We have just returned following a 2 week stay at the Louis Ledra, Paphos. We are a family of 4 with a 17yr old daughter and 13yr old son. We arrived with 6 other family and friends who only stayed for a week.
Transfer - The transfer time from the airport is about 20-30 mins. On arrival at the hotel we were met with Champagne and orange juice, along with snacks in the impressive reception ( this occurs whatever time you arrive ). The staff were extremely friendly and our cases were taken up to our rooms whilst we checked in.
There is a deposit of 10euros per beach towel ( so save on luggage wait and leave yours at home ) and these are changed as often as you want.
ROOMS - The rooms are well appointed with a mini bar, flat screen TV, kettle etc and ( I'm informed ) a very good hairdrier. I have less hair than a tennis ball so have to take the girls word on that one !!
There was a bottle of sparkling wine in our room when we got there.
The beds were a bit too hard but a visit to reception saw our beds topped with soft mattress toppers which made them very comfortable.
The rooms are cleaned daily and fresh towels and the fridge stocked with water, juice, coke and lemonade every day. The maids left towel sculptures on the beds every other day which included Swans, elephants, turtles and hearts very nice touch
We had a pool and sea view from our room (136 &137 ) which were first floor and quiet, getting sun in the morning but shade in the hot afternoon.
POOLS - There are 4 pools. 1 indoor pool, 1 outdoor family fresh water pool, 1 (smaller) adult only pool and 1 shallow children's pool. All are fresh water and not salt water ( which was a make or break for us )
The Hotel is clean and well looked after and is predominately filled with British guests but we still had the "towels out " brigade from 0600. We joined in , but there are plenty of beds and the lifeguard will grab more if you ask. We set up between the pool and the beach where there was a pleasant breeze ( you needed it at 39 degrees )
BEACH -The beach is sandy but becomes quite rocky as soon as you enter. Enter the sea from the far left hand side and its easier on the feet, especially for the kids. Snorkelling is great, loads of bright fish without going out far at all.
Food- OUTSTANDING. The best all inclusive food we have ever had . Great choice, always fresh and even with a fussy 13yr old son, has always found something to eat, from breakfast in the morning, late breakfast ( danish etc) by the pool, lunch, afternoon snacks, diner, it's endless and I have come home the size of a small island.
The staff -OUTSTANDING. The manager is visible and approachable, wandering around talking to guests, helping out at the bar and making you feel special. His staff are the same. from the cheery cleaners to reception and especially the bar the staff. I have no doubt that if you are rude to them, you may not get the best service but that's being human. We chatted and laughed with them and they always remembered our drinks order.
Dress code for diner is smart shorts and shirt during the summer, which we felt was appropriate
Animation staff are great. Not too " in your face " . During the day there are a wide range of activities inc: Darts, shuffle board, boules, table tennis, tennis, volleyball.
The evening shows, I heard, were good, but we have never been ones for the shows and prefer a game of cards in the bar by the pool so didn't witness any of them .
There are jet ski's etc etc close by and are reasonably priced ( 40 euro for over 30mins on a double or 35 for a single rider )
We didn't leave the complex ( other than a short walk to the Pharmacy and a visit to the supermarket across the road which turned out more expensive than the hotel shop ) but the other half of our party walked 20mins to the harbour and had a lovely reasonably priced meal out .
Free wifi is available in reception which is well air conditioned and you have a wide choice of ( decent ) spirits ( not the usual paint stripper you get in an A.I ) as well as a wide choice of included cocktails.
If I had any observation, kids love a bit of wifi, so to extend it to all the common areas would have been nice.
OVERALL- If you want to be made to feel special and love your food, this is the place to go. Small enough to care but large enough that our kids didn't get bored and met other kids the same age.I would recommend Louis Ledra and would return, certainly.
Thanks to all the staff for making our 20th wedding anniversary so enjoyable.
