“Perfect Location”
Reviewed 20 September 2011

We have been going to Cyprus for our holidays for the last 8 years. This year we stayed at the Paphinia Sea view apartments. these apartments are excellent, and we wish we had found them before. We arrived after office hours but had been advised before arrival where the key to the apartment would be so no problems. The apartment was spacious well equipped and clean. A cleaner attended every morning and linen was regularly changed. There can be no better location in Paphos, on the sea front with stunning sea and harbour views. The Big hotels in Paphos must be envious of this location. Yes you have to pay extra for air conditioning but this is the norm with most Self catering apartments in Paphos. The office is located at the rear of the Pizza Express which is attached to the apartment complex, and by the way if staying at these apartments you get a 15% discount at Pizza Express. I would give this location 10 out of 10, the perfect location.

Room Tip: If you can choose apartment 101 it has a huge double balcony.

We have been coming to Paphos regularly for over 10 years .We stay at the Paphinia Sea Veiw superior Apartments all the time.
For people who are not familiar to the area and don't know the owners, or the location of the officies it can be quite daunting but once you know its very easy. There are two offices , one is situated behind Cydive and the other is at the end near McDonalds. These are usually closed at certain times of the day but Notices are left in the window to tell cleints what apartments are theirs and how to get in !......Since this area has been pedestrianised its alot quieter from the boy racers that used to travel towards the harbour and back..You are near to the bus stops, resetrants and shops..and most of all The Mediteranian Sea is just across the road...You can watch the fishing boats in a morning going out and have a lovely dip in the sea....We love it .xxx

We arrived by taxi at approx 4pm on Sunday, taxi driver did'nt know where reception was so just shrugged and left us at the car park. Thankfully a waiter we got chatting to showed us where reception was (through the car park & back of shops) this was also the pool area. there was a note on the window telling us our room was open as reception was closed.
we got to our apartment only to find the air con had'nt been switched on(it was 42c that day and we had just climbed 2 flights with our cases) surely it is'nt too much to expect air con in a superior deluxe apartment?
Mon morning we went to reception/pool area (to get air con switched on!!) and that"s when we noticed the pool....... it was absolutely filthy, the water was brown, the felt around the pool was torn and mouldy, the steps into the pool were hanging off and the sun loungers were disgusting. then the receptionist told us we would have to pay another 91 euros for air-con. she said there had been a problem with the pool but it would be fixed in the next day or 2, she then told us we could use the pool at Basilica gardens. I told her we wanted moved to other accommodation, she phoned the rep who at first tried to tell me the pool was fine when she was there the week before. I told her I wanted her to come and see it now, which she refused to do, but she agreed to find us alternative accommodation before she hung up on me!!
Tues morning we got up to find water coming through the roof onto the cooker......
receptionist came up, gave us keys to the apartment next door and gave us a message from the rep(Fiona) she told us we would have to deal directly with bedbank. com in the UK if we wanted moved. we spent all day on the phone to the uk with the rep trying to get us out of there, wed again on the phone all morning. We decided to go for a swim at the Basilica gardens(which was lovely) but when we were chatting to staff(hoping they had rooms available!!)we were told we were not allowed to use the pool as we were not guests, the manager phoned our reception to find out why we'd been told we could, but they denied they had said it!!!!!!!
we got moved to the kefalonites on thursday and our holiday finally began. thank you Catriona (bedbank.com) ....
Oh I almost forgot , our power cut out three times & we had to call out maintainance man,
the third time he came out he took my husband downstairs, showed him the main fuse box at the bottom of the flats and told him "next time it happens just come down here and switch it back on yourself"
Finally, we were informed that we would have to pay for air-con wherever we went in Cyprus, this is not true it was free at the kefalonites and it's free in the Damon apartments!!
we booked this holiday through Miss Ellie's Travel, it cost 2.400....... on the plus side apartment (2 bedroom superior deluxe) was lovely, great views & big balcony .

Paphinia SeaVie... A, General Manager at Paphinia Sea View Apartments, responded to this review, 18 January 2012
The Management cannot be held responsible for the actions of a taxi driver. It is not our fault if the taxi driver, unrelated to our company, took the guests to the wrong entrance.

As far as the swimming pool is concerned the management agreed with the local rep, Fiona, that there was nothing wrong with the swimming pool.

On the matter of air-conditioning it was made very clear in the contract with the travel company (BedBank) that air-conditioning was an optional extra which had to be paid for separately by the guests on site. The Rep agreed with this and reminded the guests that this was standard procedure.

There was a water leak from a tank on the roof. This affected the guests’ kitchen area. They were immediately offered another superior deluxe two-bedroom apartment directly overlooking the sea. They declined this and said that they would prefer to wait until the leak was repaired. This was the guests’ preferred choice and the work was completed when they were out of the flat. The dampness did affect the electrics on one occasion.

After so many complaints we suggested to the Rep that perhaps these guests would be happier if they were moved to other hotel apartments. This switch took place and the guests were moved to apartments of a much lower category. They complained again to the Rep and to the travel company but by this time they were informed that there was nothing further that could be done.

Just got home after 2 weeks spent at Paphinia Seaview Appartments in Paphos ,Cyprus and just wanted to let people know how lovely it was. We were taken to our studio a short walk from reception and swimming pool .The only downfall being there are no lifts so we had to drag our suitcases up the steps which in the sweltering Cyprus sun and after a four and a half hour flight made us both puff and sweat! But when we saw our room and the curtains were pulled back from the huge patio doors to reveal the most wonderful view of the sea and harbour it was all worrthwhile. The studio had a kitchen complete with microwave ,fridge/freezer and even a washing machine and tumble drier ,a modern bathroom and 2 beds with a pull. out sofa for a larger party .We spent many an evening with a drink watching people going by on the amazing sea front in the warm Cyprus sun We found a restaurant a short walk away where we enjoyed a 3 course meal for 8.5 euros and a free glass of wine ,really great value and friendly service .Some days we were on our own relaxing in and around the pool.Heaven! All in all we were thoroughly delighted by our whole holiday and would reccomend the Paphinia Seaview Appartments to anyone.

There was 10 of us,in 3 apartments. The end apartment where my friend her husband and baby was staying wasnt finished off and they had no means of cooking, until a few days later.Over all the apartment were basic but nice. The cleaners could do with a course in cleaning but overall they gave clean linen and towels and left their mops and sweeping brushes outside on the terrace with a view of if in need help yourselves.
The pool was lovely and warm and Stavros kept us amused with his daily banterings trying to keep the ex-pat kids at bay with the pool rod.
The place of Paphos is amazing and we hired a car for 22 cp a day and went a little futher a field. The Adonis baths and water falls are beautiful and Aphrodites Rock is a vision in itself.
The people are very, very friendly and they interact great with the kids and adults too.The Harbour area is a buzz of activity and is full of little bars and places to eat.
The men had a full day at the waterpark with the kids and thought it was great value for money and would have liked to go back but we ran out of time..
Overall the holiday was fantastic and we will be definatley be going back.

We have just returned from two weeks at the Paphinia apartments.

We had an excellent two bedroom apartment with a tremendous view of the sea and harbour. Most apartments have a good view except for the ones next to Pizza Express.

All the apartments have been very recently refurbished and also have new double glazed patio doors (one in the lounge and one in the bedroom) leading onto a large balcony.

The apartments are very spacious but somewhat basic in equipment especially in the kitchen. The full size cooker has been replaced with an electric hob and microwave, the kitchen however does have a good fridge freezer. The utensils are also quite limited.

Paphos is a great place to visit with plenty going on, we would certainly recommend Paphinia and the area to others.
