“Best Holiday Ever”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 September 2014

Have been on many holidays - including cruises - but our recent stay at The Aliathon with our family was the best yet. We cannot praise highly enough the accomodation, cleanliness, staff and service. The quality, quantity and variety of food in all of the restaurants was outstanding. Being all inclusive, it came as a surprise to find that our 'room' was, in fact a studio apartment with all the facilities for a self catering holiday. We cannot give too high a praise to everybody at The Aliathon and will certainly be returning again. Many thanks to Stelios and his colleagues.

Room Tip: Rooms in the Fishing Village complex are closer to the main amenities i.e main restaurant etc.

We have just returned from a fantastic 2 week holiday at the Aliathon Holiday Village. We were given an upgrade in the Aegean Village on arrival, which was very large and always kept clean by the maids (had previously emailed to say we would be celebrating our 10th Wedding Anniversary). This was very much appreciated especially in high season. The hotel arranged a romantic meal at the Italian restaurant (part of the dine around package) for us, which was well worth the visit, and arranged to have a cake made for us, which was delicious. The staff also left a bottle of wine, fruit & and anniversary card in our room - a lovely touch. Our children (aged 8 & 5) loved the choice of pools and the splash park and so did we! The food was good - our children especially enjoyed the chocolate fountain nights! We found the staff at the hotel very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Our children enjoyed the entertainment evenings with the entertainment staff working incredibly hard, especially in the hot weather. Overall we had a fantastic holiday and hope to return again soon. We will certainly be recommending this hotel to family & friends. Many thanks to all the staff at the Aliathon for making our visit so special.

★★★★★ Just arrived home from possibly our best family holiday yet!!! We can't recommend this holiday village more. It is both beautiful & practical. We each took part in individual activities (4 children aged 3,5,7 & 9) but also had quality family time too ~ priceless...
All the staff were amazing, we felt so a part of everything from day 1, thank you all so much x x x x x x
So clean & great choice of delicious food too!
We'll be booking again!!

Upon arrival we were allocated a ground floor room, the patio area whilst walking out at groundfloor level was actually next to a huge drop (over 10ft) making this location unsafe for our family (Son with High Functioning Autism as well as younger child). The staff quarters were situated below the drop and could be heard 'letting off steam' (foul language) which was not suitable for families to hear. The hotel management (guest relations (Georgie) and Front of House (Kostas) were approachable of the topic however had no knowledge of Autism and whilst understood the safety issues the seriousness was not given priority. After 3 days and multiple room changes impacting our entire party, we were given a suitable alternate room. However, upon checkout there was an issue with the safety deposit box (which we did not have due to room changes yet were being billed for), this issue was raised to Kostas who advised he had 'already completed a favour' for our family with regards to re-allocating rooms and the safety deposit box charges would still stand. This was very upsetting given guests safety should surely be of paramount importance ! not considered 'a favour', Kostas attitude upon our departure was one of 'you are leaving so I don't care' and he passed over a hotel issue to the First Choice Reps (who thankfully were much more understanding!).
We stayed in a deluxe 1 bed apartment in the fishing village, other than a good location there was nothing deluxe about the room, in fact it was very 'tired' and in need of a little TLC. The rooms were kept clean and the cleaning staff were very friendly. The food was good, with great choice, the waiting staff and restaurant manager all worked very hard and were very helpful. It seems the 'workers' in this establishment are the ones that are keeping this hotel running in a personable, good customer service manner and the 'management' team need to reach out to their staff to learn such skills.
This was our second family vacation to this hotel and unfortunately we will not be returning, not because of the issues we encountered but because of the way in which this issue was dealt with. I would encourage both the hotel and First Choice to review the descriptions of the rooms ensuring those travelling with specific needs can make informed choices as well as discussing requirements prior to arrival. I would encourage guest relations and customer facing management to seek out methods in which building successful relationships with ALL guests can be made including guests with Unseen Disabilities.

We visited Aliathon for the 2nd time running this year as a family of 4, 2 children aged 9 and 7. We upgraded to the fishing village and after emailing the hotel were given the same room as the previous year which was an extra special touch from the hotel. Our room was kept very clean, these cleaners work very hard in extreme heat!! The food i have to say is far the best from previous holiday villages we have visited and improved from the year before, i am a fussy eater and have never eaten and enjoyed my food so much!! Plenty of choice for everyone. Our only real issues are with first choice itself, The reps work very hard but daytime entertainment would be much improved if there was more than 1 speaker around the main pool! we were only sat by the bridge and would've liked to join in with the quiz etc but couldn't hear a thing!! I'm sure this is something that could be easily resolved, Another thing we had an issue with was the inflatable which was brought out a few times a week into the main pool, although it was good fun we have some issues with the safety issues for the poor reps who had to carry this heavy thing from the other end of the pool on 2 planks of wood!!! These are young people who could quite possibly do some serious damage to themselves carrying this heavy load over particularly slippy floors and its quite concerning to watch, surely they should be supplied with a trolley of some type? Anyway we would like to thank Aliathon for a wonderful 2nd stay with you and are hoping to return again next year.

Room Tip: Not clearly stated when booking but advise to upgrade to fishing village

Just got back from the Aliathon Holiday Village. This is our 3rd visit to a holiday village having previously visited the ones in Egypt and Lanzarote. The hotel itself is lovely, very modern, well looked after, clean and nicely spaced out so you never felt overcrowded. We had a superior apartment in the Aegean village which was very well equipped and large enough for the 4 of us. It also had a large balcony and a partial pool view. There are 4 swimming pools and the best part was the fact that we didn't have to get up at silly o'clock to secure sunbeds around either the lagoon pool or the Aegean pool, most days there were still beds at gone 10am. The main pool however was a different story but we were more than happy at the other pools. All the pools had bars serving a good range of drinks and we enjoyed ouzo special and Mickey Mouse cocktails.

The main letdown for this hotel for me was the food. I am not a fussy eater but I felt the food could be greatly improved. With the exception of breakfast which was faultless at lunch and dinner I just felt that there was not enough choice and what was there didn't really go together so you just ended up with a mishmash on the plate. Also would have been better if some of the lovely cakes that were at breakfast were available for dessert at dinner. However the al a carte restaurants were very good particularly the Italian and the Mexican.

Also one other thing to mention, you can only take part in the daytime entertainment if you are at one end of the main pool as you can't hear anything from anywhere else which is a shame. When we were in Lanzarote it could be heard around the whole pool and we really enjoyed joining in.

Overall I really liked this hotel and think it has great potential and I would return again if they improved the food.

Room Tip: We were in room 109 close to the Aegean pool. Nice sized room and well equipped. However a bit of a...

After 7 years of driving to south west France this was the year for a change. Had a really fab holiday and my 11 year old twin boys said it was the best holiday they ever had! Praise indeed. This was to be a chilllax holiday, and it lived up to that expectation. Facilities, staff, food, accommodation was of the highest order and I couldn't recommend the Aliathon highly enough.

Room Tip: Book the Fishing Village to be near the main pool - important if you have kids that want to spend al...
