The Kissos hotel was an average experience at best. Staying B&B for 10 days at the end of August, the hotel has an alleged 3 stars. We arrived to friendly welcoming staff. The room on the third floor was not good; it was very dated, with old decour. The room was also not very clean- the bedding was old and had hair on it, dirty/old pillows, the towels were very old and had a bad smell, and the floors were not clean either.
The breakfasts were average too; there is a wide selection of hot & cold foods, but it was basic overall.
The pool area outside was fine and reasonably clean, but be aware, especially during the summer, there are a lot of families with (sometimes!) screaming children! There were somewhat unclean gym facilities too. The hotel is in a good location for restraunts and local attractions, being near a beach of average quality too. There is a 1.5km walk to the harbour, or the bus every 15 minutes to the harbour at a cost of 1.50Euros. Overall a poor-average experience.... some pros & cons below:
Cons:
- Safe & fridge charged at 5 euros per day
- poor cleanliness standards, dated rooms in desperate need of revamp!
- pool & gym facilities only reasonably clean (gym swimming pool is dirty)
- lots of children in summer (for some this might be good)
- Hotel charges for Wifi, room service (if not all inc.), some gym facilities and many other things which are provided for free at other hotels locally.

Pros:
- helpful staff on reception/cleaners/bar staffs/waiters
- reasonably good location, some good restraunts locally (Fat Mamas, Duomo, San Marino)
- Near Tomb of the Kings
- Good transport links for nightlife/harbour (buses 8am-11pm)

We felt hiring a car was a good option in this location too.
This hotel is OK for LGBT travellers too.

Visited kissos hotel beginning of August 2014 . Couldn't fault this place at all. Only stopped bed & breakfast but stay was very comfortable . Room was large and clean . Towels where changed everyday and beds made. Staff so helpful and friendly. Drinks prices a little high so did go out at night . We stayed beside the lagoon pool...very nice . The only problem like many other hotels was the sun beds ..towels being laid on beds early hours of the morning . There is plenty to do crazy golf drives you mad , if you can be bothered to keep fit the little gym can be found near the in door pool, which I add is so cool on a very hot day. The con was free but had to pay for safe and fridge . Well worth it ..Just remember to feed the cats and have a good holiday !

While I have been to Cyprus several times before, this was my husband's first trip. He needed a bit of persuading to change from our usual holiday location of Majorca, so I hoped he would like it. We both absolutely loved it. The Kissos Hotel is exactly as the picture shows and we had a perfect location from our superior room only a few steps from the pool, lazy river and sun loungers. The staff are exceptionally nice, friendly, efficient and polite. Everyone from reception, bar staff, waiting staff and managers give the impression they are there to make your holiday be the best it can be. We really enjoyed our meals on half board basis and only ate out once to try 'Meze'. The dining room is very efficiently run. We never had to wait to be seated or stand in long queue for our meals. In our opinion, the food was very good. Plenty choice for breakfast and evening meal and despite good intentions, we always managed to over-eat. Some guests mentioned the beds were uncomfortable. I honestly slept better than I do at home - I appreciated the firmness of the bed. We hired a car for 8 of the 12 days we were staying at the Kissos hotel, but found we only wanted to go out every other day as we so enjoyed relaxing by the pool. We are also of the opinion that we will most certainly return to Cyprus; most likely to Paphos & everything we consider will have to compare with what the Kissos Hotel has to offer. It is certainly good value for money.

Room Tip: Superior rooms are worth paying extra for. Take into consideration the cost of hire of fridge and sa...

Just got back after a 14 day stay at the Kissos Hotel in Paphos, Cyprus. The hotel was lovely, the staff were so nice, friendly and bent over backwards to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Amy, the hotel animation team was great a really friendly bubbly girl who knows how to make sure the guests have fun and enjoy their stay at the hotel, my son especially enjoyed the aqua aerobics :) The rooms were a nice size and cleaned daily and the food was amazing, buffet style with plenty of choice to suit all tastes with lovely helpful friendly waiters and waitresses. We travelled with Thompsons and our holiday advisor Beth was great, she did everything she could to help make our stay in Paphos the best it could be. Would definitely recommend the Kissos to anyone travelling to Cyprus and hope to go back myself in the not too distant future.

My brother and I went with our wives for a 10 night stay at the Kissos.(Their first trip to Cyprus)
My wife read the reviews before we went and we were a litlle apprehensive about what we would find.
If you go to this 3-star hotel with the mind set that is is a 3-star hotel, you won't be disappointed.
We all had rooms in the main part of the building, which were functionial, clean and perfectly sufficient for our needs.
The beds were firm, so may say hard, but very comfortable. Should a firm bed not suit, I believe there are mattress toppers available from reception.
The food is varied, well cooked, always hot and replenished on a regular basis.
The pools are cleaned regularly and there are lots of sunbeds, although a lot of them are reserved with towels from early on so, if you want prime position, a little effort is required.
The staff are the main stay of any establishment, the staff at the Kissos couldn't have been more helpful or more friendly, a big tick in the box from us.
I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone, as long as they realise that it is a 3-star and not a 4 or 5-star!
We stayed in rooms 130 & 132, not a great view but as we only used the rooms for sleeping and getting ready to go out, we were happy.
The only observation I have, and it's not a criticism, is that free wifi would have been a bonus, the wifi available is not cheap and, to be honest, not that efficient. All the surrounding bars and restaurants have free wifi, why not the Kissos?

just arrived home from 10 days in the Kissos hotel. We knew we had booked an all inclusive in a 3* hotel. Yes the rooms were basic with an on suite bathroom, air conditioning and a small balcony ,but very clean with maid service daily unless you choose otherwise. We used our room for sleeping in and getting showered and dressed in. The food was lovely and varied. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. There were 2 pools both of which were kept lovely and clean, we preferred the lagoon pool which is where we spent a majority of our time, relaxing, swimming, and sunbathing of course. The hotel is situated fairly close to the beach and town, which has plenty of shops, restaurants, pharmacies, etc. The harbour which is really lovely can be reached on foot or by taxi.We hired a car to visit the breath taking mountains in Troodos, the baths of Aphrodites and Lara beach where, if you are lucky enough you get to see the baby turtles heading out to sea. Polis beach was a disappointment however. On our departure we realised we had lost our video camera, i left our contact details with the wonderful receptionist (Tina) who within 24hrs had phoned us to say it had been found and they will arrange to post it back to us within the next 5 days. IT IS A 3* HOTEL and it will depend on what you want from your holiday, but we had a fabulous time and would love to return one day.

Room Tip: the rooms overlooking the pools may experience noise from the entertainment during the day (ie music...

Just back from a great week at the Kissos hotel. This is a 3 star hotel, the rooms in the main hotel are dated however the staff work tirelessly to keep the hotel spotlessly clean! As a disabled person who uses a wheelchair to get around this hotel did well to meet my needs. There were ramps to all areas and reserved seating for meals so you were closer to the buffet. The disabled rooms had good facilities ie walk in shower and rails in the bathroom plus extra wide doors. The only concern for me was that these rooms are on the second floor and only one of the two lifts takes a wheelchair. We discussed this with the hotel manager, who was very helpful in trying to find a solution but in the end we stayed in these rooms and there was never a problem waiting for the bigger lift. This hotel is close to some fantastic restaurants and a disabled friendly bus service which is frequent and easy to use. We were on B & B, the buffet breakfast had a good choice of food and kep us going most of the day.
There are several negative comments on this hotel but if you are looking for an in expensive holiday in a clean hotel, with good facilities, friendly staff in an accessible location then this hotel is for you. The superior rooms have four steps up to the rooms but are availible on the ground floor, these rooms are newer and larger should you want more luxury.

We would have no hesitation in recommending the hotel kissos
