Just returned from an excellent holiday in Arinsal, the snow was superb, skiing deep powder in April was fabulous, we stayed half board in the Hotel Comapedrosa ,which was very good value and was clean , friendly and perfectly situated two minutes from the Gondola, the food was ok, with the odd evening meal out a good idea. As a French Alps fan, I was skeptical about Andorra , but my fears were unfounded, Arinsal isn't a big resort, with huge runs and a casino, but has many positives which make it ideal for families, beginners and mixed ability groups who will appreciate the convenience and atmosphere of a smaller ski centre. The reps and instructors were all excellent, and could not have been more helpful, friendly and experienced. There are plenty of alternative and affordable apres ski choices,so you can ski and then enjoy the apres ski without melting your credit card ,the atmosphere is very friendly and unpretentious. The Food served on the slopes and in the bars and restaurants was very good quality and great value. The number of long term and returning visitors to Arinsal, including the instructors who have spent ten or twenty years in Arinsal is a real testament to the town. Downsides? If you want to eat up the miles then it may not be the place for you, longish transfers three hours plus and Arinsal can look a bit grey in the wet and cloudy days.
