After reading trip advisor before we went we were really excited about the positive reviews. The hotel and staff definatly lived up to this. Check in was very swift and food was still available in the restaurant which was nice after a late flight.

When we got to the room there was a lovely birthday cake for our son - thank you again for this it made his day!

We stayed at this hotel for 11 nights and did not get tired of the food. There was always something different to choose from and always tasted nice and fresh.

The staff were all very pleasant but the entertainment staff are definitely top notch. It was Jonny's first week when we arrived but you would have thought he had been there a lot longer. His first night on stage had us in stitches of laughter. Luchi, Genna, Andrei, Adrii and Jonny work extremely well together and we enjoyed having chats with Genna and Jonny most mornings around the pool.
We just would like to know where they get their energy from! And we did enjoy the fact that they would take no for an answer when trying to get you involved in activities.

Overall we cannot fault this hotel -only 1 small issue was the sun beds being reserved as early as 6.30, we saw a few people coming out in the morning with no beds available.

Thank you to all the staff for a wonderful holiday and cannot wait to return.

Dear guest,

Let us thank you for choosing to stay at the Louis Ledra Beach.

We are thrilled to hear that our hotel and staff lived up to the expectations you had from other lovely reviews describing the experience we deliver. Moreover, we are glad to hear that you had a pleasant arrival experience and that you were delighted by the birthday cake we had arranged in the room for your son. It is an additional pleasure to hear that you found our dishes fresh and of great taste and that you would praise our excellent animation team so highly, of which they will certainly be informed. In regards to your comment about the reservation of sunbeds, we assure you that there are enough of them around our grounds but obvioulsy those around the pool are always the most popular. Nonetheless, despite this minor issue, we are happy to hear that you had a wonderful holiday to which you wish to return.

We look forward to seeing you soon again at the Louis Ledra Beach.

Yours truly,

The Management.

We got married at the Louis Ledra last month and we loved every minute of it!
The hotel could not have done more for us and made us feel very special.
Andreas from the hotel and Sian the Thomson rep were both outstanding - Andreas even surprised me with a bottle of bubbly the day after as it was my birthday and it was touches like this that made all the difference.
They made sure the whole day went without a hitch and the gazebo where we chose to get married looked beautiful.
If anyone is thinking about getting married here, I would definitely recommend it!
And besides the brilliant wedding team, the rest of the staff are all very friendly and welcoming.
The hotel is very clean, the food was amazing - a massive selection every day and all very fresh and tasty.
The beach and pool are again lovely and clean and I can't think of a bad thing to say :-)

Room Tip: Try and get a room with a pool/sea view :-)

We've just returned from 10 days at the Louis Ledra Beach Hotel and perhaps it's just us but we struggled (to say the least) to understand how this hotel has received such glowing Trip Advisor reviews.

Paphos, Cyprus wouldn't be a destination of choice for either of us but we were part of a wedding party and that's where our close friends were getting married (at the hotel itself). We regularly checked with friends to see if they were experiencing the same holiday as us and it's fair to say that they thought it was good but certainly not value for money.

So let’s start with the following:

Location - The best hotels were certainly up towards the harbour and we know this because we visited a few whilst we were there. The Louis Ledra is the third last hotel away from the harbour and about a good 30 minute walk along the coast. The views are good and there is a decent supermarket across the road for anything you might need outside of the hotel. Water sports are available immediately outside the hotel by the jetty and there is a lovely little lagoon to dip in the sea just off the jetty. The seafront is small but it's a nice walk along the coast before the sun goes down.

Accommodation – The lobby area is not very spacious and can be very crowded in the evening. The communal areas such as stairs, dining areas etc. were not very clean and it was very noticeable that things needed repairing/updating. The bedrooms were standard and ours faced the walkway and the hotel next door which played very loud music throughout the day which made any kind of afternoon nap impossible either in the room or by the pool. The only advantage with the room was that it had a fridge which was really welcomed addition. The safe does cost an additional 3 euros per day which we thought was tight given how much we paid for the holiday. The pool area was clean but crowded and the adult pool was a good spot if kids weren’t jumping in and out of the pool throughout the day. It could really have done with more supervising around the adult pool.

Food – We are foodies and we knew that we wouldn’t get the food we cook at home or indeed any great standard given the ‘all inclusive’ trip but to be honest we expected much better than we got and in light of the previous reviews, we really struggle to understand how people have rated the food as good. We ate in some other hotels along the way including the Almyra and the difference in both food standard and presentation is vast. The themed nights simply didn’t match the food that was on offer for example the Italian night had curried samosas, gammon and gravy! We both managed to pick up stomach bugs in the first 4 days and we are still adjusting now some 10 days later. The bread is not freshly baked as suggested and the fruit at breakfast is tinned fruit in the main.

Staff/Service – Generally we found the service to be good with restaurant and bar staff being good to excellent. The maids were also good but they shouted quite a lot during the hours of cleaning to one another up and down the corridors and if our maid was off then our room didn’t get cleaned which we had to complain at reception about but with no resolution that day. Our biggest gripe was with reception, we found reception to be particularly unhelpful and at times extremely rude. One particular receptionist shooed my partner away when the complaint was made about the room not being cleaned that day and the fridge having not been stocked in two days. Only did their attitude change when we mentioned reviewing this on Trip Advisor and suddenly fruit and flowers arrived in our room the very next day.

Conclusion – Our friends enjoyed their wedding, the weather was fantastic and the views were good but the overall experience of the holiday did not reflect the price we paid or indeed the reviews on Trip Advisor. We are picky and we like nice food but we don’t think that’s a lot to ask for when you stop at a hotel rated 9 out of 97 hotels in Paphos. We have stopped in 4 star hotels before and paid half the cost with better food, accommodation and service. This isn’t a 4 star hotel by European standards but is perhaps by Greek standards. Overall it was a poor holiday only saved by the weather, friends and the ‘all inclusive’ alcohol. Your hard earned money could be spent far more wisely than here and when you think you can get to the Caribbean for £1,500 per person then our recommendation would be to think wisely before stopping here is Paphos!

The hotel is Trip Advisor mad asking for reviews to be left as soon as you leave and to be fair it looks like that tactic has been quite successful for them. If you are a well-travelled person then you will see straight through this and indeed how hotels play the Trip Advisor game, this being one of them!

Room Tip: Sea view is essential and try and avoid the lefthand side of the hotel rooms if you can due to very...

Dear guest,

We would like to thank you for holidaying at the Louis Ledra Beach and for your review.

Firstly, we are happy to read that you enjoyed the views from our hotel, the several nearby services as well as the seafront. In regards to the noise coming from a nearby property, please be advised that we have been in contact with the hotel’s management next door which will hopefully resolve this issue soon. As for the cleanliness of our hotel areas, this is of prior importance, please be assured that your comments have already been forwarded to our housekeeping team who will take immediate actions if found necessary. Furthermore, regarding your comment about the crowded swimming pool area, we hope you understand that the month of August has always been the busiest period for resorts like ours due to which certain areas of the property become inevitably busy. As for the pool for adults, please be assured that our lifeguards are aware of your comment and will supervise the area more often. We are saddened to read that you did not enjoy your meals as we usually receive much commendation for the quality and selection of our cuisine. Nevertheless, your comments will be forwarded to our executive chef and actions to improve this aspect will be taken accordingly. As for the fruit selection at breakfast, please be advised that apart from our non-seasonal fruits and compotes on offer, we do provide our guests with a fresh selection of at least four different types of fruits and fruit salads on a daily basis. Concerning the incident during which one of our housekeeping staff missed to clean your room on a particular day, please be advised that we have investigated the matter and we would like to sincerely apologize for the error as this is certainly out of the norm. We are nonetheless surprised to read that the attention you have received from our receptionists was so negative. Our receptionists are all trained to provide the best possible service to all guests, making the standard of service which you describe not acceptable. Furthermore, in regards to guests’ decision to share their holiday experience with other people on the web, please note that everyone is welcomed to do that. We appreciate all reviews as they are a great source of feedback to determine the aspects of our hotel that can be improved. All in all, we were delighted to read that your friends enjoyed their wedding at our hotel and that you were pleased with our minibar, restaurant and bar service. Moreover, we are glad to read that you found our weather and All Inclusive beverages ideal.

Despite some negatives, we hope that you had a wonderful holiday and would like to once more thank you for staying at the Louis Ledra Beach where we hope to see you soon again.

Kind regards,

The Management.

The Hotel Louise Ledra Beach was the perfect venue for our trip to Cyprus the Hotel Staff without exception worked hard to ensure we had a great holiday, the location of the Hotel is just outside Paphos a short Journey by Bus or a lovely 35 to 40 Minute walk along the sea front to the vibrant Harbour and Market
The Animation staff Led by Luchi and ably assisted by Andréa, Jenna, Jonny and Adrea ( apologies if I spelled it wrong ) worked very hard to ensure that everyone had a good time
Whilst there we went on two trips the first on Wave Dancer Fireworks which involved a night time boat ride with a buffet dinner and entertainment as per all the other reviews this was a trip I would recommend to all both young and old
The second trip was discover the north I enjoy this all be it that it had some significance to me it is a fascinating journey taking in a beautiful old Monastery with stunning views of the town and harbour and a visit to the old Town of Kirenia with its Medieval Castle and picturesque harbour well worth the effort

All in all a fantastic trip to a beautiful Island with friendly people

Room Tip: The sea view rooms are well worth the extra Charge

The hotel on the whole did not, in our opinion, live up to other 4* hotels that we have stayed in. Will try and be impartial so it will benefit other users rather than just moan:

Location: Excellent. Couldn't be better, palm trees on grassy area behind the beach, just a few steps to the sea with lots of shade if wanted and cooling breeze. The sea is very rocky and has a deep drop - we loved it but it wouldn't be good for babies or small children. Great for snorkling. Worth going to the bay on the left as once you get past the seaweed is crystal clear and not wavy. The sunsets are amazing from the hotel and the walk along the coast to Paphos (40 minutes meander) is beautiful, especially as the sun is setting. Paphos harbour is lovely with a cosmopolitan atmosphere.

Hotel: It has been refurbished and is okay, however it just needs finishing off. The toilet facilities need refurbishing and just let the hotel down.

Entertainment - POOR!!!! The animators were lovely and worked really hard so hats off to them. The problem was it was darts, bingo, quizzes Kareoke and reps shows. We expected from a 4* hotel that there would be some professional shows ie a proper Greek dancing night.

Staff: were lovely and very helpful.

Food/restaurant: The food was very good with a lovely selection. The atmosphere in the restaurant was rather 'canteeny' being very busy and noisy. There is a gala and meze meze night by the pool bar which is great as it is very relaxing and has a lovely atmosphere.

If you have travelled around this would not be a 4* hotel and is definitely for people who want to be with British people doing British things.
