We stayed at Akti in September 2009. The resort itself was average, nicely set out and simple enough to get around. I will say I am only going to tell you my experience, I'm a big believer in that a holiday is what YOU make it.
ROOM:
The room was clean and tidy. It consisted of a kitchen area with sink, cupboards, fridge and hob with very small oven. The kitchen contained minimum plates/cups, utensils and cutlery. On the other side of the room was a double bed (two singles put together), and there was also a table and chair to sit at in the mddle of the room if needed. Opposite the beds were a set of very big wardrobes so LOTS of space for belongings. There was a seperate bathroom which was clean, simple and spacious. Also included was a balcony, with a table and two chairs. Plenty for me and my partner but you would struggle with a family.
RESORT:
Akti resort is set right next to the sea, I wouldn't call it a beach resort as there is no beach, but you can access the sea through a little cobbled path at the side of the resort. The views were lovely and sunbathing wise, I would recommend a spot right near the sea at the far end of the sun loungers as when the heat does become slightly unbearable you have a constant sea breeze to...We stayed at Akti in September 2009. There are two pools, a large one with a bar and area for food, and a smaller one with a small (and extremely over-priced) shop for the essentials you may need staying when staying in a self catering hotel.
There is also an additional bar and restuarant inside the hotel which is good, and also has a fab balcony to sit out and eat food. There are some pretty lovely views from here, especially if there is a thunder storm which we experienced on our first night!
SERVICE:
Service was as expected. In our room we experienced a very large amount of ants (specifically around the kitchen area). We complained to the front desk numerous times to which they sent maids to come and spray bug spray all around the room and basically said 'deal with it, theres not much we can do'. And we did 'deal with it' by buying our own bug spray and spraying around 4 times daily. The service wasn't lower than I expected as it was a cheap holiday and our only other option was to complain enough to be moved to a room on a different level (as we were on ground level) which we didnt really want to do.
LOCATION:
Now, this is something that if I had booked the holiday myself (I left my partner to it) I would of ensured we were...More
