“One of many offering similar wares”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 September 2013

Went there for lunch while visiting Monaco for the day - it was the only restaurant at 13h15 that had a table for 5! The service was friendly, the food okay, although the wild mushroom risotto was not nearly as nice as the chef had made out, the "Formidable" beers (in 1 litre mugs) were fun and the bill was large, as with everything in Monaco, but there was nothing memorable and we won't be hurrying back.

“Good food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 July 2013

Great place for a quick dinner. The food is far better than what you expect from a typical tourist place. And the location is charming,- right behind the church in the old town.

“One of our favourites. Just not this time...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 January 2013

We've been grabbing a bowl of pasta here for many years and always had a good time and good, wholesome food. The streets of the Old Town were deserted this time (we always go at the end of January for Janet's birthday, so Monaco is always quiet - but the tiny streets of the Old Town were empty. ) The restaurant was quite busy but we got a table with no booking. Janet has a serious allergy to chilli so we had taken care to write down the French sentence explaining what she must avoid. The waiter read it and recommended Spaghetti Bolognese, but with Penne. I said I would have the same. I chose a 50cl of Provence Rose but he said they only had the smaller size, or a full bottle. I opted for the bottle. After all, we're on holiday! So, that's 2 Spag Bols and a bottle of Rose. Simple enough? What we got was a bottle of red (which we accepted) and 2 plates of Penne Amatriciana....with extra chili. One mouthful was enough to alert my wife. Another waiter was very kind when we explained, and changed the dish. The original waiter apologised and we enjoyed our meal, even though he could not have got it more wrong. When we checked the bill we found he'd even written Penne Amatriciana as he was saying Bolognese. I completely accept that we should learn the language better but we HAD done the most important bit of writing (correctly) the sentence "Je suis allergique......etc" We laughed about it later, but the allergy can cause a reaction of shortness of breath and weezyness so it's no laughing matter. Pasta Roca is a great value, friendly place that we will go back to. They just got it completely wrong this time.

4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 January 2013

Now its time for us to review this place after at least 12 times at Pasta Roca,,we,had a good lunch there dec 30, nice weather so we had lunch outside,, food is good as always , its always so crowdy and this time it was very very much people, but its worth to wait a few minutes.

Prices are okay, like 16 euro for a menu, bottle of wine from 20 euro , and sodas 4 euro.

“Bossy waiter, good fixed price menu.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 November 2012

Situated in the narrow streets of Monaco-Ville. Good fixed price three-course lunch menu at €16. Medium (50cl) beers at €6, which is not bad for this part of the world. House wine at €20 a bottle. Deserts from €4. Salads can be small or large depending on how much you can eat and the small Nicoise was more than adequate as a main for one of our party. Service wasn't the quickest and the waiter was brusque in telling us how to order (starters only first, then mains and then coffee had to be ordered with desert, not afterwards) as well as insisting in speaking in English even though fluent French speakers were ordering. Lunch for 4 with 3 menus, 1 small salad, 2 medium beers, 1 bottle of wine and 1 extra desert came to €92.
