Before I write my review about my wedding/holiday i want to make sure that everybody knows how fantastic the reps/staff are at this village. Dave/Kayleigh/Sarah/Alan work harder than any other reps that I have ever met and the proffesionalism and committment that they put into their jobs is fantastic!!!!!

The village itself is fabulous and the quality of the food is excellent considering the numbers that stay their. There could be more choice in the buffet restaurant but the kids seem to love it. I liked that fact that not only did the reps keep the kids entertained but also the adults with some great activities. As you can see I thoroughly loved the place!

Now the negative stuff

We went for our wedding booked through first choice and was looking forward to the day very much. Everything booked and paid for we turned up at the hotel and got taken to our upgraded Deluxe Studio whilst our friends went to their Deluxe Apartment....not knowing what the difference was before we arrived we believed we would have a spacious room as we had our 8yr old son with us. The room our friends had was far more spacious and private than our. Had first choice explained the difference we would have upgraded ourselves but we were more than happy!

We met with the wedding planner and went through all the details and she advised us a car would be picking us up at the hotel to take us to the town hall to go through the legal stuff at a cost of £32. The town hall is 3 minutes away from the hotel and the normal taxi service costs £8......dont let them force you into taking their own taxi.........

We expected the extras that they offered to us and whilst expensive we agreed that we would take up some extras eg. flowers/extra champers

Then 2 days before the wedding we got a call from the planner advising us that the hotel wanted 50 euros per guest to allow them to come into the hotel for the wedding to cover drinks costs etc........with 20 guests attending the wedding you can imagine the horror. We had written to first choice back in february asking whether we had to pay for a day pass or can the guests just pay cash at the bar which they confirmed that they could do.

We spoke to the planner who advised she would speak with her boss and sort it out, She then rang back and advised that the hotel would do it for 30euros......still not having it we threatened to cancel the wedding as we didnt have the money...you can imaging how my soon to be wife was feeling now. The hotel manager asked to speak to us in person which we did and he sat us down in his office behind his desk and proceeded to explain (lecture) the reasons why they are charging us.

We explained that we would not be paying anything extra as the guests were only at the hotel for a matter of 30 minutes before we went to the reception down at the harbour. He then stated that our guests were only allowed in the hotel from 1:30pm until 2:30pm and we then had to leave.............not very accommodating but we were happy with it.

Upon leaving the hotel we heard many more stories of the hotel management trying to obtain extra money from wedding parties which were totally unexpected, I believe they try this to get a little bit more from people as more people will pay it that challenge it.

make sure you understand what charges you may incur and always challenge when they try to charge you for extras. We were told that we were the only couple who didnt accept the charges and now they have agreed a special rate of 15euros for guests attending the wedding who are not staying at the aliathon.......

Apart from this the wedding day was amazing and the staff made us feel like celebrities. Another tip is book your reception/meal down at the harbour in one of the fantastic restaurants (posedonis) as as your walking through the people you get cheered/clapped anc congratulated and is makes you feel so special

Our first impression of the resort was 'wow!' it's a big resort, and although we had looked at the map of the place, you don't get a sense of size until you are there. The Aegean village is at the reception end of the resort at the front. In comparison to the newer fishing village the apartments are noticeably older; not untidy at all just a little more basic looking from the outside. Although our family stayed at the fishing village I very much doubt that the quality of the service or the rooms would be any different as the whole resort is kept very clean everywhere. All of the pools looked inviting and though they were surprisingly cold they were lovely once you were in.
Both the first choice staff and the hotel staff were very polite and welcoming. The reps work very hard to keep everybody entertained though they were not in your face pestering you to get involved with the activities which was a concern that I had. There are lots of things for children of all ages to get involved with, though to be honest our two year old didn't have the energy to do much more than the pool and the park ( and neither did we :-) )
The food was good and quite varied, though a bit more variety for kids would have been nice as our boys don't eat a lot of fish fingers, nuggets, pizza and chips.
I think the cost is a little over priced but not enough to deter me from revisiting when the boys are a little older.
Overall a lovely holiday and a superb resort

Just came back from a two week stay at the beutiful Aliathon holiday village. We stayed in the fishing village part, the apartment was lovely and cleaned every day (except Sundays). The place itself was constantly being cleaned and ther was never any litter.
The first choice reps were brilliant and definately earn (double) their money ,always happy and always have time for for you, the children and adults always have something to do, like raft building, darts, quizzes, boules, cocktail making, archery, cricket, footbaal, water polo, high ropes, chocolate parties, D.J'ing, snorkling, Canoeing, dinghy sailing etc etc.
The pools are lovely (beutifully lit up at night) and maintained everyday. the food was to a good standard and there is always a wide variety. There is a beutiful adult spa where you cant have a quiet swim, jucuzzi, sauna, massage etc .Sadly we didnt use this as we were too busy doing other stuff.
Evening entertainment was very excellent, there was a different show on every night with a lot of audience participation so if you dont like to get up on stage dont sit at the front!
This holiday was probably the most enjoyable we've ever had and can't understand how this place ever gets a bad review. Our only complaint is we had to come home.

We stayed in a standard apartment which suited all of our needs considering theamount of time we spent in the accommodation. We will definetely go back however we would pay a little extra for apartment in the fishing village as there qwere two parts to the village and the accommodation in thefishing village was very good. Food was great and as this was the first time I had gone all inclusive I was worried what it would be like. I could not fault any iof it and the staff wereall great. x

Stayed in the aegean side of the village and it was brilliant can't understand the complaints. This side has the best pool with the lagoon style one much better than the large fishing village one if u have small children. We were all inclusive and the food over the 2 weeks was very varied plentiful and really tastey. Cocktails could have been better, maybe more choice would be good. But this was our only wim. We got married on the Seastar while we were there and it was amazing we came back to the hotel afterwards and had some photos taken in the gardens as they are so pretty. Brilliant holiday was really upset to come home.
