A small restaurant not so easy to find but with excellent food at a reasonable price. The atmosphere and rhythms are ideal for a romantic dinner and the beer is very cold.Don't come if you are really hungry and in a hurry ....

My family and I were very lucky to get the last available table on New Year's Eve as we had not reserved. We were greeted by the lady owner who is very friendly and speaks excellent English. The rest of the staff were equally as friendly and smartly dressed. The restaurant was full to bursting within an hour of us arriving but, this did not affect the quality of the food nor the service we received. I must say that the quality of the meat used in the main courses was of a very high standard. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant.

The meal is very good comparing with the other asian restaurant in europe which mostly mix asian. Thai, vietnam and chinese food, and makes them taste confusingly thai or viet or chinese. But this royal thai is truly thai food. Nestled beautifully in alley in the centre of monaco. Easy to reach, several public parking surroinding too. the service is quick and with a smile:) the price is a bit high, 19euro for a small bowl of tomb yum. And 15-20euro for salad. But, as it taste good,... It's been my 4th time having lunch / dinner here every of my monaco trip , and will come back again later.

We had lunch at the Royal Thai, hoping for some good Thai food. We weren't disappointed.
The menu of the day includes a starter, main plate and coffee for 17E. A very good bottle of white wine rounded out our meal for less than 60E for the two of us.
The starter was the usual nem but also included two sesame and shrimp toasts which were very crispy and good. We went with the daily plat as our main plate and thoroughly enjoyed the red chicken curry. A good sized bunch of Thai basil added some welcome flavours and the entire plate was garnished by some cleverly carved vegetables.
We enjoyed our meal and felt it was good value for money spent. If you're looking for something a little different, try the Royal Thai.

I just read some reviews on the Royal Thai and it makes me wonder about the (lack of...) culture of some travellers. But being in a democratic world, there shall be no complain judgement or pointing fingers....

I love the food from every Asian country and find the Thai cuisine even more delicate and especial with so many nuances of spicy and sweet, often joined together in the same dish.

What a pleasure to discover a Thai house in Monaco, in particular when the real Thai cuisine is served. the dining room is very cosy, the personnel tries and do its best to attend you, and the flavour of the dishes brings you back to some nice restaurant in Thailand. Of course, it is not as spicy as there, but understand that it could be too much for European's palate and, if you feel adventurous, ask the waitress to do it like in Thailand: i did so and enjoyed the result with my eyes closed. My favourite entry is Tom Yum Kong ( ต้มยำกุ้งต้ม), it looks simple but it requires the proper ingredient to achieve the real taste and Royal Thai does it well !

¿ Costly ? Most certainly not for Monaco, but if it is too much for one's budget, there are (unfortunately) some cheap or fast food restaurant not too far away.

It is my pleasure to go there every time I am in Monaco - ขอบคุณค่ะ -

Thank you Caturiri. You are exactly the sort of person we are striving to please. Someone who knows Thai cuisine and does not expect a pseudo asian/european style food. We really appreciate your comments. Next time you come please tell Daranee who you are.
