We arrived late at night and was greeted by lovely Ted who showed us to our room and showed us the in's and outs of everything. He also informed us that we had places to eat 2 minutes away and a Kiosk to buy things for the room. We had a one bedroom apartment on the third floor, had a sofa and a seperate sofa bed, large balcony where you could sit up to 4 seats PLUS table that looked onto the sea and Tomb Of The Kings. Dining table, kitchen with everything you'll ever need to cook up a meal if you wish. Bathroom had bath/shower and bedroom was large with lots of space and a dressing table. Air con in both rooms could be on at the same time and TV in the living room with Fox Movies/MTV and music/news channels. The pool is lovely, always clean and not heavily full of chemicals that mess with your eyes. The pool bar is run by lovely staff who are always there to help. The locations couldn't be better as your next to a run of pubs and places to eat and bus stops to the Harbour and Coral Bay outside. The only downside was we were told it had free wifi by our travel agent which it doesn't but you can buy cards. The hotel is friendly and would love to go back!!!

Just got back from 1 week at the Kef, on arrival was met by a pleasant receptionist. Given room key which was on third floor over looking the pool (no lifts). Entered the room to find it very basic and dated but spotlessly clean. In the cupboards are everything you need for a self catering holiday. We like to sit on the balcony but this was not possible as the balcony which contained a table and three chairs(stacked) was only big enough for one chair to be used at any one time with the other person having to sit inside.
Although air con is included in the price you can only have it on in one room at a time so we chose the bedroom and suffered in the living area.. We have to admit that prior to this we have stayed in 4* hotels so was a bit of a shock but it in reality it wasn't that bad. We asked for extra pillows which were waiting for us the following day. We found the staff pleasant and would recommend staying here but it is not 4* as stated on some sites it is Basic but clean.

A Friend and I returned from a stay at The Kef last week. We had an amazingly spacious and very clean apartment and were suprised to get our towels changed and maid service every day except for the change over days on Wednesday and Sunday. Although we didnt really use the kitchen apart from to make toast and tea, it was full of utensils which were all clean including tea towels.
The pool area was amazingly clean as were the gardens and reception areas. The air con was a life saver as it was humid. Good high pressure water in the shower too which is usually rubbish in these hotels.

My favourite thing about this hotel was that the location was absolutely perfect. It is situated within a minutes walk to the bust stops and local restaurants/bars. Fat Mamas is a particularly busy restaurant with ques of people waiting for a table out side. Portion sizes are huge and there is some entertainment throughout the evening.Great for kids.
We used the bus service every day which I must say was incredible going from the Harbour to Coralia Bay every 20 minutes (ish) and only 1 Euro each way. A day pass is only 3 Euros a day and the week pass is 13 Euros.

Coralia Bay is a lovely beach with warm shallow waters and The Harbour is amazing for more upmarket restaurants. Coral Bay seems to be being rennoavted so is very small and there are currently dredgers in the bay.

There are several palces to visit if you fancy a little wander over some ruins including Tomb of the Kings, The Arceological Site, & the Odeon although the entrance from the Odeon has moved to the harbour.

We had a lovely week and I would definitely recommend this hotel for couples, families & young people.

We stayed at the Kefalonitis Hotel in a one bedroom apartment (room 101). On arrival we were greeted by Ted, who was extremely helpful, showed us to our room and explained how the air con etc worked. We soon discovered if you wanted to know any thing ask Ted. His wife who was also very pleasant ran the bar, and we popped in most evenings for a night cap. The accommodation was not what we expected as the main room was massive and the kitchen was well equipped, with enough utensils to prepare a meal, and was spotless, there was also air con. The bath room had both shower and bath, which is a rarity these days, once again immaculate. The bedroom was large enough for us and has plenty of storage space, a hair dryer for the other half and another air con unit. The complex itself is what you would expect from a three star, nice pool, plenty of sunbeds, and we found all the staff very friendly. There are plenty of bars and restaurants along the Tomb of the Kings road, but our favourite was called Nenteah, was which was just around the corner form the Kefalonitis and is adjacent to the Tramps bar. The food was excellent, even though it always seem to be quiet, we later found out, from Ted, that it had only recently been taken over and they were trying to build up the business. We used the busses quite a lot – cost 1 euro per trip, they are very frequent ever 5 to 10 minutes, to go to both the harbour and the beech (where the bus terminates) we did not go to Coral Bay as we were told it gets very busy, but stay on the bus and it will take you to a much better beach called Corallia. My partner cannot have dairy products so we had to find some where that sells Soya milk, well if you get the bus to the Harbour and then take the road were Debenhams is you will find a brilliant super market, just 5 minutes down the road, which sell absolutely ever thing. One word of warning if you do go to the harbour at night wear mosquito repellent, as on our first trip there we were a three course meal for them. All in all we really enjoyed Paphos and would like to go back there again in the near future, and would defiantly stay at the Kefalonitis.

I was unfortunate enough to have torn my achilles tendon during my stay at the Kef, and the staff were absolutely fantastic. The lady at reception sorted out for us to go to an excellent local hospital, and after an overnight stay, x ray and MRI I was allowed to return back to the apartment with a "Beckham Boot" and crutches.
We were originally in a studio apartment on the second floor, but Nicos arranged for us to relocate to a ground floor apartment so I could manage with my boot and crutches.
Everyone on the staff here were just remarkable. All were extremely helpful, and made our holiday disaster much more manageable.
Ted and Helen are mentioned frequently in reviews, and the praise is well deserved. Susan and Millie behind the bar are great also. Nicos is very chatty if you take the time out to get to know him, and was such a great help when we needed it.
I can only praise this place, and say that their excellent reviews are well deserved. For the odd poor review, having stayed here, I would say that the problem was with the reviewer, not the apartments.

My friend and I returned home this morning following a fortnight at the Kefalonitis Hotel Apartments. Having read some recent reviews which were less than favourable, we were a little apprehensive - unnecessarily as it turned out. We had a studio apartment which was spacious, scrupulously clean and very well equipped. It was cleaned 5 times per week, with very frequent bed and towel changes, and we were very comfortable there. We were greeted on arrival by Ted who showed us the ropes and generally made himself invaluable from the first moment. He is a treasure!

The pool area is clean and well-equipped with sun loungers and shades, and the pool bar is good, offering a range of snacks at good prices. The bar staff were friendly and all willing to have a chat and be helpful. The gardens are typical of those in an arid climate - with a range of plants and shrubs which suit the climate. For those who would prefer a more lush landscape then they have to be prepared to pay more accordingly as maintaining lush gardens in that climate is an expensive business. Or perhaps holiday in England, where we are guaranteed more rain...

There are some nice restaurants nearby. One of our favourites was Zeus Greek Taverna. Gorgeous Greek food, reasonably priced, and the staff are great fun. There is a regular bus service to the harbour too so the apartments provide a good base.

But for me the thing that really makes the Kefalonitis apartments stand out is the outstanding service and help we received when my friend injured her leg and was in hospital. The reception staff arranged the hospital appointment, taxis to take us to and fro, and when we needed to change rooms (we were initially on the 2nd floor and needed to move to ground floor as my friend was on crutches and leg in cast) it was all done with the minimum of inconvenience to us, though i am sure it involved considerable inconvenience to them. Throughout it all they were a real lifeline for us and I cannot thank them enough. Nikkos was an absolute star. Far from being uncommunicative, he was available to help and give support at all times, and was genuinely caring. Nothing was too much trouble. Given the lack of help we received from Thomsons and the general disinterest from the Thomson representative there, the help we received from all at Kefalonitis was invaluable.

I have no hesitation in recommending these apartments, and would certainly return there. They provide the basis for a wonderful holiday. Enjoy!
