We were really happy with the facilities at Avanti Village. The pool area is excellent and the apartments are very clean and well equipped. All the staff were friendly and made the check in easy and quick.
The only downside was that an electronic shaver disappeared from our room and some loose change was taken. The hotel manager said that it was possible that the shaver had been taken with the laundry when the bedding was changed, he did not give a reason for the missing money. We were given the choice of calling the police or accepting a late check-out as compensation. It may be that the maid thought the change was a tip as it was left near the front door, but we were only half way through the holiday and it's customary to tip when you are checking out.
Outside the hotel complex there is very little to do, just a couple of very small beaches and a few English pubs with almost no Greek character in the area. We found the Fiesta bar, just outside the complex, was the best in the area for food and ate there most nights. The local bus service is very good and you can catch it to the airport for only 1.50 Euros (25 Euros in a taxi).
Be warned that Paphos old town is closed on a Saturday night, including all the bars and restaurants.
I would recommend the Avanti Village, especially to young families but watch out for your belongings.

Room Tip: We had an upper floor room as there are a lot of ants about and these seem to end up in the lower ro...

Just sat around the pool typing this. A terrific venue, very clean and well maintained. A terrific location with all the facilities we need as a family of 5. Loads of transport links, great local bus service very helpful staff. However, my only negative is the amount of staff, it seems most are spread too thinly, tables often left stacked with dirty plates at breakfast and pool bar service is slow and haphazard at both bar and food outlet. We were staying in the adjacent Avanti Hotel but used the facilities at both with friends here for a wedding, a good venue to choose if not a little under staffed.

Just returned from a 10 day s/c stay at the Avanti. It was our first self catering holiday and will definitely do this again! The apartments were spacious and cleaned every other day. We were given a room on the bottom floor and initially thought about asking to be moved to a higher room but actually turned out to be fine as the village seemed safe and secure. On arrival, the room did have an unusual smell but this soon went. Pool area is lovely, no fights for sunbeds. Were given a discount voucher to use at the restaurant on site, 'Little Eataly' which was good quality Italian food at a very reasonable price (€22 for two main meals, 2 drinks and a starter). The Rib Shack was also good as was the Pelican restaurant down at the harbour (even saw the pelican which they brought out to feed) the harbour is about a 20/25 min walk away but along the sea front it is a nice walk or bus takes you straight there for €1.50. We got a day ticket for the bus for €5 and went along to coral bay and tombs of the kings and back with this! Overall, amazing weather, lovely accommodation and found the Cypriot people to be very hospitable! Definitely worth a visit.

It's one year tomorrow since we got married in Paphos and stayed at Avanti Village and I've been meaning to do this since we landed back! We went as a family of 5 with children aged 14, 9 and 7. The complex is lovely, well-maintained and clean. The reception staff couldn't be more helpful and check-in was quick and easy. We chose an upstairs apartment which was near the pool and were welcomed with a bottle of bubbly. The pool and pool bar is fantastic - the kids had a great time and there were lots of optional activities: water polo, water aerobics, etc. We never struggled to get sun beds which is always a bonus! The kids club was a welcome cool-down for the kids, a lovely bright air-conditioned room with great staff and lots of activities.
Our wedding went without a hitch, suits were pressed and delivered to the room on the morning as were the flowers. We were greeted by our wedding rep who showed us to our car. We had a lovely intimate service at Paphos Town Hall (about 20 minute drive) followed by photos at the beach. We returned to Avanti Hotel (sister Hotel) to a reception they had arranged - we were greeted by the wonderful Liza (manager) who showed us to a decorated table with our cake, bubbly and a handmade gift. I have to say she treated us as if we were the first and only couple to ever get married there! The whole day was made really special by Liza and staff of both hotels.
I would definitely recommend a visit, we fully intend to return as soon as we can :)

We have just returned from a 10 night stay at the Avanti Village. We paid £850 for a family of 3 for flights and an apartment on a s/c basis so great value for money. Apartments are quite basic but very clean, cleaner came every 2nd day and fresh towels daily. We moved one of the sofas into the bedroom so our little one was in with us as we felt safer, but the whole complex felt very safe anyway. Request a 1st floor room as issues with ants - we had some tiny ants in the kitchen and bathroom but just had to be careful not to leave drinks/toothpaste etc out. The pool and sun beds are great and a very chilled out pool area! Don't choose this hotel if your looking for a lively, family complex with great entertainment and water slides etc as its quite quiet but an excellent base. Hotel is around 20 mins from the harbour but you can cut through and walk along the beach front which was nice and quicker than the road. We ate at the little Eaterly, ocean basket and Fiesta on the Avanti complex all were great! The pizzas at the Italian were fantastic and around £10 for a large (which was very large), a meal and drinks for 3 at Fiesta was around 35£ and we had 2 meals at Ocean Basket which was AMAZING! Each was around £40 which included a bottle of wine and beer.
There are lots of cats but we didn't experience any issues probably because we ignored them and didn't feed them - some people even left plates of food outside their apartments and let their children fuss them so of course they are going to be in the complex.
We went to Cyprus for a family wedding which was beautiful. All in all a great hotel which I would recommend however I wouldn't return to Paphos as the beaches were poor and little to do for families. Any questions please ask.

Stayed at the Avanti Village for a wedding and found it to be a nice pleasent and comforttable place to stay, on arrival the reception were very friendly and polite and made you feel welcome. The rooms were nice and big with a seperate bedroom and the bathroom was fairly modern. There is also a supermarket in the grounds which is really handy with all the essentials

The pool and the grounds were the nicest aspect of staying here. The pool is vast and has a swim up bar, water volley ball area and water fall and a seperate kids pool area.

I only ate around the pool twice and the found was a little bland and overpriced. The gym is none existant but you can use all of the Avanti Hotels facilities who's gym is a liitle better and there pool is also a very good size.

The Paphos harbour and bars are around 2.5k away and approx 7 euro in a taxi but there are a few bars and resteraunts within close proximity and walking distance from the apartments.

To summarise it is a pleasent place to stay ideal for families and a nice, clean base for a week or two of good weather.

we stayed at the Avanti village with our 4 year old boy for 11 nights at the beginning of june. this was our first self catering holiday and we were very pleased with our choice. the village is beautifully laid out with 4 apartments in each block. we were able to check in quickly and given a map to find our apartment. as it was 1.30am this was a little tricky but the village is well lit. even at this time there was still somewhere to eat within a few hundred yards. our apartment was very spacious and could easily have roomed a family of 5. beds were very comfy and we had a camp bed in our room for our little boy. we had to pay to use the safe box, whereas most places just ask for a deposit. the kitchen was limited with the utensils but I didn't go there intending to cook a 3 course meal! no plug in the kitchen sink, but having read other reviews knew that an egg cup did the trick! very clean, and fresh towels and bedding regularly. pool towels provided. able to keep room longer on departure day for a fee but only find out that morn if its available. the pool was fantastic!! plenty of sunloungers at this time of year but i'm sure it is a very popular place during the summer hols. wifi was good in reception and depending where you sat at the pool could be picked up there too. there are a lot of great pubs and restaurants within a 10 min walk (Riminis and the rib shack in particular) and the harbour is a half hour walk or 10 min bus trip where there are a lot of shops and restaurants. buses were great. very frequent and cheap. paphos market a bit of a let down. all very much the same things for sale. we had one morning at the beach, only small and a 15min walk. but because the pool was so good we didn't miss the sea really. the Jolly Roger boat trip is a must if you have children! great entertainment and food. we had the flexi breakfast (3 mornings) which was lovely. good choice of food and tasted great. lots of cats and gorgeous kittens around but we loved that! our only downside of our whole holiday was the buffet evening at Avanti hotel. we went for the Chinese night. absolutely horrendous!! no flavour to the food at all. tasted like super noodles with no flavouring. not sure what the other nights were like as this put us off trying!! apart from that....fantastic holiday. if you've already booked, relax and enjoy cos you've made a great choice!

Room Tip: we were in block A on the first floor. this was close to the pool. personally if you have small chil...
