“Capital Coast Resort & Spa”
Reviewed 10 June 2014

Recently visited the Capital Coast Resort & Spa in Paphos, and what a very a good stay it was. we stayed in the superior suite which i highly recomend. The room was huge, it had two full bathrooms each with there own shower toilet sink and mirror and the en-suite one had a bath also. The kitchen was perfect ideal for people who are self catering, all the utensils you could need. living room / dinning area where nice and big with its own air con unit. the bed room had fitted wardrobnes a dressing table and its own tv also. Each room has its own air con unit which in the summer months is essential. Only critacism for the room was the telly in our room was intermitent, it worked one minute and died the next.
The hotel location was OK a nice view over the pool and out to see one way but a hill and building work the other way.
There is currently road works going on the length of the road outsie the hotel which to be fair dont cause any noise (mainly becuase there was never anyone actually there working in it).
The outdoor pool area is excellent all very clean and lots of sun beds scattered around the pool and also facing out to the sea.
Tthe sea in this location has a rip tide and is very dangerous so i would advice anyone going to use the beach up at coral bay 1.50euro each way on the bus from rite outside the hotel. A guest at the next hotel to us actually died in th esea during our stay and according to locals its a weekly problem.
Hotel breakfast are very good with a great selection and would recomend the bed and breakfast option. The evening meals where pretty poor, we only had them once and that was one to many, there are so many lovely places to eat around Paphos and Paphos Harbor its criminal to just stay in the hotel and eat there cantein meals.
Gym is very small with a couple of machines and free weights which to be fair are in good condition and its well maintained, the only issue is the lack of aircon in there.
The hotel staff are very friendly on the whole, the resturant staff have your plates away the second the last mouthful is in which can become quite frustraiting.

Overall i would 100% recomend The Capital Coast Hotel to anyone thinking of going there, i would also book th esuperior suite again, for the extra money its worth it compared to staying in the attick studio (which was escribed to me as Manwel's broom cupboard).

Room Tip: Superior Suite

I would not give this hotel more than 3 stars. Overall it's nice and clean. The suit was nicely furnished with everything necessary provided. Daily maid service. Stunning sea views!
Nice and cheap cocktails by the pool with friendly bar staff. There are supermarkets around and some restaurants. Don't expect any real Greek food though. Not in this touristy area.

However there were a few issues which would change my mind about coming here should I have known about them prior.

1. The beach is extremely dangerous and is not suitable for swimming. There are strong currents in the water and you can be swept away in no time. In fact, a woman drowned here during our stay. If you google 'Venus beach in Paphos', you will see a lot of discussions and articles about how deadly this beach is. So please - you can use fantastic pools in the hotel, but no beach.

2. Rubbish breakfast. I really could not eat rubber like fried eggs and defrosted sour fruit salad. We were hoping that our family (including our 1 year old son) could enjoy our daily breakfast (included in the price) and I ended up cooking breakfast in the room every day.

3. Very, I will stress it - very noisy rooms. We stayed in an executive suite with another suite above us and we couldn't get a break from constant noise coming from them moving chairs, walking etc. That really ruined out holiday quite a bit.

4. This is the worst part of all - absolutely horrible management. After several days complaining about the noise and not getting any response apart from them sending a security guard to our suite in the middle of the night to see what the noise was and if we were making it up, we ended up having a conversation with the management. They said that we should just accept that there is noise and that they can't put us in another room, nor can they compensate us for this bad experience. They also lied to us saying that the room was getting vacated on that day but in fact people still lived there and the noise kept bothering us.

I'm usually not a whiner but this experience ruined our long awaited family holiday. I feel that the management should deal with issues better and that they should provide people with better service. Better breakfast, daily towel and bedsheets change as opposed to a 'once in three days' etc.

Will not be back here as there are far better hotels to stay in. And definitely not recommending.

We stayed here for the 26th May to the 4th June, the hotel is lovely and the spa is beautiful. There were ample sun loungers around the pool and on the front facing the sea. I thought the breakfast was good and a large selection of choices. Our room was facing the building site but we just lived with this for the week and there wasn't any noise and didn't disturb us. The hotel is a little out of the centre of Paphos, but a regular bus service runs outside the hotel with a stop more or less directly outside the hotel, every 15 mins. With it costing only 15 euros for the week for a ticket.

Our room was lovely, with clean modern deco and well equipped.

The only real down side for us was the staff, all of the reception staff were rude and unhelpful to the point of arrogance, the breakfast staff where not much better. The only Fantastic member of staff was Maria in the Lounge bar.

To be honest the hotel was lovely, the surrounding area is a bit of a building site and Paphos seems to be a bit tired and cheap. We wont be returning here in a hurry.

I traveled to paphos-Cyprus staying at the capital Coast Resort & Spa on the 14-05-14 with my other sisters to attending a family wedding. I was pleasantly surprised on arrival to how welcoming the staff were throughout. The rooms were spaciousness, clean, modern and cleaned everyday whilst I was there. I used and enjoyed the spa facilities provided but you would need to book in advance to any treatments provided. I chose self catering but sampled the breakfast which I feel was value for money in terms of selection of food provided. The atmosphere was quite and relaxing but could do with light music playing in the background where the cocktail bar is located. There is a small handy shop located within the hotel if you are self catering and a bus service at the top of the road to venture into the harbor where more gift shops and restaurants are located to a variety of choice and the authentic fresh food provided.Overall although the hotel is situated on a rocky beach and you would need to travel further a field to locating a sandy beach if desired. I recommend and cannot wait to return as I feel it offered value for money for the standard of service provided. To those looking for a chance to unwind.

The best view I have ever had in a hotel! Of course it was an executive suite with a good value for money offer because it was in a not peak season time. Very peaceful hotel and very nice swimming pool. The only negative thing is that you don't find Nutella at the breakfast. Excellent big rooms for families including all kitchen furniture and electric appliances!!! Also too much space in the room!!!

I recognise a good hotel service by their ability to help guests solve problems.
On two occasions Thomas the hotel manager did exactly that for us.
1. We missed the airport transfer organised by the hotel and had to take a taxi.Thankfully we were refunded with no issues.
2. Our child got sick one day after we arrived. The hotel is very well prepared for these types of situations and they sent a doctor straight to our room.

The biggest advantage of this hotel is how well all the rooms are equipped. They include a dishwasher, washing machine, large fridge and freezer blender, all glassware including two types of wine glases, lots of cooking utensils.
As for downsides... There isn't much to do or see outside the hotel and there is no sandy beach but you can rent quads or buggy cars to see other places and the view is spectacular.
Enjoy!

Upon arrival we were greeted by a man ready to collect us from the airport with the free transfer we booked via the hotel website! it only took about 10/15 mins to get to the hotel from the airport. First impressions were very nice, Marble entrance and massive reception, we were greeted by a very nice receptionist and supplied with our rooms card.

Entering the room was a shock because we booked a basic room with an inland view and no balcony, when looking out the window for the first time it turned out we had a sea view and an amazing view of the three pools. The room was immaculate, very nice and modern bathroom with a shower and a bath. The pools are kept extremely clean, when waking up at 8am every morning i look outside to see them being cleaned along with all the decking surrounding them.

We booked B&B the breakfast was okay, there was a wide selection of fruit/pancackes/cereal/yoghurts, but i decided to go for the closest thing to a full english which turned out ot be hot dog sausages, beans, some sort of roast potato and a weird form of bacon.

All of the staff here are very friendly and it's as if they can't do enough for you.The room was cleaned every day with new bedding, and when going downstairs to the pool we were greeted by the pool bar staff every dan and asked how we were.

The drinks are cheap compared to back home in the UK, IT's something like €2.09 for a cocktail, and in Happy hour (16:30 - 17:30) in the pool bar and (18:00 - 19:00) in the indoor bar you get 50% off all alcoholic drinks!

There are plenty of sun loungers to go around, with a nice area to sunbathe at the end of all the pools with parasols next to every pair of beds.

The location of the hotel is great, oppersite there is a Lidl but if you walk out to the right down the road there is a lovely chinese restraunt called chloe's, and f you walk another 5/10 mins on the right hand side there is an American/Italian restraunt called Fat Mammas Brilliant food in there too! another 10/15 min walk from there is the "tourist area" which is paphos harbour, lots of nice little bars to have a couple of drinks in and pints cheaper then water at €1.69!

There are building works going on either side of the hotel, but i couldnt even tell they were there, heard no noise whatsoever from them.

All in all an absolute great hotel, and would definatly go back another time, Thanks for a great stay!

Hope this helps :)
