Recently got back from a week stay at the Amphora with my sister.

Positives –

Great location, nice walk along the coast to the main harbour and restaurants/bars and nightlife takes around 15 minutes.
Nice pool area, sun loungers are all quite spaced out and the pool itself was beautiful and clean
Great view from our balcony, all rooms have a sea view
Rooms were cleaned every day and had air con
You can rent bikes, (just outside of reception) which we did and I really recommend, was a great way to get around and see Paphos. 5 minute cycle to the Harbour and we also cycled to the archaeological park, Tomb of the Kings which didn’t take very long at all.
Breakfast was great, wide selection of yoghurt, cereals, eggs (hard boiled, fried and scrambled), bacon, porridge served with a choice tea, coffee, hot chocolate and juice.
We booked directly with the hotel and we got a free return airport transfer which was handy.
One of the reception ladies was very helpful and went out of her way to print us off a map of the local area. Thanks lady.

Negatives -

Quite a long wait for food at the pool bar, but the food was quite nice.
In the communal toilets/changing rooms the automatic light by the door goes out whilst you’re still in the cubicle, which is a bit annoying. We also showered and got ready in here on our last day and the lights went out into pitch black whilst we were in the shower
Lollies by the pool bar are expensive compared to everywhere else.

Overall, a great find! Would definitely recommend staying here if you're travelling to Paphos.

I have just returned from a one weeks stay at the Amphora Hotel & Suites.. The location of the hotel was perfect - just a short 10-15 mins walk to the harbour. We couldn't really fault it at all. Everything was really lovely - we stayed BB only but they were very good - plenty of choice and the food was very good. The room was very clean - plenty of space and the maids visited twice a day (which we have never had on previous holidays). Plenty of clean towels and bedlinen changed regular. All the rooms are seaview which is fabulous - sunbeds are spaced very well - not on top of one anothe! Pool area is lovely - nice pool bar where the staff are very friendly - also have nice music playing (Love FM). Very relaxing!!! The pool is lovely - not too cold - but not really deep enough to be diving into. . The hotel staff are very helpful if you need to know anything. . Plenty of lovely places to eat out locally and in the harbour!! We had some lovely meals. . I could go on and on saying how nice it is but won't - I think you will get my drift that we have had a lovely stay at this accomodation. . I would definately recommend anyone staying here!!

We stayed for 9 days, which is just about perfect, any longer might be stretching it. Our thoughts below:

Positives:
*Location - right on the water, close enough to harbor and night life to enjoy, but far enough that when you want peace and quiet you can have it. Everything is walking distance - shops, bars, restaurants, several beaches. Spot on.

*Size - The hotel is tiny compared to some of the massive resorts out here. This means great attention from staff, individual treatment as a guest and no queues at the buffet, no fighting to reserve sun loungers, no waiting at the bar. The hotel was at 100% occupancy during our stay but it retained its exclusive and relaxed atmosphere.

*Rooms - Very modern, minimalist and clean. Just what you want for a beach holiday.

*Beachfront Path and Bicycle Hire - The hotel is adjescant to a path that runs along the coast for about 7 miles, sunset walks are brilliant. There's a convenient bicycle hire just outside the reception, great idea. We had such fun exploring Paphos on the bikes.

*Suite 48 - There is a cafe/restaurant called Suite 48 which shares the beachfront land with the hotel and it is quite simply excellent. Relaxing vibe, ultra chic decor/atmosphere, exceptional cocktails, even better food and service that trumps anything we've had in London. Can't recommend it enough, and its a 2 min walk from the main pool of the hotel.

*Food - very simple, but excellently prepared. Nothing flashy, nothing out of this world, but everything prepared to a superb standard and delivered with polite and eager service.

Negatives:
*For some reason Expedia advertised the hotel as adults only...It certainly was not. Its very family friendly. This is great for some, but we don't have kids and were looking for a place where you could have your dinner without little ones stropping at the next table.

*Pool Bar - not developed to full potential, the rest of the hotel is so well looked after and run that the pool bar seemed to lag a bit. Strange as the weather here has been perfect for 9 days straight, the pool bar should be a real focus point.

Overall:

Put it this way, we've booked for the same time next year while checking out. Can't wait to come back :)

Room Tip: We were on the ground floor, which was lovely, but with the views the hotel commands, I think a firs...

Just returned from a 6 night break with my (adult) daughter at the Amphora Hotel and Suites. Located in a quiet area of Paphos, an easy 15 minute stroll along the coastal path into Paphos Harbour. Excellent choice of restaurants (spoilt for choice) within walking distance of hotel and a couple of supermarkets too. Suite 48, located in hotel grounds, served lovely sandwiches (one to share for 2 people would be our recommendation, huge portions!) and lovely setting for cocktails in the evening We stayed in a 2 bed suite overlooking the coast and pool, beautiful views and stunning sunsets. The suite was spacious, minimally furnished, which suits us, beds very comfortable and air con excellent. Breakfast was very good, plenty of choice, something to suit everyone. No complaints there. Pool area quiet and sunbeds well spaced, not on top of fellow guests, so enjoyed the peace and tranquillity and not being forced to listen to loud music blasting from the pool bar, bliss. Pool bar prices very reasonable and food good too. The hotel's bar/restaurant, situated on the coastal path, serves great food and the local wine is very drinkable and inexpensive. Great place to chill and watch the world go by! Well worth a visit to Paphos Old Town, we stopped for a drink at Mews Bar/restaurant (recommended by hotel reception,) spectacular views over Paphos town and the coast. All staff at Amphora are extremely helpful and work so hard but a special mention, Octavia (housekeeping) who serviced our room daily to a very high standard, thank you. Overall a fab holiday, lovely hotel and location, would recommend for a holiday away from the hustle and bustle of the busy Paphos tourist area but easily accessible if that's your choice.

Room Tip: All rooms appear to have a sea view, our Suite (113) overlooked the sea and pool area, beautiful.

I booked this hotel for two nights with my wife and baby daughter. First impressions were good, the Hotel felt like a modern Motel as you enter your rooms from the outside. To our surprise the hotel had upgraded us to a Suite overlooking the pool area and gorgeous sea views. The rooms are basic, one sofa a desk a TV and Bed with bedside cabinets also new travel cot for our daughter (perfect for us as out daughter was able too roam around and not break anything), they had a minibar fridge (empty) and an ironing board with iron plugged inside the wardrobe which i thought was clever, very spacious and cool just what you need as it was red hot, bathrooms are very nice with open shower and large bath tub, view from room amazing all hotel rooms face the sea. Pool area again basic two pools nice temperature relaxing area with a small pool bar serving drinks and snacks (cocktails served in plastic cups and very amateur, did not have any food accept a cheap ice cream that honestly was awful). Good selection at breakfast it was adequate not amazing i.e they had fake weetabix??? i mean i wouldn't even know were to get these. I think the hotel should provide at least one bottle of water in the minibar also the wifi was pretty crap too so that needs looking at. One thing i did like was that you are not allowed to smoke around the pool area. I would say this hotel is good for young families or a young professional couple who want to chill out and bake in the sun. Overall a modern quiet hotel in a good location.

Room Tip: No water in fridge get some drinks before you arrive.

I stayed at this hotel twice in June 2014 for 2 nights for business. I enjoyed the stay so much the first time that I returned.
Positive points - clean rooms, sea views, friendly and helpful staff, nice grassed area with sunbeds, good pool with pool bar, breakfast is self service but a good selection. When the hotel is not full although they do not offer late checkouts they do offer the use of a room for 15 mins to shower. This is great but it seems to be used by everyone so there are wet towels on the floor etc. There are some lovely restaurants over the road with a good selection of quality food. Air con works very well and reasonably quiet.
Negative points - no late checkout available even when not full, little to do for children (I was travelling alone but if my 5 year old had been with me he would have been bored quickly), the small beach is not maintained and has a big build up of seaweed (hotels I have been to in the med with same issue remove the seaweed regularly). It is a new build hotel which some may find a negative factor but I loved the clinical feel of it.
On my second visit I had a suite which is well worth the upgrade.
The hotel offers free airport transfers if booked through booking.com but you must contact the hotel to arrange in advance but transfers are 22 euros if otherwise booked with the hotel.
A 20 min journey from the airport and a 10-15 min walk into Paphos harbour.
A quiet hotel and I certainly recommend for singles or couples

We have just returned from a 3 night stay here and what an excellent choice it was! It is comfortable, clean and a nice pool area with more than enough sun loungers and a pool bar. We stayed B&B so I can only comment on breakfast, which was very good with plenty of choice.
We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived and I must mention Laura one of the receptionists who went the extra mile in ensuring her guests comfort, definitely an asset to the hotel.
I will not hesitate to stay at the Amphora on my next visit to Paphos, it is a pleasant stroll either along the beach front or the road past many bars and cafes in to Paphos.
