One of the nicer all inclusive hotel I've stayed at.

Good selection of food and decent rooms would love to come back here and stay. Very nice and friendly staff. Nice neough location far enough away from he night life but not too far away if you fancy some action!

We stayed in the Ascots Coral Beach Hotel this year but we were not so satisfied. We liked Cyprus and this hotel and we have never complained, but this time we decided to write our impressions. First of all we start whit the reception is very important face for every hotel .We met one girl we haven’t met before (we coming this hotel 5 times). She wasn’t very pleasant to us. She didn’t explain us anything about the hotel (facilities rules etc). She never smiled to us and she wasn’t friendly at all. What happened to the smiling, helping and friendly girl Oksana ??? Wheres is Georgia ??? We have the room as usual but unfortunately the room was very dirty (floor was not washed well , dust everywhere , curtains and blankets with that really bad smell in the bathroom mould). Now about the food I have to say that from the time being in this hotel never has changed (menu). Aircon didn't work in our room. We enquired at reception that girl “Denitsa is her name”she wasn’t and the reception every time we needed her to help as we need to wait her because she siting inside, however no one customer no one staff they don’t like her and were told it was controlled centrally and had probably been turned off due to time of year. As such the room was really too warm most of the time.Unfortunately this Denitsa not even sent us technician. As many others have commented, this hotel has 4* in its logo but most only rate it as 2* which is probably correct.Thomas Coor rep was excellent. The entertainment was very very poor it took about an hour to play one game of bingo most night the entertainer just put music on. We have a many hope and expect that managers will do something about it and also best to change the disrespectful and not good behavior girl on reception. Thanks to the rest of STAFF for good service.

This was a late week's chill-out for a friend and I, and like many others we were concerned by the ghastly reviews. We paid less than £500 each for a week all inclusive and possibly had low expectations. However, whilst the room decor was tired and dated our room was spacious, well furnished, clean and comfortable. The pool area is lovely, huge and surrounded by well maintained gardens (the water is freezing, it's true). The food was fresh and plentiful, particularly for breakfast and lunch, and there are several great tavernas and restaurants in easy walking distance for a change. Staff, without exception, were friendly, competent and helpful. The hotel was quiet, which suited us, with a mix of English and Russian guests who all seemed relaxed and comfortable. OK, so the Ascos isn't the Four Seasons and it does need work but for what we paid, it was perfectly acceptable.

Room Tip: First floor, overlooking the pool with a sea view worked for us.

I think Thomas Cook need to look into this hotel, needs to be 3* not 4* and thats pushing it!! The positives were friendly staff, except on reception who just shrugged off complaints! Food was bearable for a week, entertainment was appalling except for Bob , one more Bob!! The entertainments guy seemed more interested in the russian girls. Pool was like jumping into an ice bucket and the rooms were disgusting especially the bathroom. Definately will not be going back!!

Just returned from a week at the Ascos, dreading arriving due to the reviews we read before leaving. Unfortunately, some of our concerns were realised. This hotel has been over rated by Thomas Cook, it is a 3* playing at being 4*. Rooms tired, bathroom disgusting (beware the ants), food bland (although husband who is Coeliac was able to eat ok but there is only so much roast potatoes, dry chicken, salad & fruit you can stomach in a week) and corridor carpets have seen better days. Health & safety - fire doors propped open & an exposed wire in the pool area. Pool - so cold expected to see icebergs. Air con - turned off with no exception on 31st Oct despite daytime temps 27degsC!!! Entertainment - hmmm ok at the beginning of the week if you are into Russian karaoke (& hotel not concerned about the decibels) but when the Brits felt like we wanted to party towards the end of the week, they decided it was all too loud! Highlight of the week, Bob Clarkson sings the Decades - 'One more Bob'!
We pointed out the issues we had with the room to the Thomas Cook rep who defended their rating as a 4* as being down to the facilities offered. Ok so in my view:- 1) Room & bathroom are facilities and so should be considered when agreeing rating and 2) A rating system is used to help customers compare with other hotels in the brochure - rep was quite used to trotting out the excuses. That said, we were moved to another room, slightly better than the first but still had the wildlife.
Outside areas & availability of sun beds good and there were mixed experiences of the staff, some clearly do not enjoy working there & couldn't wait for the season to end (cleaners not the most efficient judging by hairs everywhere) others were making the best of their situation (Alexei & Dusan at the bar).
Ascos needs money spent on it to make what is a really well located hotel meet its aspirations to be a good 4* hotel - Thomas Cook need to represent the hotels current offering more realistically. Will we go back to Cyprus for a 3rd time? Probably but it won't be to the Ascos.

Just got back from Ascos and like many other travellers before me, I was dreading going after reading the recent reviews. Good points are the staff are friendly but this is far outweighed by the negative points. The pool was absolutely freezing, the food was bland although the choice of evening meal was good. We had our one good evening meal on the day we left, it's a pity the other 6 days didn't match the same standard. The room was acceptable although, paint was peeling off the walls and in truth it was tired to say the least although it was cleaned daily, it's a pity the communal areas i.e. carpets weren't cleaned as frequently. We've stayed at many 4 star hotels around the world and believe me, this isn't one of them. This would pass as an acceptable 3 star hotel but is not up to the 4 star price we paid. Cyprus is a nice country and we'll definitely go back but won't be staying at the Ascos I'm afraid. If you want a 4 star hotel with 4 star treatment then this hotel isn't for you.

We have been to the Ascos twice a year for several years before going this October we read some of the reviews on tripadvisor and wondered what had happened to the Hotel however when we arrived we found everything was the same as always Staff and management as friendly as ever the food to the same good standard. Thank you Ascos for another wonderful holiday.
