“Hotel good but food bad quality”
Reviewed 29 March 2010

Went the first week of march ski-ing for the first time so didnt know what to expect. The walk up to the gondala was only 15 mins and the area was very pretty. We did go towards end of season so hardly much snow, so when it did snow once over night it was very exciting!
The hotel is basic which is fine, with the rads on full blast, especially in the evening, so did have to sleep with the balcony door open every night. Food was ok first 2 nights but then got quite bad. spring rolls on the menu was a joke- slice of ham rolled with coleslaw in the middle( don't even know if it was coleslaw) and you got 3 of those. when asked if we can have something else the waiter said no. The main course came and it was a very bloody, fatty pork!when asked to cook it longer we were told "this is how we eat it". Right ok then.
The last night we did treat our selves to pizzeria round corner which was fab.
The bar man was lovely in the hotel and the rest of the staff just kept themselves to themselves. When checking out we have a "bar bill" we had to pay which in fact was not ours, just shows you should pay as you go like we did otherwise might get ripped off!
We went with some mates which was brill, so to go with other people is good, lovely location, fine hotel but just maybe just go bed and breakfast next time?
Treated our selves at the spa place 15 min taxi drive away, definatly worth a visit!

Just got back from a fantastic ski trip to Arinsal, Andorra. The slopes and weather were excellent and I would definitely go back.

The hotel is located about 15mins walk downhill from the gondola station which wasn't a problem as we hired room a cage at the top of the gondola for the overnight storage of skis.

The hotel itself was basic but clean and welcoming. We found all the staff amenable and friendly (contrary to others experiences) and I would stay there again readily on a non-catered basis.

Unfortunately we were there on a half board basis. The food was terrible and it took all our willpower (and thriftiness!) not to eat out every night. If a vegetable appeared it was boiled to within an inch of its life and came from a tin and the choice of main courses was woeful and badly cooked. The breakfast by contrast was excellent.

Stay at this hotel on a bed and breakfast basis but go half board at your peril :-)

For the productive leisure spent not in bed, the hotel is fine! To Ski, and then to have possibility to dry wet clothes, to receive hot and tasty food from three dishes, easy to have a rest in pure number! Magic is simple! The housekeeping staff does not climb in a life of clients, disturbs to nobody, is polite and brought up! What it is necessary to you, misters? I read responses and I do not understand your relation: you sports have arrived to be engaged, have a rest or you try to show how much are not brought up? My opinion - the personnel is very good!!!!!!! Want, that before you a floor licked - pay five times more and have a rest in hotel five stars!!!
Weather, the nature and hotel were pleasant! So to hold! And for noisy rest with the persuasive personnel it is necessary to go not to Andorra, and to Egypt or Turkey!

Just got back from a great trip to Arinsal. The snow conditions were perfect and the set-up in resort is good. The Besoli though was not very good. The rooms are clean but basic and would be passable if it were not for the poor food and terrible customer service. The breakfast spread is ok but the evening 3 courses are shabby, generally fried food with chips, and after two nights we had to eat elsewhere for fear of scurvy, despite being on half board.
It is however the ambivalent attitude of the management that is the hotel's worst fault. We were a reasonably affluent group with plenty of disposable income but spent none of it in the hotel as we were made to feel like our holiday was getting in the way of their business. The contrast with the customer service in the local bar the 'El Derby' could not have been greater. Here we were welcomed and looked after very well by the owners and the staff which made the off-piste hours enjoyable as avoided spending time at the Besoli.

We were staying on a half board basis but the food was of such a poor quality we were forced to go out to dine each evening,.
However the main problem we found with this hotel was the total lack of interest of all the employees. The initial greeting at reception was frostier than the weather outside and it continued in a similar vein for the next three days, everything was too much trouble for them!!!!!!!!
I couldn't recommend anybody stay at this hotel unless the staff underwent some intensive customer service training

After reading the other reviews I think there must be 2 hotels with the same name. I stayed in the nice one. I had a double room with my wife on the first floor. This was fine for the money, though the heating was too hot and there wasn't an english language channel on the TV. The room was cleaned and tidied every day and the towels changed regularly.
I'd told the hotel we were vegetarians and we got vegetarian food every night. However this was very limited. The breakfast gave an excellent choice but the coffeee machine was very slow, which would be a problem when the hotel is full.
The staff were helpful.

Stayed at the hotel from the 3rd Jan 2010 to 10th Jan 2010. I found the hotel to be cosy and friendly. Rooms were basic but were clean and were always hot (sometimes too hot) plenty of hot water. I could not fault them in any way. Breakfast was fantastic with a great choice of cereals, bread, croissants, juices, ham chees etc - what more would u want. Dinner in the evening was fine - there was something that i could eat every nite so no complaints there either. The staff were very friendly.

Arinsal itself is a lovely village with lots to do. We booked through Neilson ski, reps were really friendly and good at their job. The nite life was fantastic maybe a wee bit too much as it was hard to get up in the morning to go skiing. Our ski school didnt start til 12 which was great. Irish Derby Bar in Arinsal brillant - had a few great nites there. Decades nite put on by the reps worth seeing - had great nite there. We went on the arinsal by nite - very cold up the mountain but we had great fun bob sleighing down the mountain and then the reps ski down by torch which was nice to see. There was something on every nite so no need to be bored. Would definitely recommend Arinsal and hotel. Remember folks its what u make of the holiday yourself that counts - moaning gets u nowhere. We all had a ball and will definitely return next year.
