Extremely convenient for families with children. We found there everything my family needed. Large appartments, kitchen facilities, modern decoration, light colours... So near to the sea for morning walks, footsall and play grounds... This is the reason we go back again and again... Rich breakfast, clean areas..

Some disadvantages are: Do not expect a luxurious 5 star stay, this is a very good hotel for lively families. The water in the indoor pool was rather cold. The beach is rocky but that' s the beauty of it. Anyway, we always visit the hotel in winter.

Room tip: sea view - avoid basement, just overlooking the ...wall!

As I was on business I was bugged a bit by the fact that the safe was locked and unusable and the internet access was very difficult and didnt work. Otherwise this hotel was excellent. Great suite and just by the beach. Couldnt fault anything in the room, the breakfast and the location. the beach is a rocky one, so no sand here. Yet the views and experience was great. Free parking and easy to find. Next door to the Tombs of the Kings.

You do need a car if you stay here. Its not ver convenient to walk out. there is a bus service from very close to the hotel though.

My husband and I have just returned from Capital Coast. We had only booked a standard room with inland view so it was a nice surprise to be given a bedroom on the second floor overlooking the pool with a sea view. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. The food was very good. There was lots of choice and also they did different theme nights i.e English, German, Chinese. The only thing missing was the lack of entertainment. Once dinner was over there was only the bar to sit in. There was a singer on the Saturday night and the Friday night there was a pianist. The location of the Hotel was good.

Room tip: Second and Third floor rooms facing pool are best.

This is not a full review of the hotel. Though we did book a weekend there we were notified the day before that the hotel had been overbooked and we were to be sent off to another hotel of the same group. This ended up to be a good thing as we were hugely upgraded for free and offered a lot more in the end.

What we did use in this hotel were the spa facilities and the coffee shop. Both experiences were average to poor.

To begin with, the deal we got for their overbooking included a complementary minibus drive between the two hotels when we wanted to use the spa of the Capital Coast.

The actual spa was very different to any other spa facilities we have used in any hotel in any part of the world. The main difference was...NOISE! For some strange reason, children (as young as five) were allowed in the spa facilities making good use of the Jacuzzi, steam room and the sauna!!! The worst part must have been the Jacuzzi where children with floaties were...well floating and stepping on us whilst their parents were chatting away...the cherry on the top was when they shoved a good amount of shampoo in the Jacuzzi which resulted in a foam party (or a scene out of Peter Sellers "the party").

Other than that, the indoor pool was freezing, the lockers had no keys to lock, out of the three showers in the men's facilities only one had shampoo or soap...need I say more?

Anyhow, after finishing with our...ordeal, we decided to get a cup of coffee before heading back to the hotel where we were staying... The filtered coffee tasted like rust and when we mentioned that, the lady at the bar just said " I press the button and this is what comes out, it is not my fault"...

No need to say more than that. Fortunately the experience at the sister hotel (Amphora) was much much better and totally made up for this.

Room tip: Avoid the spa!

We have done a lot of travelling this year and stayed in a lot of hotels so we were just looking for somewhere to relax in comfort and that is what we got with this hotel. We had a ground floor executive suite facing the sea with a patio of our own with our own sun loungers so it was like a mini villa being able to just pop back indoors for a drink etc. It was very peaceful and we spent most of our time sitting on the patio relaxing, ideal. People have complained about the lack of entertainment but they don't actually advertise any and frankly if they had then I wouldn't have booked it. There were quite a few cats around but a well aimed handy hosepipe soon gave them the message that we didn't want them near us, unfortunately a lot of people feed them and fuss over them so they think that everyone is a source of food.
I agree that the breakfasts were probably better than the offerings at dinner though there was always quite a lot to choose from so there was usually something to like and to their credit everything was always kept well stocked not like in some hotels where you have to wait for something to be replenished.
The rooms were clean, pleasantly decorated, modern and with two flat screen tvs. The kitchen had everything you needed and having a washing machine meant your suitcase could be lighter.
I think the only thing that let the building down as a whole were the corridors to the ground floor rooms , poor lighting (though this did mean you didn't get the annoying lights shining in under the door) but it did put me in mind of school corridors , very plain and in need of some tlc.
We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful.
We had a car but noticed that the buses on the main road seemed to be very regular and Lidl over the road could supply most of your needs they even had their own bakery in there.
Would I return to this hotel - yes.
