“Kid's Paradise”
Reviewed 6 July 2014

Spent a week here with son, daughter in law and grand daughter aged 5. The complex is well laid out and well maintained. Superb swimming pools and plenty of activities for the little ones. Our two bedroomed apartment was spacious with excellent air conditioning which was very much appreciated as the temperature soared to 43 on three days Our bedroom, however, was on the small side with two very hard single beds and no luxuries like a mirror etc. The bathroom had an over bath shower and also a walk in shower which, I felt needed updating as the grouting looked rather dingy and cracked. The water pressure was low and not always hot.

The staff, especially those concerned with the children, were superb and got every body joining in games and pool side quizzes.

As it was an all inclusive holiday there was always plenty of eating areas to choose from. The main buffet style restaurant certainly offered a grand choice but I am sorry to say we found the offerings rather bland. We were given three tokens to eat out at other nearby restaurants and we took advantage of two of them The first one "World food café" just a very short walk from the complex was a huge disappointment. My son's bruschetta was so dry that when he took a bite the bread crumbled to dust ! which we found quite amusing. My cannelloni contained feta cheese which did go some way to making the dish a little moist. My husband's calamari was good though and the local white wine quite palatable really. The waiter was most concerned at the amount of food that was untouched and, in fairness to him, offered us all another meal which we declined..

The second token was used at Mar a Monti (I cannot remember the name exactly but this, too, is a very short walk from the holiday village) This turned out to be a treat with the spaghetti Bolognese, steak and fish of good quality and taste A very good bottle of pinot grigio accompanied the meal which we all enjoyed.

All in all the Aliathon Holiday Village is a well run, fun place with lovely staff and a fantastic atmosphere, especially for the children.

Room Tip: The size of the room would, of course, depend on the size of the family but I should imagine all roo...

Just back from a week here and had a brilliant time! Lovely room- we had the junior suite in the fishing village which is where all the action is during the day. The staff were lovely, the entertainment team worked so hard all day! Couldn't of done anymore! Kept us entertained all day and night! Kids club was fab for our 3 year old.. One day she went to 3 sessions! Though she had the option of goin to 5 or 6 (If she had the energy!)
Food was great, so much choice and variety.
Only negative is you have to pay for the safe Which I feel should be included - usually you pay a deposit which u get back but this was not the case. Also we arrived at around midnight- but in leaving date would have had to check out at 12pm (or 11am?) so had to pay for a late check out at our flight was not until 11.35pm. If you arrive late then should have room till late- just as if I had arrived in the morning I would have checked out in the morning the following week- so had to fork out 50 euros for the pleasure of having a shower before departing and also my toddler naps during the day so we needed a room.
All in all is was a great week and would return.

What a fantastic holiday! We stayed at Aliathon from the 18th – 29th June on an all-inclusive basis. We are a family of 3, 2 adults and a 4year old.

From the moment we arrived at the hotel the staff were fantastic – I think it is the first hotel we have stayed where the welcome has been genuine! A VERY slick check-in process (fill your details in on the transfer). The staff are super friendly, helpful and extremely efficient and the resort is immaculate. It is probably one of the best all-inclusive family rooms we have stayed in – huge balcony, huge bed, great facilities.

The pool is lovely – however, it can be difficult to get a sunbed for the day if you’re a late riser. By 8:30am most sunbeds are taken so if you’re a pool lover – perhaps get a rota for people in your party to secure the beds for the day.

There is a special area for kids with a pirate ship, slides, water fountains etc … perfect for the little ones, and again the lifeguard/ pool attendant was great when kids were pushing in on the slide etc.

The main restaurant is great – very clean with a fantastic choice of hot foods and excellent fresh salads. There was always something to eat – even for the pickiest eaters. Drinks in the main restaurant are self-service and the wine isn’t bad at all. Theme nights are nice and the staff are wonderful with the children. I have read a few reports moaning about children running around in the buffet restaurant … lets be clear – this is NOT the hotels fault – it is the PARENTS fault!! There were a couple of incidents I witnessed with children being unruly and the staff were extremely pleasant and professional.

Drinks in all of the bars are great – if anything they are generous with the alcohol!

The reps are fantastic … there is always something going on – they are professional, friendly and always happy to help if there are problems!

Evening entertainment could be improved – but this isn’t the fault of the hotel – the First Choice entertainment team work extremely hard – and we thought that maybe after the show in the evening there could just be a period of music/ dancing rather than a quiz (to give the reps a break if anything!!!) – we have fed this back as part of our holiday questionnaire.

The Plaza at the bottom of the hotel is great – the shops, bars and supermarket are all reasonably priced and the cocktail bar on the corner is great if you fancy a change of scenery in the evening , the Wild Horse pub – traditional English Pub, Rojo Bar – a nice funky cocktail bar … remember your discount card as they give you 15% off!

There is lovely gift shop too called “The Gallery” – nice jewellery and items for the home – definitely worth a look!

The beach is a short walk away – the sea is a little rocky – but again it’s a nice change from the pool.

You can walk in to the harbour from the beachfront – there are some nice little bars to stop off at along the way too – and it’s nice to take a walk in the afternoon to get some sea breeze as it was very hot when we were there.

We did not want to leave and we had an absolutely fantastic holiday and would most certainly recommend it to families – we will definitely be returning as soon as possible!

Room Tip: Stay in the Fishing Village ... fantastic locations, facilities and balconies

There were 12 of us traveling, 6 adults,4 children (9-11) we stayed in the Aegean village by reception . We were happy to be here, although quieter it's only a couple of minutes to the Fishing Village. The food was good , a lot of choice and something available for the children. We liked the Asian (crispy duck) and Sunday roast night. The Mexican was fab and we booked their twice , not quite so keen on the Greek restaurant . The reps worked very hard providing day/night entertainment.thanks to Andrew,Miles, hetty, Charlotte and Alice. The kids were in Mega stars and took part in the high ropes , leap of faith, body zoobs ,canoeing etc and loved it.The staff in the village are great , never any trouble if you needed anything, we asked for some sheets, towels and they were delivered to our room in no time.you don't need pool towels as they are provided and you can swap them anytime. It's about a 30/40 min walk to Paphos or there are plenty of buses right outside .Lovely harbour and lots of pubs , restaurant s there.the only thing we would say is the evening entertainment could be a bit better,( reps worked very hard) but they could do with some professional acts like dancers, magicians and maybe a mini disco for the kids . We would defiantly recommend this village and had a great holiday .

We have just returned from an amazing 2 week holiday. We stayed in the fishing village and paid for a delux 1 bed apartment, for my husband, me and our 4.5 yr daughter. Room was spacious and clean. Complex is kept really clean, all the staff work really hard to go out of their way to make your stay special. We emailed the hotel prior to our stay and they provided us with a double bed. It was really comfy!

Food was great, lots of choice for fussy children! Paul was great in the adults bar. We used the Mexican, Greek and Italian restaurants, all of which were good. It was our wedding anniversary and my husbands birthday whilst staying and we had wine, cake and cards from the hotel.

Hannah and Dieter the swim coaches were fantastic! They gave my daughter the confidence to swim 20 m without any floats. I would definitely recommend the swim academy. We paid for 2 weeks of group swim sessions and several of the sessions only had a couple of children attending.

The kids clubs were great and very safe.

Entertainment had improved on last year. Very child orientated, but it keeps them happy!

Only negative was that 1 pool was closed nearly every day as parents allow children to swim without swim nappies, despite the hotel enforcing this rule. This took out a pool out of action for the whole day, as the hotel are very conscious it could spread infection. Not impressed that the same child did it 2 days on the trot! Also, sun beds reserved at the crack of dawn. This was not a problem last year at all.

It's a fantastic hotel, we are looking to book again next year.

We booked this holiday about 11 months ago and as the holiday got closer I couldn't help think that a holiday village wouldn't be for us as we usually go for smaller resorts. How wrong could I be.

We travelled as a family with our 2 1/2 year old son. On arrival we were impressed with the staff and cleanliness. I won't repeat what everyone has said here's what we found.

The food was the best variety we had at an all inclusive resort. We didn't have ant bad comments. We would have preferred more chicken and beef instead of Turkey and pork but that is our preference. The kids station was better than we thought it wasn't always 'junk food'. Breakfast was a bit hut and miss it sometimes could be cold. The snack bar was good as an alternative.

The room was nice and clean what more do you want on holiday. We always turn the air con on full on holidays but this air con wasn't very powerful probably our only criticism it went off through the night too! We emailed the hotel prior to going requesting a quieter upper floor room we got just that! Perfect for us.

We didn't use the entertainment to its full potential but what was on offer seemed great. We used the crèche a few times and it was fantastic! We did find that travelling with a nearly 3 year old he was just the wrong age as you couldn't go to the kids club or swimming lessons until 3 and football until 5. They do offer toddler sessions but the full thing would have been better. The I 5 live show was good for the little ones we never stayed for the later show. The arcades are annoying but no major problem we allows our son a few tokens and once they were gone he went back to the show no big issue!!!

The staff really are a credit to the hotel everyone spoke and gave you the time of day! We had a few minor problems, the bedside lamps needed new bulbs and we didn't have enough pillows I told reception and it was sorted instantly nothing to ruin the holiday.

The spa was amazing and reasonable.

The only complaint we had which is nothing to do with the hotel but other guests was the number of code browns which understandably shuts a pool for the whole day. Parents need to take responsibility and use swim nappies! Our son is toilet trained but still had a swim nappy for a just I case moment!!!

All in all a fantastic holiday with fantastic staff making the hotel amazing! such a shame to be home!!!
