“Really enjoable stay”
Reviewed 23 December 2013

After going to a friends wedding in Protaras we planned in a few days to relax on our own. We had previously stayed at the Akti beach in June 2008 and been very impressed.

The hotel is a short drive/bus ride from Paphos, it's possible to walk to the harbour area along the front which is a really nice walk provided it's not too hot.

Our room was great overlooking the pool and sea with a great balcony/outdoor area. Air-conditioning is now provided free of charge which was a welcom change from our first visit.

The lower pool gets quite busy with children playing etc (not a complaint - this is what a pool is for!) but there is another quieter pool which is great for length swimming. On an evening it's possible to take a nice walk along the front in either direction. However the only bar we found to have a drink was Dimi bar which you pass on the way to the hotel.

The food was varied and of a high standard. The only disappointment was that on our first visit it was possible to sit outside by the pool to eat which was really pleasant. The restaurant was very crowded so this would seem to be an easy way to creat more space.

Good stay - would happily return.

We visited akti beach village resort with my family in June 2013 and had an amazing week. We enjoyed our holidays so much and we returned again end of October in 2013. Everything was just as perfect as before.staff are very helpful and polite speak really good English. Food was excellent and every night there is a different theme night buffet with big variety of dishes, breakfast and " lunch" also are very good. The rooms are cleaned every day and are vary spacious with all comfortable facilities. One thing I love about this holiday is the fact you can just relax all day. The walk to main road is a little far but there are always buses and taxis available. The gardens of the resort are very beautiful and you can enjoy them just by seating on your room's balcony. The reception personnel are very helpful and always polite. All of them are perfect, Natalia, Sarah, and the other girls are fantastic. Special thanks to Saji and Jenny and all the rest in the restaurant. The personnel of the resort is very friendly and they always try to make you happy. The market place up in the village is lovely too and the harbour area is fantastic. Cyprus is beautiful island and I can't wait to come back at the Akti village.

stayed here for a week end of October, all inclusive, the rooms are apartments, pretty basic, food average, staff brilliant, glad we were all inclusive as nothing in the area, 1 bar about 10mins walk away, no supermarkets apart from the one on site. No beach to speak of, met some great people there. As stated in previous reviews about 20 mins walk uphill to bus stop to pathos or coral bay. Bus is 1euro fifty each time you use or you can pay 5 euros for a daily pass or 15 for a weekly one if you intend lots of bus rides. The hotel was closing for winter on the day we left and they let us keep our room for free until we left which was good of them. We enjoyed our holiday but due to hotel location would not go back. For anyone going next year hopefully majority of building work next door will be finished.

Booked this last minute and found it too be one of the worst hotels I have been too. Breakfast was poor the scrambled eggs resembled custard. Lunch was okay but done on a real budget, and the evening meal just cheap and basically not so good. Evening entertainment was shocking, it was basically so poor it was embarrissing(AND THIS IS BEARING IN MIND HOTEL ENT GENERALLY NOT FANTASTIC).The accomodation at this hotel again really poor. However the biggest problem is the fact it wassurrounded by a really large building site, you were woken mon- fri by hammer drills at 7 am and at one time 6.50 which hotel or agent should inform guests when booking. To sum up this hotel bad location, tired hotel, food poor but eatable, entertainment terrible. This hotel too far out of pathos too have a walk out on a night( its 10 euros in a taxi) but we went out 4 nights because evening meal boring and plain, plus hotel dire in evenings generally. I do not generally slate hotels and pick out best points(if read my other reveiws), but found few good ones at this hotel. When you look that for a couple of hundred pounds more people can stay at the louis Phateon and all that it offers I think most families with decent expectation of a hotel should avoid this one!

Room Tip: try to avoid a room at back of complex as noise from building site ridiculas!

Just returned from a week stay half board at akti beach with my husband and 4 year old son. The hotel is advertised as a 4 star but I would say its a 3 star. Firstly il say that the staff who work at the hotel are brilliant, they are so friendly and they work long hours and always have a smile on their face! So well done to the staff. Rooms are pretty basic but clean although we had a slight problem with ants in ours. The rooms are cleaned everyday if you want them to be. The food is buffet style and it is ok, could do with having a bit more of a choice though. It is a shame their is no propper sandy beach either. We went to coral beach which is a lovely beach about 15 min bus ride away, The views over the sea are lovely and there are lots of sunloungers to sunbathe. My son loved the swimming pool and the little kids play area. There is some building work going on at the minute as they r building a new hotel next door but this didnt really bother us. There is an entertainment team however the entertainment when we were there was a bit boring. Hotel is a bit out of the way, if you want to go to paphos their is bus stops on the main road but it is 20 min walk. The hotel does do a shuttle bus service to paphos. If you want to see more of the island then i would recommend hiring a car. Facilities are mainly good their is a tennis court, pool table, indoor, outdoor pool, jacuzzi and you can hire bikes for a charge. Overall it is a pretty quiet place, we had a pleasant stay but I dont think we would go again.

Room Tip: Try and get a seaview room

Just got back from staying at the Akti on the All Inclusive, well I say all inclusive but it's not,we have been to loads of all inclusive hotels and when staying AI it should be AI but at the Akti it's only certain times that you can have drinks and only certain items ! Whats that all about? There was 5 of us,hubby and I with our x3 children.I wanted a cocktail but they have different menus for the All Inclusive, not much to choose from,x3 drinks I asked for but it wasn't included. The diet coke tasted so watered down it was awful, all the drinks are watered down.
The food wasnt all that either, the choice wasn't there and they served up this Pork in gravy which looked sooo fatty! We hardly eat anything.Reading the reviews on here when people say it's lovely food, just makes me wonder where they have eaten before !
On the plus side the rooms are big and clean, but that's it,the deco is set in the 90's,the beds are rock hard and pillows that are about 2inches thick !so not a good nights sleep.
They are building a really big hotel right next door to the Akti,I know it's not the hotels fault and cannot do anything about this but some guests were complaining about the work starting early and waking them up,we didn't hear this as the apartments are on spacious grounds but if you get an apartment next to the building works then I imagine this can be a problem.
They have an indoor pool with sauna jacuzzi steam room etc,but you don't get that relax feel when you walk in there, like we have experienced at other hotels, the sauna you can only book for 30 mins a day ! Again never heard of this, when all inclusive it normally is all inclusive and not limited to things.
Kids wanted a milkshake but again only in the mornings !
The outside pool is very nice and the grass area leading down to the sea, where you can have a little paddle is very nice.
The entertainment wasn't good, not a lot going on.
Would we return.......NO,we have stayed in a lot of hotels all over Cyprus and we would only rate this as a 3 star,no way a 4 star as listed. We were just so pleased we didn't book for a 2 week stay as that would of been so disappointing.
It's out the way of Paphos town centre aswell so you may want to hire a car.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the big building site next door to the hotel !

Thank you for your constructive comments and for being our guests. Your comments are very highly appreciated and will help us to upgrade our resort's services and facilities. We are very happy that you give us the opportunity to correct things that did not meet your expectations. Kindly note that the All Inclusive menu is very succesful and we receive very good comments. regarding the rooms please be informed that all rooms are under renovation and will be ready by end of March 14. Regarding the spa comments it seems that this is a misunderstanding as we do not have such a policy. I will make sure this will not happen again.

My boyfriend and I are just coming to the end of a week at the Akti beach. What can I say, it's been exactly what we wanted, and more.

Firstly, the accommodation, although fairly basic, is very spacious and our room has a lovely balcony overlooking the tennis courts. Every day we have returned to find it spotless and everything tidied up nicely. You should be made aware that a double bed may comprise two singles, with a double mattress on top. Don't let this put you off as this didn't cause us any issues at all. Any issues with the room were swiftly dealt with by the hotel staff.

Next, the food. We went all inclusive, and to be honest we were not expecting a great deal for the price. Again the Akti has outdone our expectations - the food is all fresh, delicious and there is plenty of options, even for myself as a vegetarian. However, as a vegetarian I occasionally found it difficult to distinguish what was veggie and what wasn't. The food is labelled but not for veggies.

Location-wise, the hotel is a 5 minute drive from the tourist area of Paphos. There is some major building work going on next door, however the noise is minimal and we do not think that it affected our holiday one bit. As the hotel is just outside Paphos, I would definitely recommend hiring a car from the airport, this makes it easier to explore Cyprus and gives you plenty of options if you want to get away from the hotel for a bit. We went as far as Ayia Napa one day, for example.

We both agree that we would come here again in a heartbeat, a great mix of people, good accommodation, great food and drink and staff that were more than helpful.

5/5

Also look up ZEPHYROS ADVENTURE SPORTS for some great activities from Lee and his team. We went sea kayaking - review to follow.
