Me and my partner stayed at Ascos August 2011 and had the time of our lives.
We arrived late, and had a bit of trouble at the welcome desk with being given the wrong room key, we were given a room key that already had people in, and just saw these four feet poking out the end of the bed. Having just arrived on holiday, we were in great moods and saw the funny side to this, after all anyone can make a mistake. We were quickly given a different key and the receptionist was very apologetic.

Our overall view of this holiday was AMAZING. weather was superb, hitting heights of 40 degrees, food was very good lots of choice and the entertainment was fantastic, Dimitri and Louise in particular. Lovely hotel for families and also for couples without children, would HIGHLY recommend, cant wait to return.

On my wife and I`s third visit to this hotel in November 2011,(obviously we had previously found it to be adequate for the price paid,)in the second week of four we heard a rumour, from fellow guests that the hotel was going to close at the end of our third week.I approached a senior member of the hotel staff and that was the start of a long and tortuous ten day period of evasion culminating in downright lies.Eventually on the day before the closure we were informed that we would be moved to another 4*hotel on the same terms,we had experienced this hotel and did not want to stay there again.I offered to pay the difference to move to another 4* of our choice, this was refused so we went where they wanted us to go,where we were allocated a back, sunless, viewless room, which we could pay extra to upgrade.Throughout all this period our so called rep.for the company we booked by,hotelsforu, com, was very evasive told me that the office in the U.K.was of the opinion that we shoud negotiate directly with the Ascos management, when I eventually contacted the U.K. myself they told me that they agreed with what the hotel proposed could do no more.On our return home from the worst managed so called holiday in 50 years I emailed both companys to ask for comments on the whole fiasco, nothing from the tsokkos hotel group but a rather curt reply from hotelsforu to say that they would look into the situation and then get back to me,10 weeks later still waiting.G,B. A very pleasant half term break, the hotel does everything well enough without being amazing.

Our room was on the top floor and above the bar/stage area so we did get some noise if we wanted to sleep earlyish, the patio doors are not soundproof. Our room was quite large with a double bed and a single bed even though there were just the two of us. The room is functional and clean but the furniture is a bit tired and the bathrooms need refreshing.

Pool and gardens were lovely, sunbeds always available and waiter service for drinks.

Lunch in the downstairs restaurant was very nice. I loved being able to throw some shorts and a t shirt on and walk over from the pool. The food was self service buffet and plentiful. The only niggle was that drinks were waiter service and by the time they appeared you'd usually finished eating, so I'd usually nip to the pool bar and get drinks myself.

Evening meal, can't really comment as we ate out apart from one night (we aren't fond of all inclusives generally and only book them if the price is not much more than SC or B&B)

Entertainment - seemed fine during the day and the evening stuff was ok. Lots of bingo, karaoke etc.

Location - beach was about 5-10 minute walk and is OK. Bars/restaurants are 3-5 minutes up a slight incline. Coral Bay itself is very quiet and smaller than I'd expected. There are enough different places to eat in for a week but that's about it.

I look forward to my stays at the Ascos Beach, and in March it will be my6th visit. Staff and hotel management friendly & good at their jobs. The hotel in the bedrooms is definately in need of a make over and hopefully if they do decide to close once again! early inNovember i hope taht they do it with a bit more consideration for the people who book for the same dates
year after year. But to be told that you must leave before your agreed contract , and move to
another hotel(in my case for 2 nights) which may have looked nice, but lacked any of the atmosphere of the Ascos Beach. This decision was not made by the Ascos Hotel
management but by someone sat in an office miles away, who clearly needs taking to task over this very bad decision. The reason may have been good but the result was disgusting. Taking nothing away from the hotel, a well deserved 4* hotel it is an excellent hotel with the staff at the top of the list.

Room Tip: Overlooking the Pool on any of the 3 sides. If you dont like a bit of noise then the outside rooms m...

This hotel is well located and benefits from some great views.

It is only a short walk in to town and a regular bus service runs to Paphos so it is very easy and cheap to get about.

The room itself was rather tired and had little bits of damage throughout, which were repaired very quickly when we reported them. This hotel would benefit from redecoration and updating throughout, however this did not detract from the enjoyment of our holiday. The amenities at the hotel were quite good and they work very hard to keep people entertained. We had no trouble finding a sunbed every day as plenty are supplied to avoid the usual towel reserving process we all know and love!

The service levels at this hotel were rather confusing as in part we found the staff quite rude and inattentive, however if you got the right person at the right time the service was good.

Unfortunately the food at the hotel was not great and the choice was limited in the evenings, although the dining room for the evening meals was extremely well presented and overlooks the sea. Please be aware that there is a dress code for evening meals.

This hotel does not appear to know what it is and gets caught between upmarket and greasy spoon dependant on the time of day!

All in all not bad but no more than nice!

My wife and myself had a 2 week all inclusive holiday there in November 2011 and what superb time we had, the staff were extremely helpful and eager to make your stay a very good one, the food was excellent and location very good. We used the buses to go to Paphos ( 2 Euros for any amount of trips in 24 hours) .Rooms are a bit dated but still very comfortable and clean. There was a dress code for the evening meal which was most appreciated. All in all an excellent holiday and would not hesitate to go back there again.

Room Tip: Don`t bother paying for a pool view not worth it, we had room 112 and was great both location and vi...
