“Excellent holiday”

We have just got back from the ascos beach an all I can say is don't believe all you read !!! I had read all the bad reports about the food ect and was spectacle to say least ! How wrong you can be to worry :) we arrived to find the hotel extremely warm and welcoming the room yes are dated but are cleaned to the best standard and our maid even left us swans made from towels ect on our beds which were just lovely.the pool area is beautiful and you don't even have to get off your sun bed to get a drink as the bar staff are very attentive and are round every few minutes to see if you want anything excellent service . The food was varied and very nice with a wide range of salads and always chicken ,pork, fish or beef on the various themed nights so really anyone who couldn't find something they liked must be very fussy eaters ! . Also if you didn't want to have a meal at one of the times then snacks of burger ,sandwiches pizza chips ect were available 10 while 12 and 3 while 6 in the resteraunt next to the pool bar which were also nice , unlimited ice cream cones was a very welcome extra in the heat too . The hotel also provided and excellent entertainment program during the day Mohammad and Zina work hard to make sure you have an excellent time with stretching ,French bowels water aerobics ,killer darts ect some of which for the first time ever my husband an I joined in with (as we normally just watch ) they really are a credit to the hotel :) on an evening they entertain you with bingo and music before introducing professional shows for you or having quizzes and karaoke . All in all the staff are very pleasant and nothing is too much trouble we also met some lovely people which made our holiday extra special.the strip of coral bay is just around the corner too with lots of bars shops ect would defiantly return here

I am leaving this review on behalf of my Mother in Law and her Husband. (Aged 62 and 65)

A warm and friendly welcome awaits you at the Ascos Coral Beach.

Everyone from oskana at the reception desk, bar, restauraunt staff and management strvie to make you feel welcome, everyone is so attentive towards you.

The Pool area and gardens are wonderful with plenty of space, the setting is quite stunning.

The food is of a good quality, is varied and well presented. The Atlina restauraunt is quote spectacular with stunning uniterrupted views of the pool area and surrounding ountryside. This restauraunt is definately 5*.

The animation team led by Zina are excellent and the entertainment in the evenings was varied and a good standard.

This is our 7th Visit to this hotel and we are always overwhelmed by the welcome we receive.

Have returned from a week at the Ascos. Could not fault it, good variety of food, excellent service, pool area spotless, bar staff very attentive, entertainment ranged from stretching exercises, Zumba, French boules, darts to bingo and themed nights, something for everyone. This was our first holiday to Cyprus and we definitely hope to return to the Ascos.

After reading reviews i was worried about staying here, it waz our 1st time in cyprus.when we arrived our 1st impression was really nice but when we got to the room we wasnt as impressed as we was told we would have bunk beds for our 2 kids, and they was put me up beds!!! Food was a bit repetative but second week it picked up..1st week there was about 60/80 guests as it just opened wedk before but 2nd week was about 200.. Entertainment on a night was good .through day was good aswell considering it was same few doing them. Zina and mohammed was the great entertainers! Hello you 2 from amanda mick.caleb.casey. :) they made us feel very welcome and worked hard trying to keep us happy.I certainly would not star it 4+ i would say a 3....i would definately return there.if you are thinking of going just expect a basic room.although u get shower gels n shampoos n soaps....also regular fresh towels andbed changed every 3 days. In my opinion this is a very honest review.

We have just come back (yesterday) from a weeks stay at Ascos Coral Beach Hotel booked through Thomas Cook.
It was a very enjoyable holiday, beautiful hotel and grounds very luxurious and extremely clean and well staffed.
Unfortunately when we booked we were not told that the hotel restaurant and breakfast/lunch room have a dress code! My husband wear trousers, shirt and tie all week so when he's holidaying the last thing he wants to do is dress formal so doesn't even take formal clothing with him.
This did not go unnoticed by duty manager Stelios who looked my hubby up n down every evening with a look of disgust!
Although he was wearing jeans and smart polo tshirts (like 50% of the other guests).
The reception was well manned and there was always someone there to help.
We were on the 2nd floor in room 274 and we had a side and pool view. The room was a very large well equipped size, with a kettle and also a fridge.
We had a view on both sides being a corner room so could see the sea and pool as well as more of the bay houses.
The maids did a great job everyday mopped the floors, made the beds, changed towels if needed etc.
Food was very fresh and plentiful. There were different selections every meal time and it never became repetitive.
The waiter/waitresses were very hot to remove empty plates, sometimes when not empty!
Do not put your knifes and forks down or they'll whip you're dinner away! This too goes for glasses of drink, sometimes so annoying as you are still actually eating.
If you were sat at a table in the bar area, pool area or even the communal reception areas the staff still came and served you drinks which was nice.
Language was sometimes an issue, I asked for a cup of tea and the waitress kept saying she didn't understand?!!
The man who mans reception at night (the big bloke) is a very nice man, nice to chat to and very helpful.
The Thomas Cook rep started as Phillipa but changed to Ruth? When I went down 1 morning to find her between 10-11 it said, I was told she had already left? Bit annoying!
We didn't use the hotel entertainment we don't like sitting with screaming kids running around carrying trays and smashing glasses!
Although the young man who gets people to play darts etc and the fitness lady were both very cheerful and pleasant.
The hotel was always immaculately clean.
We hired a car from the hire place just up from the hotel €100 for the week, bargain! We visited various places around the island, we drive 490 miles! If you get a chance to visit Nicosia then go! The Turkish border part is fab, some real bargains and bartering to be had!
Kato Pafos (Lower Paphos) harbour is lovely, our favourite place to visit in the evening for a stroll and a drink with free wifi.
The hotel should provide free wifi in the communal areas in this day and age, I refused to pay their extortionate prices!!!
All in all we loved it and would return for sure

We have been staying at this hotel since 2005, and to us it is like staying with family. The staff are always pleased to see us and are all polite and friendly. Last year we were unable to get a booking for our usual dates and sadly had to go elsewhere. However, we did visit the hotel on a couple of occasions and had lunch there. As usual, we were welcomed by all the staff. Yes, there are some areas of the hotel that could do with upgrading, but the rooms are all clean and the food is pretty good. We like the atmosphere of the hotel and arriving there feels like home. We understand the entertainment had gone downhill but the management are working on improving that. We find all the staff polite and helpful and as previous reviewers have said, if you speak to the staff and treat them with respect they will do likewise. Looking forward to seeing you all in November

Just returned from a week in the Ascos Coral Beach Hotel, Cyprus. The service was amazing...never had to move to get a drink, whether round the pool, in the restaurant or bar, as the staff couldn't do enough for you. Couldn't fault them! Hats off the the animation team...Mohammed and Zina! They were fantastic, especially with our 2 children. The entertainment in the evening and around the pool was spot on, and they were brilliant at getting to know the kids and involving them in everything. They even let them do a little show on their last evening! The food was good - we all preferred the selection at lunchtime, as it was much more varied and the children ate a lot more. The evening meal would be even better if there was always a lighter selection available, eg pizza and pasta. Although there was always a pasta option, it was sometimes tricky to please the kids in the evening as it was mainly meat/fish with potatoes or rice. The rooms are a little tired and could do with a little updating in places, but they were very clean and there was a daily maid service. The pool area was lovely, and Zina did a great job leading yoga/pilates, aqua aerobics and Zumba sessions to help burn off some of the calories from all the food and cocktails! We didn't want to leave, and would be happy to return. A super holiday in a lovely hotel. Thankyou!
