor apartment nearest the reception area overlooking the pool as these seemed to be the newest and more modern apartments. Ours was probably in need of a lick of paint and had a really small balcony.

There are quite a few restaurants just outside the village which you receive a discount card for if you are staying s/c. We found it a lot cheaper to jump on the bus for a euro each and head down to the harbour which is about 10 mins away. The bus is an excellent way to get around Paphos as it only costs a euro each regardless of where you are heading! A valuable tip to pass onto any future travellers, don't pay 30 euros for a taxi to get you to where you are going. Just outside the arrivals/departures is the bus stop and it will only cost you a euro each and stops just outside the Aliathon. It runs hourly.

Overall a fabulous place and hotel, which we definitely will be revisiting!

We have just returned from 7 days at the holiday village. Travelled with my 2 & 5 year old. They had an amazing time, so much for them to do, kids clubs were great. Pools were excellent, espeacially the chilrens adventure pool, really geared up to keep the children busy, separate adult pool looked great too
Room was fantastic we requested a quiet room & upgraded to the newer fishing village, well worth doing! Kept very clean and air conditioning worked well!
The whole village was very clean, always being attended by the staff.
The food really was very good, being a chef myself i could understand how hard the kitchen brigade must work to serve all the people with fresh, well cooked food, huge amount of choice for adults and kids! All the restaurant staff were friendly and helpful always making a fuss of the children!
All self service buffet including the soft drinks, local beer and a perfectly acceptable white and red wine on tap... Need I say more ;)
Snack bar was great and drinks were ok not as strong as branded products but do you really want them to be??
All bath towels and pools towels provided so no need to take your own!
All the Thompson reps were excellent, working very hard to make sure the stay was perfect.
We have high standards when it comes to holidays and they were all exceeded.
Only complaint is that I will have to work hard to looses all the weight I have gained and that we had to leave!
I would recommend to families for sure, not sure it would tick all the boxes for young or old couples?
Hope to go back soon!!
