Nice hotel high in the hills with some interestingly quaint streets beneath. Only had one night here but it was more than adequate. A good place for shopping-great prices. Be warned it is not a cheap place to stay if you need to go to hospital. Not covered by the usual EHIC card. Plenty of places to eat around the hotel. Breakfast adequate-nothing more

Room tip: Get a room to the rear with a view to the mountains. Can be a little noisy but not too bad

Dear Chick M,
Thank you for sharing your opinion about the Panorama Hotel.
We feel sorry that you were not covered by the EHIC card... but Andorra is not a full member of the European Union. That would be the reason for this inconvenience.
Regards,
Xavier Miquel. General Manager.

Breakfast was excellent, room was excellent.Facilities very good . Views superb! Staff were kind and helpful. We loved it
We didn't like the rubber mattress protector that was directly under the sheet , making the sheet slide about and making us perspire. There are much more comfortable mattress protectors available these days or a topper between protector and sheet.. A shame as the bed itself was lovely.
It was excellent value for money but be warned ...no tea making facilities so take your own! .

Room tip: All rooms have excellent views.. Rooms on the back are quieter

Dear Essaress,
Thank you for sharing your opinion about your stay at the Hotel Panorama in Andorra.
We're glad to know that you liked most of our services.
I'd like to know what was the room where you stayed, in order to check the mattress protector... can you tell me writing to direccio@andorrapanorama.com?
Regarding the tea facilities... we're not used to receive this request (Spanish and French, usually, don't care about that), but I'd like to thank you for sharing this appreciation. We'll evaluate that.
Best regards,
Xavier Miquel. Director.

My 14 year old son stayed at the hotel as part of a school excursion for 5 days. His review is as follows:
The location was fair; a 5 minute walk to the centre of the town but a 10-15 minute shuttle ride to the slopes at Pau. The mountain views one side of the hotel were beautiful. However the road views on the other side were disappointing. The food was unsatisfactory, the breakfast was a choice of bacon which was chewy and stringy, scrambled egg that was rubbery and clumpy and sausages that were shrivelled and tasteless. On two occasions out of 5 at dinner, our party were served raw chicken and when this was brought to the attention of the catering staff, we were not offered an alternative, we simply had to make do with the accompaniments available that evening. The accommodation was clean in general, but some of my peers found that their mattresses smelled strongly of stale urine and were ignored when they tried to address these issues (it felt like we could be treated badly because we are school children) The games room was well equipped but is in need of a complete overhaul and restock as the games are old, broken and outdated. There was also an offensive smell in there every day (which was not resulting from a gang of teenagers using the facility!!!) I certainly would not chose to ever stay here again and I am really disappointed that my parents parted with a large sum of money for me to holiday at this resort. We have skied every year since I was 4 and I know what ski resort accommodation should and could be like; this was appalling and does not deserve the 4 star rating. The skiing was great and this was the only saving factor!

Dear Beckyprp,

Regarding your opinion, we would like to contribute with the following information:

- We are only one minute walking from the main street.

- Our hotel has the best views over the valley. Obviously it's not possible to have the whole building facing towards that side. Therefore, it sounds unfair to say that "normal" views to a road (that every other hotel or building has) are "disappointing".

- In our breakfast service there's a large selection of products, not only those three that your son didn't like.

- We had over four hundred people having dinner those days. All of them were served the same products. Only a few people from your son’s group told us the chicken was raw. We asked other guests and they said there was no reason to complain. All the same, we talked to your son’s teachers and offered to prepare an alternative dish (despite having a buffet service, where people has several options of products!) and they said it was not necessary.

- Talking about the smell of urine... you should better ask the children who shared the room. The housemaid noticed what happened every night and let's say... the origin were not our facilities. But it's a situation we shouldn't be alarmed about.

- We have over twenty-five years of experience working with school groups. Most of them (about 90%?) are recurring groups that come every ski season. It seems strange to say we treat them differently for being schools... because we are specialist on it!!

- There are no broken games at the games room. We agree they are old... but you have to consider that PlayStation -and video game consoles in general- have replaced the old devices all around the world.

We don't know what could be your knowledge in hotels rating, but professional specialists in our country don't agree with you.

Sincerely,

Xavier Miquel. General Manager.

The hotel has a great location for visiting Andorra la Vella. It's just a few minutes walk away from the main centre up on the hill with great views across the town. We were lucky to get a room that also had good views, it was very spacious with a big bathroom, and very quiet at night.

We got a bit lost trying to find the hotel at first and ended up arriving at the back entrance (which was fine as it actually turned out to be a shortcut to the centre).

We used the swimming pool in the evening (on the top floor) which was a nice bonus to have after being out in the cold all day, my only annoyance was that we couldn't get near the jacuzzi as it was full of small kids splashing around (perhaps a suggestion to keep the jacuzzi area just for adults after say 5pm would be ideal!)

The breakfast was good considering it was included in the room price, though a little disappointing for a vegetarian/vegan, not a huge choice. Overall I found the Panorama hotel an ideal place to stay for a weekend or few nights, it was reasonably priced with a great location and I'd recommend it.

Room tip: Ask for a high floor on the side with views across the town.

Dear davinajs,
Thanks a lot for sharing this long and complete review about the Hotel Panorama in Andorra.
We're glad to know that you'd recommend our hotel and that you'd like most of our services.
We take note of what you suggest about the jacuzzi... in spite of we think that's a little bit difficult. We advise you and everybody that we've an "adults only" time every day at the swimming pool area (including jacuzzi) from 20h to 21h.
Best regards,
Xavier Miquel. General Manager.

Stopped off here after a long drive from the UK. Massive room with single beds.No view towards the mountains but I wasn't bothered. Lovely walking around the shops early evening in Andorra La Vella. I was impressed with the view as I walked into the dining area to grab breakfast. No time to use the pool but it looked inviting. Maybe next time.
