Just got back from 2 weeks at Avanti Village....
good points...nice big pool, big rooms with free aircon, free wifi in lobby and around pool (eventually...took 3 days to get on !) decent bar staff but generally they didn't seem happy in their work, great breakfast choice, good position near tavernas/restaurants and fairly near to harbour (6 euros in taxi for 4 people), great chinese local to apartment...can't remember name but next to frenchy restaurant up stairs !....did and enjoyed wateraerobics with fella who has forgot how to enjoy himself and looks like he wants to hit someone ...lol !
not good.....pool area CROWDED and yes towels on sunbeds from 7.30 onwards to get decent position...oh and people not on the towels on the sunbeds....where are they !!!...by 3pm everyday pool like "human soup"...water was warm balls, lilos, rings, noisy teenagers who though it cool chucking balls around out of control...we made breakfast 9.15ish most mornings....packed...had to wait and scramble for table...which usually hadn't been cleared, wiped or reset...queueing for food !.....entertainment....very poor on a small raised stage on too small a terrace....didn't bother with it....
Overall enjoyed holiday ....main complaint....too busy around pool/busy breakfast/poor entertainment....
Just a note of caution about Paphos medical 24 centre on main road near square...called in for ear infection for my lad...told 60 euros for consultation...ok...got drops and anti inflammatories...but they really wanted our travel insurance document which they copy with glee...told to go back in 2 days time which we did...checked his ears gave him some more tabs ??? ...only in medical centre 3 minutes ...asked what we owed and told don't worry they would "...say you have visited 3 times and push cost up to our excess of £150.00 and they would sort everything out with insurance..." ....what !!!!??? I thought i had to pay up to the excess and if over that claim off insurance. I queried cost for a basic ear infection and offered to pay cash £80-£100 to avoid involving insurance but they aren't interest....."just tell your insurance company you've paid us £150.00 and you want have to pay anything..." ....okkkaaay....give me a receipt for that ...no chance refused any receipts/copy of my lads medical records....insurance rip off and can see me paying the insurance £150.00 when i get home...maybe just me but it's a scam....should i lie to my travel insurance ....don't think so...didn't like me querying their methods infront of other people so told me to go away and don't pay anything....so i did..... !!!
