We visited this establishment twice recently for lunch as we bought two Cypus Mail Daily Deals for it.

The view of Paphos and the surrounding coastline is certainly impressive.

On the first occasion we had the buffet which is served I understand between 1p.m and 5 p.m. We ate at 1.30 p.m (only two other tables were occupied) to find that the food was cold and some was very sparse. For an 'eat all you like' buffet it had the feel of rations and WWII. We would have had wine (we were with friends) but there seemed to be no pricelist or anyone able to say what each wine was so we settled for beers and lemonades. We left feeling very disappointed.

We still had the second 'deal' to use up so ventured again - just the two of us or lunch but this time ate 'a la carte' - again only a few tables were occupied so atmosphere was a tad lacking. In the time we waited for our food to arrive until we left about 1 hour later no one touched the buffet which sat there forlorn and cooling.

Our a la carte experience was much more enjoyable and the food well worth the price charged - whether we will go back again is up for discussion though as there are many restaurants to choose from in Paphos and barring the exceptional view The 5th Floor was overall disappointing.

To be fair the place may come alive in the evening but our two lunch experiences (Deal or no deal) were disappointing

The 5th Floor Restaurant in Paphos presents a good value self service luncheon at a fair price. Off the usual beaten track, those who wish to enjoy a good feed during the day at a price little more than a big fast food meal should seek this alternative. The main reason I have marked the establishment as 3 and not 4 is because choice, although very good, is limited to Cypriot cooking. The surrounds and kitchens are capable of much more.

Near the main government buildings in Paphos the restaurant is located on the 5th floor of a block above a Bank Of Cyprus branch. There is a public car park below the building accessed from the side of the building. The car park is dark with lighting that is supposed to illuminate when movement is detected. Many units seem to have malfunctioned. A ticket is given on access and must be paid before you leave at the machines in the car park. Spaces appear to have been pre booked and it is impossible to know wheter these reservations are official. I found unmarked spaces on the 3rd underground floor. Lifts take you to the 5th floor.

The restaurant is very light and airy, clean and welcoming. There are superb views over the town and the sea view makes this place a worthwhile dining spot. Seating is comfortable and the staff work well together.

Buffet is self service and includes a selection of entrees', extensive choices of main courses followed by many deserts, mainly sweet and sticky. Drinks are extra and you can order from your table.

Visit the buffet as often as you wish. I mentioned that the food is nearly all typical of Cyprus. I minor grumble is that non of it was prepared over a charcoal grill. Safety regulations? I forgot to ask.

I rate this establishment as great value for money with the added bonus of wonderful scenic views. I attended as part of a group function but many other diners were eating there. They enjoyed the same food.

Why this restaurant is No. 193 on Trip Advisor is beyond me, as it deserves to be much higher. We have been meaning to go to this restaurant for a long time & are glad that we did. The starters are included in the price of the main courses & include dips, tempura & mushrooms, all of which were very good. My wife & I both had the lamb shank, which was delicious & fell off the bone. A lovely setting with great views over Paphos to the sea. The staff & service was excellent and there is plenty of space between tables. the setting & ambience is lovely and we will definitely go back.

We purchased a discount voucher for this restaurant about a month ago, after hearing good things about it. We had to postpone our original booking to last night, and it just so happened that we found out another 2 groups of friends were also going, they also had the discount vouchers, and we all decided we would sit together. Some of our group had dined here before, with mixed opinions, but it was our 1st visit.
We were then told by a very abrupt and aloof waiter that as a group of 8 we could only use 2 vouchers, we had all paid 15€ for a 30€ discount on each couples bill, and we had all booked separately, we made our feelings felt, and begrudgingly the waiter agreed to honour the vouchers and issue 4 separate bills.
We then waited approx. 20 mins before we were asked if we would like a drink, he then took our orders for food and drinks, it is worth pointing out that the restaurant was only 10-15% occupied, including our group.
We had our fixed starters that were OK, and then our mains followed. Three had the braised beef that while quite tasty was more than 50% bone and fat, leaving a very small edible portion, two of us had the duck, again it was a small leg only, but quite tasty portion, the rest had salmon and chicken, and all commented on how ordinary it was.
The food overall was just about average, and no where near the quality we were lead to believe it would be, and the waiting staff lead a lot to be desired, we were never asked to comment on our food, we all ate our meals as we were hungry, but all left feeling very disappointed, and none of us said we would return. I certainly will not, as there are far better quality meals and service at much less than the €30 per head we paid to be had in the Paphos area.
Perhaps they had a bad night !

Having regularly visited many restaurants in Paphos and the surrounding area I am surprised to see that the 5th floor is not rated much higher, even in the top ten. We fined there twice in September and we're not disappointed. I can think of many other restaurants in the area that do not measure up to the 5th Floor's standards. First class food in a great atmosphere with really pleasant and knowledgable staff, thank you!
