“Great hotel, lovely wedding venue”
Reviewed 19 June 2011

Just got back from a week at the Avanti Village, as in previous reviews, the place was really great. Apartments basic but clean, aircon a real plus, and the staff were just lovely. Nothing too much trouble, an army of cleaners means the grounds and pool are immaculate every day. We had a great view over a corn field which was peaceful and restful. Plenty of places to eat around, and the village and hotel food was pretty good too. Attended a wedding in the hotel which was really tastefully done in a beautiful location. Only complaint was the amount of people reserving sunbeds with towels first thing (all Brits, can't blame the germans here...) which meant when we got back in the afternoon after exploring, the pool was empty but few beds available!
Would recommend the breakfast option, huge buffet including cooked breakfast, fruit, pastries, cereal etc etc

Room Tip: ask for a field view

The Avanti Village is the best holiday we have ever had. We decided to spend our honeymoon at the Avanti Village having read good reviews. We travelled with our family and friends who came for our wedding and all stayed at the Avanti Village or Hotel and all were impressed.

The apartments are very spacious, very well equiped and the maid service is fantastic. An especially nice touch was for our wedding night the maid changed our bed to white silk sheets and put swans made from towels on the bed with rose petals, on the table in the kitchen was a vase of flowers and a fruit bowl.

The villiage has a very nice family atmosphere, for the children there is a lazy river and lagoon pool plus an indoor pool. Our two year old son who isn't confident in water loved the lazy river and the slop into the lagoon pool was shallow enough for him to paddle without totally going into it.

From the management to the reception staff they are first class, very polite, friendly and willing to help. The porter took our bags to our apartment as soon as we arrived which we thought was an excellent service. In the village complex are a few restaurants which are very nice and proved to be very popular.

Equally as excellent is the Avanti Hotel, we were half board and enjoyed breakfast and our evening meal in the hotel. The breakfast was particulary enjoyable as we could sit on the terrace outside and enjoy the sunshine whilst eating, the standard of the food for both breakfast and evening meal was very high.

Overall, the Avanti is an excellent choice and we highly recommend it, you won't be disappointed!

Have returned from a great holiday at the avanti village and can't wait to go back.
The apartment,s although quite basic are spotless and spacious for a family of 5 as we were, I did find the beds a bit firm.
Good to have English channels on the TV.
The grounds are well maintained - plenty of sunbeds at all times of the day - surprisingly peaceful and calming, the kids love the lazy river.

We booked B/B and upgraded locally for a flexi dine - better value than paying before you go and you choose which nights to go. Dinner at the hotel ( which is 2 mins walk away) was great - the emphasis was more on quality than quantity , we loved the traditional night. Breakfast was served outside by the pool, quite basic but more than enough to keep you going - great pastries.
I celebrated my birthday there and the cake they made was gorgeous all washed down with nice bottle of wine !
Other food and drink was fine and very reasonably priced.

Location was great for us - a short walk through the village to the beach and promenade - turn right for the harbour or left for luna park ( a small amusement park the little kids love)
We caught a bus to coral bay but thought this was a waste as the beaches on your doorstep are much nicer.
The waterpark is a must for the kids and adults.
Local bars and restaurants are good value - we loved fiesta bar as lovely terrace for kids and great mojitos!

All staff were friendly and welcoming. The kids loved the disco, however adult entertainment is quite limited and low key but we still had fun.
To summarise, a great hotel and village, great facilities in a beautiful part of cyprus, just don't expect to be dancing til the wee hours - we will be back

I have just returned from a stay at the Avanti village.I was very impressed the village was beauitful its got some amazing gardens and large pools and the actual rooms in the village are great. The apartments are large with seperate bedrooms and kitchen they are very clean and comfortable and all situated in the gardens. They are very well maintained and exceptionally clean! We also went accross to the Avanti hotle for some meals and the food was excellent! A wide range to choose from and you can help yourself as its buffet style,The village is wonderful if you have children as there is lots of space and huge pools for them to play in.The village is in a very central location just a short walk from the harbour and it has a small selection of shops and restaurants just a few minuites walk away,I loved it here and i will return with my family without a doubt!! It really is wonderful.

Room Tip: all rooms are great all sleep up to five

There are many positives about Avanti Village but a combination of spotlessly clean, spacious apartments and highly conscientious staff keen to make everyone's stay a good one, means this is a rare find. We stayed with our 12 year old son, his older sister and friend. They felt very much at home and secure in the hotels attractive surroundings. We were located close to the pool and restaurant area but still enjoyed peace and tranquility round the clock. Breakfast was varied and tasty but we chose to eat out in the hotels own restaurant/bar 'plaza' on a couple occasions. It's Italian restaurant offers delicious authentic pizza and pasta dishes and is well worth a visit.

Evening entertainment is just getting going in the 'village' but it's adjacent sister hotel, the Avanti Hotel, offers a nightly programme. Of course the resort of Paphos has plenty of distractions and is easily reached on foot, by taxi or local bus.

The Avanti Village is great for families and anyone wanting plenty of space in their accommodation. But they have also made sure those with less mobility can enjoy the resort and have 10 wheelchair adapted apartments. I checked them out (I have a personal interest) and being spacious there is plenty of room to manouevre and the bathrooms are massive too. There are baths with bath seats but not wheel-in showers although these are being considered I understand. That would make them even more accessible.

Just a super place to stay.

My wife and I and our two girls aged 12 & 9 stayed at the Avanti Village on a self catering basis and found the accommodation very good value for money. The staff were very friendly and when we had a small complaint this was sorted out immediately with one of the hotel directors, Geogios Palas taking it upon himself to have the issue put right for us within an hour.

We had a ground floor apartment but really a first floor would have been better as you would have had more privacy on a balcony rather than the terrace and it would be quieter as no-one moving around above you!

The apartments themselves are very roomy albeit a little on the basic side and are cleaned daily. All the communal areas are very clean and well maintained.
The pool area is nice and relaxing and there are normally plenty of sunbeds albeit there is the usual "towels down" by 8 am if you want a sun umbrella.
Paphos itself is the usual mix of tourist shops and restaurants and I would recommend the Classic restaurant which is just outside the Avanti Hotel (not the Village) on your right as you leave the car park but is upstairs so you need to look up. The food here was excellent and much cheaper than the surrounding places with kids meals for E2.50 and set menus for E9.00 including a glass of wine and the staff were very friendly. Another nice restaurant is the Rimini but this is a little more expensive.

Be aware there is NO beach of any real kind in Paphos itself so you are likely to be around the pool a lot unless you a hire a car or use the excellent buses which are only E2.00 per adult for all day hop on/hop off travel and kids are free.

Overall the Avanti Village was a good base for a holiday and if returning to Paphos we would stay again. That said we would probably try further round the island where there are sandy beaches should we holiday in Cyprus again.

Room Tip: Go for block A or B to be near pool
