Reviewed 11 October 2010

My girlfriend and I stayed in this hotel for a week and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We stayed on a self catering basis.

When we checked in we were told about the hotel amenities. Free towels to be used by the pool which get changed every 2 days and a mini market on site with a fairly good selection of stuff at pretty good prices. Spa treatments and a gym were also available but we didn’t use either of these so can' comment on price or review. Also, since we were self catering, we were offered a special rate breakfast for 7 days and also a special rate dinner for 7 days. We declined these as we wanted to get out and sample the local restaurants.

ROOM: We had booked an 'attic studio with skylight' and that is what we got. A lovely little bedsit-type room with a skylight. The room had a double bed with a kitchenette (with dishwasher) plenty of storage space including a free safe and a bathroom including a lovely power shower! The fridge/freezer was a touch noisy during the night due to it being aprox 8 feet away from the bed, but this could only be classed as a minor issue. The studio rooms are not reachable via the lift. You go up to the 3rd floor by lift, along a corridor, then up stairs. Not really suitable for disabled, but for us it was fine.

POOL AREA: The hotel has four pools, three outside and one indoor. The pools are different depths ranging from the kiddie pool being about a foot deep to the other two which are deeper. (I’m sure measurements are available). Around the pools there are wooden sun loungers with cushions which are very comfortable and all with umbrellas. There is also a pool bar which serves drinks (and food between certain times) and had a happy hour between 5.30 & 6.30 where drinks are 50% when we were there. Main bartender was a very friendly chap called Gerhard. There are more sun loungers facing the sea however these are plastic and not so comfortable so get up quick and get your towel on a nice one!!! There is also a small sandy beach but beware of rip tides when swimming.
PS If you want a good view of the pools, head to the 5th floor of the lift. It's the roof! There used to be a 'Rooftop Bar' up there but has been taken away now so it's just a flat roof. Lovely view though!

LOCATION: The hotel itself is situated about a mile outside of paphos on the 'tomb of the king’s rd' (Just up from the Venus Beach Hotel). It doesn't seem to be on any map yet as it only opened in late 2008. It is a short walk to the nearest bus stop (outside Venus Beech Hotel) and from there you can take a number of busses as far as you want for only 1 euro each one way. This is fantastic value if you think how much you would pay in this country! There are even some attractions such as the 'Aphrodite Water Park' that offers free transfer and you get your 1 euro back upon purchasing the entry ticket! I actually felt a little guilty as the bus journey must have been at least 30 mins!
If you wanted to walk into town you will pass many restaurants, almost all of them offering a set menu for between 10-15 Euros for a 3 course meal. This represents excellent value as the prices of the same food from the full menu can often be more. Most restaurants will have staff on the door/pavement trying to get you to come in. These can be a bit annoying but my tip is to ask for a card and say you'll give it some thought. One of the best restaurants in the vicinity of the hotel had to be an Italian called Martellis. Highly recommended! If you go to the harbour, look for one called Pingouinos, equally recommended!

To sum up... Fantastic holiday, couldn't have asked for more. I would be very happy to stay there again but may look at the possibility of a bigger room with a balcony. Don't get me wrong, the room we got was lovely, but at the time it's all we could afford! We would also like to stay there for longer.

This is the 2nd time we've stayed at the Capital Coast and we were amazed at how quickly it was becoming a little tatty around the edges. We also felt like the 'Monkeys in the Zoo' with the endless time-share punters being shown around. We even over-heard them saying that all of the guests in the hotel were part of what they call the 'Holiday Club' well, we definately were not.
Staff on the whole were friendly and our rooms clean and well equiped although they already look like they could do with a coat of paint and the sofa was looking grubby.
Sun-beds were nearly all taken by 9am, or should I say all had towels on them. We tend to use the pool area for a couple of hours in the morning and some people hadn't even appeared to claim these beds by the time we had left. Some of the sun beds were also looking a little worse for wear. The grass area around the pool needed cutting and the tab-ends cleaning up.
The entrance area and car park still look like a building site, in fact we saw a couple of accidents at the entrance as it is not easy to turn into.
If you want somewhere functional to stay then fine, but no longer my idea of a Luxurious Beach Holiday.

We live in Cyprus and have sampled more than a few hotels on the island in our time here. Having gotten used to a general lack of customer service that Cyprus is famous for and low levels of cleanliness - we were totally blown away by this hotel. On the 3 occasions throughout the year we have stayed here so far we have had more rooms and extras than we asked for every time. The kitchen is packed with more utensils than we have at home! Clean, tidy, lovely LG tv in each room, DVD player etc. Air Con worked a treat and the beds were comfy and almost new. Friendly staff at reception and at the bar. The sauna and steam rooms are great although spa is a bit busy at times. Very clean and smelling new throughout though.

The hotel has only be there for a year and a half so far and was supposed to be sold as apartments which didnt sell - so they turned it into a very accomplished hotel instead - top idea.

Cant recommend more - no sure about others saying time share guys around as have not seen any so far but a car is a must as its a ten min drive to either Coral bay or into Paphos harbour area. The stone grill accross the road is very expensive but amazing food.

Well worth your money for a stay here.

If only the rest of the hotels in Cyprus could match it....

We just arrived back from our honeymoon to this place and all in all had a great time.

First things first, don't get a taxi if you can help it, the smallest charge is $8 Euros, even for a 2 mile trip. We hired a car pre-booked from airport for the week and it cost us £125. They drive on the same side of the road as UK and speed limits are very low.

We booked this hotel using Priority Club points, we booked a 1 Bedroom Suite with Seaview, I e-mailed them with an upgrade request as it was our honeymoon, but got a reply stating that the hotel was full and it would probably not be possible.

When we arrived at 11.15pm we were very pleased with the first impressions, the lobby is very clean and the hotel is new'ish. We checked in and the night manager(a helpful fella called Lee) told us we were booked into a Two Bedroom Suite with Land View, I explained that we had booked a Sea View and he said that he would pass theis on to the day time team and it would be sorted first thing next day.

Walking through the hotel we found it to be clean verging on clinical.

We got to our room(Suite 234) and found that we actually had a sea view, with two bedrooms, three bathrooms and 3 LCD TV's, all mod con's in kitchen including a smoothy maker!?!......massive balcony also.

Woke up next morning and were more than happy with our room, reception called us as promised about moving but we were very happy to stay where we were.

Breakfast was great, hot & cold buffet selection was always fresh and tasty, coffee was much better than standard hotel rubbish.

Went to pool(10am) and found that all the comfy padded loungers around it had been claimed already. So we settled on loungers on grass facing sea and were not disappointed at all, they have recently built a pathway 30 second walk to a small but perfect quiet, very clean beach with lovely clean sea.

The hotel was full but it had an air of quietness about it, it was very relaxed. The staff were second to none, very helpful at all times and the hotel is spotlessly clean, room was serviced daily and you could get fresh beach towels every other day(with a $25 deposit).

3 pools, very clean, free first time scuba lesson if you wanted. Bar prices were about average hotel prices - $3.50 a pint, however, they have a happy hour every day from 5.30pm where every drink is half price including cocktails.

Internet in hotel was relatively cheap at $2 per day or $10 for a week. Safe in room was free and great much needed air con free as well.

A few folk have mentioned that the hotel is a bit out of the way....well, the nearest (really nice) Italian restaurant is 3 minutes walk from hotel lobby and a Chinese, a steak house and traditional Greek place were a further 7 minutes stroll along the road. A bus passes the hotel every 10 minutes to take you to ToTK's restaurants for $1.

Okay then, the minor gripes........I'm reluctant to mention them as they are so minor but do so in the hope that someone from the hotel reads this review and can get them corrected.

The Indoor Spa was very nice but some of the mosaic tiles had been broken and not replaced, the paintwork was peeling away and gave the place a uncared for appearance. Some of the glass around the indoor had cracked and was held together by packing tape. The whole Spa area looked like it needed a bit more TLC, they charge a fair bit for treatments in there and no one seemed to be around much.

They sold second hand books($2) in supermarket which had obviously been left by previous guests, why not have a book exchange instead?

Time share folk wandered around hotel all day, never bothered us but could see why people don't like it.

Also the scrapey chair syndrome of other guests, why don't these hotels fit some sort of felt leg pieces so that the screech from above when someone moves nearly bursts your ear drums?

Like I say, very minor gripes which could easily be addressed.

All in all a great hotel, would definatley recommend it.

We stayed in a one-bedroom Superior Suite. The suite was fabulous, it was like a modern apartment. It had everything you needed and more (From smoothie machine to proper expensive oven). Also, the room were clean at the maximum level, even the toilets were sterilized every day.

We were staying at the hotel on a Bed and Breakfast basis. The breakfast was amazing. A variety of food including waffles (in heart shape ideal for people in Love) and pancakes. Very good quality of food.

Everyone in the hotel was very polite and we felt at home.

The viewing was astonishing and we enjoyed every single minute at the swimming pool.

We arrived at the hotel not knowing that the check in was at two oclock but the hotel reception was happy to let us use the luggage room and even quickened their cleaning service and let us check in at one oclock. The receptionist said we were given the best room not really believing him we went the room and couldnt believe our luck. For just 370 euros for two nights we were going to stay in pure luxury. The room was spotless and immensely spacious, we were 6 people and had three bathrooms, four flat screen LG tvs , a dvd player and loads more necessities. The blender was my good friend! We all made our fresh fruit smoothies to sip in the jacuzzi which was on our balcony which was a huge plus. Being in Cyprus we knew that most hotels were expensive but we were amazed to see that during happy hour cocktails were 2,50 euros and the bottles of water were one euro at the bar. The food was reasonably priced like any other hotel and the breakfast was just perfect with nothing less and not too much. The reception was often lacking the greek language but were always happy to help when needed info about Paphos. They also told us if we wanted to have a room to shower as we had to check out at twelve and we were going to stay longer at the pool. The only downside to the resort was the Spa which was good priced but the masseuses were not as good as expected. I have to say though for the price we paid we were given pure luxury and the jacuzzi topped it up !! We all said that next year its going to be our May destination for longer though.

We had a 10 day stay at Capital Coast in August 2010 we went as a family with two children aged 11 and 7 and after reading many of the reviews before I went I was slightly worried.

However once I arrived at Capital Coast I was greeted by only friendly and helpful staff. We got fantastic room with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, a lounge and dining area, a fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine. We were based on the ground floor so also had a large patio area with table and chairs outside.

The cleaning service was excellent with the maid coming in every day and she was always very polite and helpful. We stayed half board so had breakfast and either lunch or dinner in the restaurant. Again the staff working here were always extremely polite and helpful and the food was good. For example my youngest child is rather picky and on two occasions Dimitri (the restaurant manager) offered to make her something else which went down very well plus he was always chatty and the customer service was excellent.

The hotel is situated a short walk away from many restaurants and bars and recommend getting a car as much of the good places to visit a spread out across the island.

Overall we had a great holiday I would definetly recommend this hotel and return again someday and Thanks to all the staff for a fabulous service with a smile.
