We have just returned back from 2 weeks at the Paphinia Seaview Apartments, 7th to 21st June. We stayed in room 218A which is on the top floor, lots of steps up to it but well worth the view. The apartment was excellent, it was comfortable, very clean and had every kitchen appliance you could possibly want for a holiday. Our cleaner, Georgia, was very friendly and would return later to clean our apartment if we weren't ready ... we're not 'morning' people on holiday! The apartment was cleaned 6 days a week and towels and bed linen changed 2 to 3 times a week. Our flight home on Saturday wasn't until the evening and we were allowed to keep our apartment until 7.00 pm which we were truly grateful for. It meant we had a full day to relax and enjoy our last day. I needed some help from the office on one occasion and the lady there was very very helpful and friendly. No mozzies, no ants, no crawlies at all. Perfect! We really really loved staying at the Paphinia and would definitely stay again if we return to Paphos. Big supermarket 2 minute walk via footpath at rear of Paphinia. We are a couple in our mid 60's and loved this place.

Room Tip: We requested a top floor for the superb view, but I would recommend the first floor for anyone with...

Me and my partner have just returned from our second visit to the paphinia and we cant wait to book again for next year. We stayed in 118b and the room has everything you could possibly need (literrally) and has an amazing view from the balcony which have sun loungers and a table and chairs. The cleaning staff are friendly and do a great job.
We cannot fault this place and will definitely be returning in the future.

We stayed here in room 205 for two weeks and it has been glorious. The apartment has the most wonderful sea views and has everything you could ever wish for.

The apartment was spotless and was cleaned daily by the cleaner with linen & towels changed twice per week.

The staff are all wonderful and the location perfect.

Well done to all at the Paphinia keep up the good work.

Me and my partner have just returned from the Paphinia. We were impressed, in general, but it did have its sore points. We were in Room 119, which had ample space for the 2 of us. We did think the charge for the air-conditioning was a little excessive, though. As we arrived on the Saturday and reception was closed until Monday, we had to make do with the extractor fan we had brought from home at first. Due to the extremely hot temperatures(30 to 35 degrees on average) during our stay, we had very little choice but to cough up and pay. At 16 Euros a night, the cost soon added up. We have paid for similar priced holidays throughout Europe, and the air-conditioning has always been included at no extra charge. Also, our washing machine didn't work properly. We didn't bother reporting it, though, as we hadn't come on holiday to do the laundry. The number of stairs up to the apartment was difficult for my partner to negotiate, so I wouldn't recommend this accommodation for anyone with walking difficulties. The Paphinia tried their best to help with this by putting us on their lowest floor, but it still meant walking up 21 of the 42 steps. The nearest beach is approximately 20 minutes walk for the able bodied. You can swim in the sea by the Paphinia, but it is very rocky and not for everyone. The day before we left, the cleaner leaves a note from `The Management`, in which it says(and I quote), "Many guests have an enjoyable time here but they do not bother to say so in writing. However, every now and again a Troll will post a malicious and thoroughly unjustified review which does not reflect the true picture." I found this to be a little harsh. There are many poster's on here singing the praises of the Paphinia. Just because one or two point out an imperfection or two, does that make us a malicious Troll? I think not. We pay our money and are simply expressing an opinion. It seems `The Management` don't share this view.

Room Tip: Try out Room 119, as long as you don't intend doing any laundry while you're on holiday!

It is now our turn to reply to this guest’s comments. He was commenting on “Room” 119. Room, what room? Flat 119 is a superior deluxe, 850 square foot, two-bedroom apartment with a top of the range bathroom, a very fully equipped kitchen, a spacious living/dining room and an enormous balcony directly overlooking the Mediterranean. Is that a room?

Our award winning website and Lowcost website make it very clear that air-conditioning is an optional extra which is paid by the guest on site, if required. Since this has been made very clear by Lowcost and ourselves for years this should not have come as a surprise to these guests. Moreover, all self-catering apartments in Cyprus charge extra for air-conditioning, if required.

This guest informs us that he has not had to pay extra for air-conditioning in other accommodation elsewhere. By that he surely means a small hotel bedroom somewhere with an average bathroom and NO extra bedrooms, fully equipped kitchen, sitting/dining area and large balcony overlooking the sea. Moreover, our apartments are so large that we simply cannot afford to pay for the air-conditioning since our prices are so reasonable.

We have checked our air-conditioning invoices and this guest did NOT pay €16.00 per day for air-conditioning. He actually paid €5.00 a day for one bedroom.

This guest also appears to be shocked by the high temperatures in Cyprus at the end of June. What did he expect? Why did he not check with Lowcost before booking his apartment?

We are then informed that the washing machine was not working properly. As soon as we received this guest’s TripAdvisor comments our technician checked the washing machine and spoke to the clients who were staying in flat 119 after these guests had left. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the washing machine. If these guests did not understand how to turn on the washing machine they should have informed the office and the technician would have shown them in a matter of minutes.

We then have a moan about the twenty steps leading to our apartments on the first floor. It usually takes most people one minute to ascend twenty steps. If guests have a walking disability then they should have discussed this beforehand with their travel company. We consider this to be yet another absurd exaggeration.

Paphinia has always made it very clear that a European Union Blue Flag beach is just across the road. This is absolutely correct. Other sandier beaches are situated a little further away.

This guest also informs us about what is blatantly obvious and that is that Paphinia has received an awful lot five star (full marks) reviews over the last year. Yes, we do know that and perhaps that is why we have been awarded five TripAdvisor awards in a little over two years as well as two letters from the Chief Executive of TripAdvisor informing us that Paphinia appears in the top 1% of its hotels/hotel apartments worldwide. Of course, we do accept genuine, meaningful criticism, however, this is most certainly not the case on this occasion. This guest himself mentions the word “Troll” but we would not even give him that description. This is a sad, sad attempt at criticism which is totally riddled with untruths and inaccuracies. Somebody desperately trying hard to find something to criticise even though there is absolutely no justification or truth in what they have to say. All comments relating to air-conditioning, weather temperature, washing machine, stairs and beaches were nonsensical. Of course, the huge number of guests who continuously award us full marks are well aware of this.

We stayed here in room 209 for one week and wish we could retire here. The apartment has the best view one could ever ask for and the apartment also has everything one could want, from pots and pans to air conditioning. The only thing that let us down was only staying for one week, we wished we had booked for longer.
Apartment 209 was spotlessly clean and kept that way with a cleaner coming in daily, the bed linen and towels were changed twice in the week we were there.
We honestly cannot fault the service Paphinia supplied for the enjoyment of our holiday and I promise, we will be back for a longer stay at a future date.
