Just got back from 2 weeks at Avanti Village....

good points...nice big pool, big rooms with free aircon, free wifi in lobby and around pool (eventually...took 3 days to get on !) decent bar staff but generally they didn't seem happy in their work, great breakfast choice, good position near tavernas/restaurants and fairly near to harbour (6 euros in taxi for 4 people), great chinese local to apartment...can't remember name but next to frenchy restaurant up stairs !....did and enjoyed wateraerobics with fella who has forgot how to enjoy himself and looks like he wants to hit someone ...lol !

not good.....pool area CROWDED and yes towels on sunbeds from 7.30 onwards to get decent position...oh and people not on the towels on the sunbeds....where are they !!!...by 3pm everyday pool like "human soup"...water was warm balls, lilos, rings, noisy teenagers who though it cool chucking balls around out of control...we made breakfast 9.15ish most mornings....packed...had to wait and scramble for table...which usually hadn't been cleared, wiped or reset...queueing for food !.....entertainment....very poor on a small raised stage on too small a terrace....didn't bother with it....

Overall enjoyed holiday ....main complaint....too busy around pool/busy breakfast/poor entertainment....

Just a note of caution about Paphos medical 24 centre on main road near square...called in for ear infection for my lad...told 60 euros for consultation...ok...got drops and anti inflammatories...but they really wanted our travel insurance document which they copy with glee...told to go back in 2 days time which we did...checked his ears gave him some more tabs ??? ...only in medical centre 3 minutes ...asked what we owed and told don't worry they would "...say you have visited 3 times and push cost up to our excess of £150.00 and they would sort everything out with insurance..." ....what !!!!??? I thought i had to pay up to the excess and if over that claim off insurance. I queried cost for a basic ear infection and offered to pay cash £80-£100 to avoid involving insurance but they aren't interest....."just tell your insurance company you've paid us £150.00 and you want have to pay anything..." ....okkkaaay....give me a receipt for that ...no chance refused any receipts/copy of my lads medical records....insurance rip off and can see me paying the insurance £150.00 when i get home...maybe just me but it's a scam....should i lie to my travel insurance ....don't think so...didn't like me querying their methods infront of other people so told me to go away and don't pay anything....so i did..... !!!

Could not fault Avanti Village whatsoever. Apartment spacious, maid 6 days out of 7-very friendly. Pool area great, there was a bit of towels left on the beds all day but whatever time we got to pool we always managed to get four beds and some kind of shade. Pool excellent. Water aerobics at 11.00am with AJ great! Staff very helpful and friendly. Would definitely go back and recommend to everyone.

We had read the reviews on here and were expecting a fantastic place but it was even better than expected. The pools are spacious and a great depth if you have children, with plenty of sunbeds available. We had an apartment near the pool and on the first floor so had a nice view. It was clean and a good size with good facilities for self catering. We did book breakfast also which had a nice selection to cater for most tastes although it finished at 10am which meant that a couple of days we were rushing to get there and one day had to miss it because of two sleepy boys still! The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful from our daily morning chats with our housekeeping lady on our way out to seeking some information on a beach to go to from reception staff which turned out to be a fantastic recommendation. The villages own Piazza with a good selection of restaurants and bars is a wonderful place to eat lunch or dinner if you don't want to go into Paphos Harbour and then we liked to wander down to the beach front and have a drink in a little bar overlooking the sea in front of the Louis hotel. Perfect!

Room Tip: Contact the hotel direct and request an apartment near the pool on the first floor.

We came to the Avanti Village on recommendation but have been very disappointed with the hotel so far. Half way through our holiday and felt compelled to write this before returning home. Our main disappointment is the attitude of the staff here. Apart from the cleaners, staff seem miserable and stressed and every time we have asked for anything from cutlery at breakfast (which we should have had on the table anyway) from help at reception, we have been greeted with a nonchalant 'suppose so' or 'can't be bothered' attitude. Usually the waiters make our holiday as in other places we have stayed in the past they are great with the kids and almost fall over themselves to help to make the holiday memorable.

Breakfast is served between 7 and 10, however don't arrive after 9 because it turns into a free for all with huge queues for food and no free tables to sit at. We made this mistake the first two days then decided to bite the bullet and get up early just so we could beat the rush and enjoy a more leisurely breakfast. We combined bagging sunbeds with towels with breakfast at 7.30am!!!! Too early by far when holidays are supposed to be about relaxation.

All that aside, the rooms are spacious and air conditioned and kept reasonably clean. We were fortunate to have a view, however most don't and look out onto the walls of another apartment.

We found some good restaurants in Paphos as the hotel food not great. Porto Bello Italian fab but a little pricy, Viva Cyprus, Sunbow, Rib Shack and Hobo Cafe on the harbour...all good.

Sorry this review sounds so negative but just saying it as it is. Hired a car for 4 days which has been great to get out and about, away from the hustle and bustle.

We booked a family room at the Avanti Hotel on a B&B basis. On arrival we found the room was not to our liking and they quickly offered a room in one of the apartments in their sister Avanti Village next door. This was much better and very spacious. The Pool here was also nicer as it was no deeper than 1m or so. The kids loved it, The daily pool activities were very good and we all joined in for some active fun in between the time on sun beds :). We did not go for Half Board as wanted to try out some local restaurants in Paphos, but the head chef was great as he prepared some lovely Veg curries for us on the nights we stayed in to eat. The rooms were cleaned on most days and fresh daily pool/bath towels provided. The complex is quite big and i booked a Pool view room allowing us easy access. We also hired a car and would suggest you shop around for the best deal, the in-house rates are a bit higher. The breakfast was good, daily fresh fruits provided and the usual cereals, toast & English breakfast. The variety for Veggies in the breakfast was ok but could have had more :(.

Room Tip: It's worth going the little extra for the Pool View and 1st Floor

We had 11 nights in July 2014 at Avanti Village, it was a fantastic summer holiday in wonderful Paphos! The rooms were clean, staff very helpful - couldn't have been any better with the lovely Cyprus sun above.

Room Tip: For a quieter room ask for about half way from the pool area.
