Where to start? My boyfriend and I stayed here for a week in July 2012. We both found the hotel really good. The bedding, towels and bin was changed every day baring the Sunday (We stayed Wed – Wed). The aircon in the apartment can only be on in one room at a time (Bedroom or living/kitchen area). However, the aircon unit in the living/kitchen area was broken. We personally didn’t find this a problem so we didn’t report it. The hotel was close to Coral Bay (15 min bus ride which was 1 Euro each!!) and about a 15min walk to Paphos harbour where there was some really nice restaurants. The Hotel snack bar was reasonable priced and played music all day long for the sunbathers. At reception there is an option to leave your key, but it isn’t a necessary! The only reason the receptionist is keen on you leaving you key as it is expensive and if you lose it is 100 Euros to replace. My boyfriend went to the onsite gym but he found there wasn’t much there…but who wants a full on workout on holiday??? The bug situation was great, no mosquitos, no flies and the whole week only 1 cockroach and the odd dragonfly around the pool! Would defiantly recommend this hotel to couples and families as there are sports and activities you can do within the grounds of the hotel.

Room Tip: We stayed in a one bedroom apartment.

We booked these hotel/apartments last minute with Jet 2 Holidays.
We had a look at the reviews and decided that they would be fine for a last minute week in the sun
On arrival we were pleasantly surprised, our one bed apartment was spacious , clean and close to Tomb of the Kings Road, with its many bars and restaurants .
We knew that for what we paid we were never going to get luxury but the room was cleaned and the sheets were changed every day except one, the beds were comfortable ,the air con worked well in the 30+ heat (some people thought that not being able to leave the air con on when they were out was a problem)( it didnt take long to cool down) the staff were pleasant , helpful and unobtrusive
We never had a problem with noise ,either in the apartment block, or from the road/bars/restaurants

One minor complaint , the pool area was a bit claustrophobic at times, but you dont have to stay at the pool if like us you prefer more space!!!!

Would we go back ? certainly !!
Although we do prefer somewhere with better beaches

Overall Just remember what it cost you, its not five star , but neither is the price!!!
Worth a try

Room Tip: Not ground foor ,Cyprus has too many cats

Just had 2 weeks from 27th June 12 as previously stated the Kef is a very friendly place must mention also Ted who is very friendly and Helpful and goes that extra mile when new guest arrive. A few nights after we had been out for a meal we would sit in the lounge area and chat to Ted with other guests, as stated always plenty of Sunbeds The room we had was very large apart from the balcony we had a wall in front of us and when we sat out we couldn't see anything Towels & linen changed twice a week also a plus is the Kef supply Toilet rolls and free air conditioning apart from 2 days we had 24 hours boiling hot water, the 2 days we didn't we lost Hot water from about 6pm to about 11 am the following morning. We paid for Breakfast when we booked I have got to mention unless you like English or Continental breakfast don't pre book it The first morning we was given no choice English or Continental no alternative this went on for 2 days then the next morning we understand I will not give her name was replace by 2 Cyprus young ladies who gave us a choice Boiled eggs, Scrambled eggs and they had a more friendlier attitude Disappointed there was not a help yourself facility for breakfast cereals if non smoker sit in the road side part as no smoking area, Now the surrounding areas and close by Restaurants there is two I would recommend the Farm House is Excellent and reasonable prices also the Metaxas down a side road First class cooked food Don't be fooled by the queueing at Fat Mummers the reason is because the big Holiday company's sell these meals and they are mostly pre booked when they arrive,so the queues? Buses, walk down the the main road turn right same side is the Bus Stop for the 615 be prepared to stand the price to the Harbour is 1 euro buy a all day ticket from the driver 3 euro use as many times that day or as we did buy a 13 euro from the Bus station for a weekly one well worth the cost if you are fit walk to the Harbour took us 20 -25 minutes better still walk to the Market in the old Town takes about 20 minutes at the most out the hotel turn left follow the Map pretty straight route save getting on 2 Buses Best Supermarket is Papantoniou by the Harbour Bus terminal along passed Debenham's Back to the Kef would I recommend it without a doubt the reason 4 star and not 5 is because of the poor choice of Breakfast or without doubt would of given it 5 Star, they have a fitness area Sauna Tennis court but they are not well promoted but to be honest the weather was very hot and who in their right mind would go in the basement in a small room to exercise or sit in a sauna in Paphos where we had wall to wall sunshine

Room Tip: there are 3 floors no lifts so if problems climbing stairs you may need a ground Floor the only mino...

Never felt the need to review anything before, let alone a holiday but we had such a great time in Cyprus in June we felt we needed to give the Kef the recognition it deserves!! We stayed at the Kefalonitis in a studio apartment and although as others have said it is a bit dated it was always very clean and had everything that you would need.

We arrived in the evening to be greated by Ted and shown to our room which included a run down of the hotel facilities and a guide to the surrounding area (supermarket, beach, local market). Our room was kept clean with fresh linen and towels 5 out of 7 days. The pool and garden areas are well kept and although the hotel seemed busy there was never a difficulty getting a sun bed or umbrella by the pool. Our balcony was very spacious and we were lucky to get the sun the majority of the day.

Definitely the best thing about the Kefalonitis is the staff. Especially Ted and Helen who make you feel so welcome from day one and make it their priority to make sure everyone has an amazing stay. Helen also made the best brandy sours we've ever had (granted it is the only brandy sours we've ever had)!! Also after stupidly missing our pick up for a trip to Famagusta (a must) Nicos very kindly negotiated an alternative pick up and drove us across Paphos to meet our awaiting bus. We had an amazing time on this day trip and without Nicos we never would have made it.

Despite thoroughly enjoying a number of evenings in the bar putting the world to rights with other guests, Helen and Ted, when he wasn't rushing around welcoming new guests, a bit of evening entertainment would have been welcome. It is a shame that since there are such lovely staff around in the evening that there is nothing additional to encourage you to stay around. This is the only reason that we haven't given the hotel a five out five.

We are definitely planning returning to the Kefalonitis and have already recommended this hotel.
